  • Hei!!! very nice play ! Meybe it would be possible to get the notes m? r.pranevicius@yahoo.com Big Thanks !

  • Black Jesus.

  • I love how he bends the note at 1:58!

  • that was great, most people can't play saxophone dynamics well but you did. 5/5

  • are you using a yas 23 or 62?

  • Excellent my friend i keep looking on youtube to take inspiration as i'm only a late starter beginner

    love your tone

  • do you think you would do alicia keys,if i aint got you.

  • Decent playin man, but to much scooping of notes, sometime less is more

  • What size mouthpiece is that, also what strength reeds do you use? I have a yanagisawa that looks similar to that, but use LaVoz med hard and can't even get a tone like that.

  • what # yani mpc are you using?

  • What kind of sax and mouthpiece do you have?

  • i love this song i need to get the notes. sounds gre4at

  • damn can u teach me how 2 play i play sax 2

  • good job dude.

Just wondering, does the tone of your sax depend mostly on the mouthpiece? Cause im trying to get to sound like yours.

  • Mouthpiece then sax body.

  • cool. any suggestions for a mouth piece??

by the way you remind me of the sax player from the Rippingtons.

  • @RedRobin2010 Embouchure, then mouthpiece, then sax. You can totally change your sound purely through embouchure. It isn't too hard to find out different mouth techniques, either on the net or better from teachers. As well as that, you can just muck around with it and see what sounds good.

  • @RedRobin2010 Mouthpiece, saxophone itself. It mostly depends on how you play. Your embouchure mostly determines how you sound.

  • WOW ... Truly awesome! ... Im speechless!

  • Excellent playing! I'm curious, what size yanagisawa piece and reeds do you play? I got 2.5 vando javas on my yanagisawa 6.

  • nice playing. but u really need to clean ur desk more often - those left over bowls on the left side of the screen spoils the mood of the song :P

  • Good version.. like your style... i play but sure not as good as you... keep the good work..

  • Nice job, I use the yamaha-62 purple logo :P

  • You'RE AWESOME! mad respek

  • JUST SEEMS TO TOUCH YOUR SOUL

  • if you can. send me the notes.

please i also play the sax

    thankss :D

  • what sax do you use?

  • alto haha if ur being more more specific i dunno

  • If you don't mind can you tell me what notes are invovled at 3:27, I really wanna steal that lick and put it in another key for my song, If you would please

  • Hey thanks for listening. It's not that I don't want to tell you. I think it's a good exercise to try and transcribe them yourself. A part of becoming a good musician is to be able to listen and know what someone else is playing. Good luck and if you get too stuck, let me know.

  • @fatal123321 He's using blues notes in fast patterns, the b3's and b7's. If you're playing in G, use the Bb's, F's, and D's. Fun ass licks definitely!

  • i play sax, but it is only my highest hope to be like you, you are amazing, and nothing more.

  • omgg. the bestttt!

  • This is just making me miss my saxophone...

Nice job! Made me cry! :)

  • Same. I should go out and try to find one again. What a beautiful sound.

  • The tone he makes a 0:47 is just amazing it's just like he's speaking the emotion right out of the sax.

  • wow dude amazing tone i play alto sax too if u got any pointers for me send me a message ive been playing for 5 years and i have a selmer C*star mp and a yamaha sax thinking about getting a metal mp what u think

  • I really like the way how you did this how long have you been playing the sax and how did you come up with the notes for it.Amazing i want to do that someday

    -aspiring musician

  • Been playing on and off for a decade now. I came up with the notes by listening to the original Keys version and played the similar notes on the sax. I hope you the best in your endeavors and keep the music alive!

  • I think you might have forgotten to mention the reverb and compression used here.

Any other trickery to deny the true sonority of the saxophone?

  • I threw this together fairly quickly so didn't pay much attention to reverb/compression though both are obviously present here. Manipulating the recording is bringing the true life back to "actual" sound of the instrument, if you get my drift.

  • Sorry, didn't mean to sound so negative.

I'm just not a big fan on some of the modern players records.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I hate the sound of modern smooth jazz but sadly it's what people like to hear and what sells.

  • me too i like the more darker more full sound and i don't care to play pop music

    but it what people likes

  • Very nice. Loved every minute of it.You have such a nice tone its incredible.

  • ARG HOW DO YOU SOUND SO GOOD ON A YANI METAL MOUTHPEICE!?!? I sound terrible, tinny and thin. Possibley because i've only just switched to metal pieces. Any tips on how to get the best out of the mouthpeice?

  • Well Yani mouthpieces vary in chamber size, opening and baffle. So the one you have may not work for you. It also depends largely on your reed and somewhat on what kind of sax you have.

    BUT.

Don't always blame equipment. A good player can sound good even on crappy equipment. Charlie Park sounds just as good on a pawn shop sax.

  • That is so true!, becuase the sound is in your head first.

  • Really gald to see your second video, you inspired me:)
