I am Turkish, and the Turkish saying is this "İsteyenin bir yüzü kara, vermeyenin iki yüzü" which literally means "One who asks for a favor has his one face dark, one who does not grant it has his two faces dark". Well, this saying is very old, and "black" here makes no reference to race.Black has a negative connotation and, meaning "shame".So the saying is "One who asks for a favor is already ashamed, but who who does not grant it is even more ashamed".

If, and it seems clear this is the case, the PKK have become as strong as the IRA, then Turkey can not defeat them, nor can the PKK hope to win much from Turkey, so their should be a peace agreement.

@firat784 as I understand it, the Kurds parties have been though many splits, they was a united party, then the PKK slip from that. If I am wrong, please feel free to educate me. War was for the 1940's when the Nazis made everything a free for all, peace is for the here and now. 1945 is the key year, if your group survived with history and such before that, your safe, if not, we will morn you, but can't do much to save you, after 1945 is tricky, not impossible, but tricky.
@firat784 Cyprus should be indepedent, and if possible totally united. It should not be part of Greece, nor Turkey, although it be easier if it were the latter than the former. I have a proposal for a united Cyprus flag, as I do think it should be united as one. Things would be better if Turkey had they honored the treaties, they did not, so I want Thrace and the two Greek islands under Turkey rule back, minimum.

The PKK are fighting for their own land and to be called Kurds, the Turkish government calls them Turks. There is no separatism. To defend youself you need to be attacked which they are not.

I am Turkish, and the Turkish saying is this "İsteyenin bir yüzü kara, vermeyenin iki yüzü" which literally means "One who asks for a favor has his one face dark, one who does not grant it has his two faces dark". Well, this saying is very old, and "black" here makes no reference to race.Black has a negative connotation and, meaning "shame".So the saying is "One who asks for a favor is already ashamed, but who who does not grant it is even more ashamed".

If, and it seems clear this is the case, the PKK have become as strong as the IRA, then Turkey can not defeat them, nor can the PKK hope to win much from Turkey, so their should be a peace agreement.

War was for the 1940's when the Nazis made everything a free for all, peace is for the here and now. 1945 is the key year, if your group survived with history and such before that, your safe, if not, we will morn you, but can't do much to save you, after 1945 is tricky, not impossible, but tricky.

I have a proposal for a united Cyprus flag, as I do think it should be united as one. Things would be better if Turkey had they honored the treaties, they did not, so I want Thrace and the two Greek islands under Turkey rule back, minimum.

@firat784 forgive me, I just have a personal dislike for Turkish peoples, cuz my grandfather was at Galipoli, and the crimes they have done against other peoples, after all Hitler learnt how to commit genocide based in part on the genocide the turks did during and after WW1. I can get past it to talk and negosheate, as I am a mercyful person, and maybe someday I will forgive your peoples, but atm I can't.

I don't understand why Cenk did the quote fingers thing when saying terrorist in relation to the PKK. The PKK are terrorists and no America does not help even half decently to you read wrong Cenk.

@ToolGhoul The definition of terrorist is A radical who uses terror as a political weapon, What do you call people who blow up buses with school kids on, Kill a baby in it's cott, force people to give them money or food and kill them and set mins on roads.
The PKK are fighting for their own land and to be called Kurds, the Turkish government calls them Turks. There is no separatism. To defend youself you need to be attacked which they are not.
So are the PKK terrorists? Yes they are.

@leventdesignUK you don't think laying claim to someone else's land, preventing them from speaking their own language and denying them their basic rights as well as treating them as second class citizen at best is not an insult, its not an attack? that is an attack, it is an attack of their future, on everything they stand for and care about. and they are not terrorists because Turkey does all those things and blames it on PKK to ruin the image of Kurds.

@TheScienceofnature Firstly I would like to start off by saying have you ever lived in Turkey? Have you been in the Turkish Armed Forces for 2 years? I have lived in Turkey and carried out 2 years national service in Diyarbakir and Tunceli the most Kurdish areas in Turkey.
I have witnessed bombings, murders and vandalism daily, I have taken lives and served along side Kurdish brothers in arms who also fight against the PKK, If a large number of Kurds accept the PKK as terrorists why can't you?

@MrOLevent you don't realize that Turkey has made a very bad example of the requirements on which a state can be established. so far to me it seems that any country can be established on any land regardless who it represents or what it represents. my point is that Turkey calls itself authority over a population of about 25 million Kurds who have revolted against that very authority in the past and continue to do, they are only silenced at the point of the sword.

@TheScienceofnature Other culture I. Turkey such as Greeks, Syrians, Romanians and Albanians are all extremely happy and have a large and homelike community. How can you say Turkey destructs cultures when it build them their own schools, religious buildings .etc without being asked. Turkey is not a bad but is a legal and fair establishment. You also need to stop separating Turks and Kurds. The majority of that 25 million class themselves as Turks and are happy and condemn the PKK
