Fantastic rendition of the song but the ending was a bit painful. That note Tony was trying to hit was just awful. I was playing it last night during a party and everyone was like... Ummmm, that's terrible. Lol!!! George was probably staring at him during the recording and wondered where he was going with "Neeeeeeever" lol!!! I'm shocked the recording company left that in there. Nonetheless, it was a great duet!!!
At the age of 71 I feel I am qualified to comment. I was around when Tony was Sinatra's favourite and mine too. Tony and George are superb: different, but superb. They come from totally different backgrounds but music is common ground for talented singers. I just love this. The lyrics have special meaning for me. Just how do you keep it playing? We did, and then he got young onset Alzheimer's and I lost him. So make the most of your time together. Live for the now.
I'm a classical music listener so I don't know George Michael's repertoire, but when I hear his voice singing solo here, all I hear is electronics - as if I'm hearing George and his shadow at the same time, but as I listen further I can hear that the voice is truly beautiful with fantastic phrasing and breath control so I think it's a technical issue perhaps..
A la fin les vocalises de Tonny Bennett sont très bien quand il est en solo mais ne veulent rien dire dans cette versions avec George Michael (qui lui est un peu effacé dans cette histoire.)
george michael peaked in 1996...which was about 14 years into his 26-year career...given that it was practically the mid-point, I would not call that peaking "early". The relevance factor can be blamed on mainstream American media not playing any of his stuff while showcasing "flavor of the moment" talent for the past decade. Fortunately, the media elsewhere (and not just Europe) was considerably wiser and exposed people to a more eventful facet of George Michael's career than "Faith" and Wham.
Oh yogeros thank you...Truly, startlingly beautiful. I crank the volume in the car and just listen again+again. It's not enough, though...I hope they do a whole album together.
I can't believe it! ...everytime I hear this beautiful duet of Tony and George, can't help but quivers....goose pimples coming out...SAVOY for Tony and George!...
(imho) The total is greater than the sum of it's parts in this case. They are both doing a fantastic job...Tony Bennett is magnificent (80?!!) and all the duets are perfection!
Honey you get so much lovely comments here...noone sees the video and pictures are also very beautifully choosed? Bravo George, Bravo Tony bravissimo Yogeroos! XXX baby
I can't believe even on this youtube vid there is friction, there are so many haters out there. Well get this, if George Michael is good enough for Tony Bennet to want to sing with then he's good enough for me. Tony is a legend, as is Stevie Wonder, Aretha, McCartney, Elton, Whitney, Pavaroti, Queen, yet they all seem perfectly happy to work with George Michael, I wonder what the reason for this is? Maybe it's because they rate him and don't give a shit what the haters think, maybe.
@rolybling tony bennetts sons had a rock group quacky duck an inventor of nonsensical inventions named rick adler said quacky duck did a benefit concert for muscular dystrophy and stole the money
Great Songs are Great no matter who sings them but Patti Austin and James Ingram have burned this song into my heart...Patti is one beautiful woman inside and out...and James well what can I say? Smooth as silk....What wonderful talents...George M & Tony B...duets...love it..
@sjogy great voice? He's one of a kind and often imitaded, most don't even get close. Sinatra considered him the greatest male singer of his era, the exception is made for Ella
What a load of tosh. The fact is they both have fantastic voices. Both from a different generation but complimenting each other on this track. To say one should be heard more is pathetic and sad just enjoy two fantastic voices coming together.

English is not everyone's first language, omnidevil.
Of course Tony Bennet has been singing longer that George and collected more awards, he's like 80 years old!
What does George Michael's "bad record" have to do with his singing ability? If George wanted to belt it out and cover up Tony Bennet's voice, he certainly could have. It's called a DUET, that's why George didn't try to overpower Tony.
I agree with you. Furthermore. The man who is CALLED GEORGE MICHAEL doesnt need to prove his singing talent for he is the most talented singer who can sing live cd quality incomparable, and best vocalist. Its simple as that. Jesus how many morrons here...
what a great mix!! who would have thought tony bennett and GM? Very very nice.. Tony sounds great, and another song that shows us how GM can sing whatever the hell he wants!

Tony was and STILL is great..
George peaked early and has little relevance today..However at the time of this recording, they were great with each other..
Lasting greatness is so very very rare...

George is great,I'm a big fan, but this is truly Tony Bennett's song. Holy Moley, his voice is amazing.
George is reduced here to a mere back-up support singer.
What a beautiful song...

Hey guys, GET THE MESSAGE and stop being faggots for pete's sake.
What I said was this mellow song, Tony was singing and his voice was so much more pronounced and great than George's. Even at the end of the duet.
The awards and legend thing was how I worship his singing capacity, and so what if George is world renowned? Does that make his Excellent?! NO.
Tony was every known ballad singer's inspiration, that is a fact.
Durrrr

Needs more Tony Bennet.
The fact that Tony's voice is just so good it covers on top of GM's makes this good.
isn't it sad ? GM is not as good as you think when placed with superior singers like Tony.

This is an your opinion?...well u dont know well George Michael then...why the ppl like u dont understand nothing of music??...is an shame!!!

15 Times grammy winner, sang longer than GM, got more awards, classic, known legend, no bad record, and you can't spell for peanuts.
Hmmm... I wonder...
