great version of the song, thank tou very much, i just need to learn it in time for the cup final tomorrow( i will be singing feilds of anfeild road though )
@KARLOB84 Hey....delighted that you learned it and well done to Liverpool yesterday (you guys might want to brush up on your penalty taking though !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Not my usual sort of thing, but I've got a St. Paddy's gig coming up and you've been an excellent find. Thanks very much. First time I've heard this song and the tears are streaming!
@patrick442222 Delighted that you liked the "little bit of history" with each song. I was not sure whether this was of interest to people but I think a tiny bit of background is good for a better overall understanding of the song.
I really LOVE your attitude my friend....you will have no problem at all once you are that positive...and it is far from rocket science !! Enjoy and prosper !
Im just learning the guitar and this song is one of the reasons I want to learn to play! Great lesson, great video. Thank you very much. It will take me a while but I WILL learn it! :)
@MrRockuk Good question ! Most of my technique in both strumming and picking in simply "feel". Send me an e-mail and we might be able to chat on the phone and perhaps I can give you a tip or two. dilligaf@ireland.com
@Patbennett71 Pat, I am not doing a lot of playing just at present. I work a lot during the summer season in places like the Ceili in Bunratty and several pubs and clubs in places like Kilkee etc. I will be doing a bit of playing around Christmas but primarly at this time of year I write and learn material....as well as doing the odd video !
@johnbhoyc67 Thanks my friend and point taken about the slight difference in the lyrics. You may very well be right because the version I sing here is one I learned by listening to other singers and they sometimes put their own touch to the lyrics. I will check it out but either way enjoy it and if you are singing then do the version you know.
@clanmorversifier Hah ! a song I sing night after night ! I will include it in the neaf future.......a lot of verses in that one !! Thanks for the post.
@woodedape Sure ! The capo is only put on to suit your voice in this case. If it is okay for your singing just playing it in straight D then all the better !! Enjoy
