If it is true I think after they (Cave Johnson and Caroline) had Chell, they must have put her up for adoption, and in the future she went to work, or test, at Aperture science. GlaDOS and Wheatly both say that Chells adopted, and you don't just say that when it's not true AND it's on her file. Just another interesting theory.

Then, after letting Chell leave, she slows the lift so that Chell can hear the turrets sing a song. That song is a woman singing to her daughter. Why would GLaDOS have the turrets sing a song about loving one's daughter unless Chell was Caroline's daughter.

Something interesting about portal 2. If you open up a .nut file with notepad, it's a scene that was never made into the actual game. The Cave Johnson Companion cube. Apparently, Cave Johnson wimped out on being put into GLaDOS, so he forced Caroline into it first, hence the "Cave, I do not want this!" Quotes that are in the games files but not included in the actual game. So the scientists stuck him in a CC. You see the CC in the co op but I dunno if it's the same one. (Party of 3 achieve)

Actually, they had portal guns before he died. In portal 2 there is a sign warning "This test cannot be completed without" one, and to see an associate if you didn't get one (The picture shows a huge backpack, so it's been miniaturized quite a bit, but they did have them.)
