I'm glad you joined HN. I've liked the shows I've seen so far, and adore that you listen to viewer comments. The shows getting even better. As for creamy items, I love custards, with Creme Brulee being my all time favorite dessert. Only suggestion I have at this point would be that unless your specifically trying to show us a food sound, please mute the mic for chewing. It's a bit unsettlinging to hear those noises amplified. Again, great show and it seems to be improving with each episode.
I know that commenting about frozen plastic food isn't very smart but cooked chicken meat is white, and also coocked industrial pasta is white, so where the hell are coming from all that nice and inviting color? C'mon it takes 10 min to cook some pasta and some chiken and mix them up with some parmigiano (the real stuff not the faked ones produced who knows where and how).
Sorry, but I have to disagree with the "Frozen Food Master" title. I really don't see a lot of uniqueness in this show. It's not special, and most of the things he does could easily be done by someone else- now, granted, no one else IS doing it, but the show isn't really personable in my eyes. I feel like it could be a lot more fun, and that he has the ability to make it like that, but so far . . .
I do allot of home cooking but once and a while I'll cheat and head down the freezer aisle. It is very important to me to make healthy choices for my family.
Living on the West Coast we got some great creamy clam chowder here.
@SuperMooseStudios Okay, to make it more simple. Greg chew's like that to SAVOR all of the taste, and to give a legitimate review. So please, next time do not focus on the way he chews, but the way he reviews.
Hmmm...I'm not sure what to think of this show. Is it possible that it could be a little shorter? I don't care what the doucebags say you're a good host, I just think it could be streamlined a bit so that we get to the point. Like you should have an editing rule that says you should be eating it by 1:30 or something
I much prefer these "frodowns" to just a one item review. Still struggling with the show concept, but I'll keep watching simply because I don't want to unsubscribe from Hungry Nation! Happy to see you are taking user comments and feedback seriously to improve your show.
By the way, your facial expressions while tasting the food in this episode are pretty hilarious.
i hate that even supposed health food products have corn syrup in it. i swear this country is so unhealthy thanks to corn syrup in almst every product even ones you don't expect like a savory food such as this. preparing your own foods from whole organic foods is the only way to be healthy in the us
@missionduorose So are you one of the people that thinks all sugar is bad or that corn syrup is somehow worse even though it's metabolized by the body the exact same way as other basic sugars?
I think you should try taking your organic food, wrap it in plastic, then cardboard, then freeze it and microwave it and see what it tastes like. Some things are necessary to make food convenient. It's a lot better than fast food. A few extra calories from sugar isn't going to make a big difference.
@gboyd242 First of all, High fructose corn syrup is not a basic sugar. it is derived from corn and they way they do it is chemically. 2nd of all it is not metabolized by the body like sugar is and it takes more insulin to absorb the high fructose corn syrup then sugar. that is why a growing number of children have type 2 diabetes. 3rd of all, there are many "convenient" foods that if you compare to fast food are just as bad in terms of saturated fat, sodium, and fillers.
@missionduorose High fructose corn syrup IS basic sugars. It's fructose and glucose mixed together and what is sucrose? It's fructose and glucose. In high fructose corn syrup there is usually 55% fructose and 50% in sucrose, that's biggest difference. Chemically meaning they used chemicals? How do you think you get sugar from a sugar beet (accounting for most of the the US's sucrose)? It doesn't take more insulin to digest according to scientific studies so I'm not sure why you think that.
@gboyd242 I understand americans want convenience, but at what price. The scale doesn't lie, processed foods are detrimental to the health of americans. and really, if you try hard enough you can find healthy alternatives that are just as convenient. Do the research and see. high fructose corn syrup is cheaper then sugar thanks to the tariffs placed on cane sugar and it is used in almost everything, even foods you wouldn't expect should have it. wake up and smell the processed food.
@gboyd242 lastly im not saying sugar is bad for you. Cane sugar is actually good for you in moderate amounts. I;m saying high fructose corn syrup is bad for you especially if you ingest great amts of it. and people arent even aware they are because the savory foods they eat actually contain it.
@missionduorose All sugar is bad for you. It's not necessary for a persons diet in any way. Cane sugar, sucrose, fructose or any other kind of sugar. Your body can make all the sugar it needs from starches. If there wasn't corn syrup hidden in the foods you're talking about it would be sucrose.
@gboyd242 Actually, what you mean to say or what you should be saying is that "SWEETS," i.e. excess sugar intake, is bad for you; which is completely true. While it is true that your body can convert starches into glucose units it is not true that sugar is bad for you. For example, sugars in fruits are very good for your body because they provide the immediate energy that your body needs and they make you feel fuller due to the fiber content. Remember, your brain functions on glucose (sugar).
@missionduorose Be careful now, savory PROCESSED foods the average individual consumes contain high fructose corn syrup. Savory wholesome foods contain unadulterated simple sugars and starches that can be more readily broken down and utilized by the body.
