I think this message is so important. I'm coming up to almost a year of being high raw food diet, many thanks to your videos Natasha and noticing it's effects on my life.
Not enough people talk about the good fats on raw, in fact, yours is the only video I found on the subject, which I find very interesting. HOpe you are feeling well!
Thank you.
I also wonder do you (or ANYONE OUT THERE?!) feel it is alright to have 1 tablespoon of raw coconut oil (artisana) every morning?
I wanted to add something. As far as I've read anywhere, most oils dont go through any changes when used in low temperature cooking. I know this is a raw channel so you dont do any cooking but cooking soups and stews with some added oil is fine (I like to use cold pressed olive oil). Temps around 75-85C.
I think the issue of being rancid occurs more from light and air exposure. Oil should be in dark bottles and kept in a cool place of course :)
I tried to eat 2.5lbs of greens 2day 3apples, 1tbsp of coconut oil, 2tbsp of sunflower seeds, avocado, tomato, 1/4 small onion, fresh coconut water, coconut meat, , cantaloupe, and was gonna eat this treat that i just made with 1/2cup soaked nuts, dates, vanilla, sea salt, lemon juice, dehydrated coconut meat but now i don't know if that will be over doing it? I am129lbs 5ft 6inch tall trying to be fit and loose some fat maybe 9lbs? How do i measure loose greens like baby spinach etc..???
Thanks for the reply Natasha:D I hardly have veriety in my raw food diet, I should add more different things! I seem to keep eating the same things, such as apples, cherries , romaine lettuce, zucchinni, tomatoe, red bell pepper, and I have about 3 cups of dehydrated buckwheat! its basicly the same diet every day.
if the raw food diet is the diet that works best for every human beeing on earth i want to see elite athletes that eat raw. I cannot see that. The only 2 person that are semi professional endurance athletes are marnstein and durianriders on youtube. check em out
I was wondering about pickled foods, lemon and apple ciders, could you make a video on that, I come from a Mediterranean background, and I have a huge weakness for pickles and apple cider, so even on the raw vegan diet I eat allot of those, sometimes my stomach hurts, so how bad are they ? What to look for, and is there anything about them that is good for us?
If you have not got tested for adequate levels of EPA and DHA you should take a supplement of DHA and EPA even if that means a good brand of Cod Liver Oil or Fish Oil. There is Cod Liver Oil and Fish Oil that is not rancid! We don't know if our bodies are producing enough DHA and EPA for the ALA in our diet. Same thing with Vitamin D and B12. If we have not been tested for adequate levels of these we should supplement instead of risk a deficiency! Good video though! :-)

Fax oil does go rancid quick. I add whole flax seeds to my blender smoothie.

is buckwheat a grain or a seed?
Is it fattening? and can you eat it everyday ,on a raw diet?
xsliceofheavenx 2 years ago
Its a fruit seed, but classified as a grain. No its not fattening, but I wouldn't eat it everyday! Variety is most important!
