  • But where are the dice?

  • Owww

    *looks at axe*

    damnit

  • Weighted die. It's the only explanation.

  • This was the worst scene ever. This is perfect if you want to ruin someone's love for 40K. I'm a huge Chaos fan, and I have to say this angers me. Black Legion use tactics and it's safe to say that the Ultramarines and Imperial Fists would of been butchered by being fired upon in the open. Not that I hate Loyalist fans, but this is complete fanwanking.

Either the movie makers had autism or they ran out of ideas or even both.

  • @Tighen31305 To be fair, they lost half their men by the end of the firefight.

Did you consider thought that they were using tactics? The headlong charge without intentionally over-running them right off gave their captain, who was possessed, enough opportunity to come back, "Rescue" them from a few extra Chaos marines, then "Escape" with them with the plan of ultimately bringing a Chaos incursion straight to Macragge. You sir, completely missed the whole damn story in your rage.

  • @WolfFawkes It's a corny movie. The fight scenes were horrid, and the tactics were shit. The Black Legionnaires wouldn't of lost any men if they stayed range. Clearly they're commander doesn't know shit, or it was purposely done to make the Chaos soldiers look like morons and the Ultramarines look like badasses.

    Fanwanking.

    Fanwanking to the max.

  • @Tighen31305 Black Legion? Tactics? Look. I'm not even going to argue the point. I'm just going to say Abbadon, 16 Black Crusades and Beaten by the Imperial Guard. You fill in the rest and assume I'm not bothering with someone who can't understand what "Higher purpose" means.

  • chaplin was like "FUCK DA POLICE!" before using his power. seriously, the amount of shit he gave was more or less zilch.

  • The Chaos Space Marines got some pretty sick rolls.

  • those armor suit look heavy...

    they can hardly move

  • @kietliu they have a series a of implants that in general make them much stronger than regular humans. they also have an implant that basically makes them and the suit 1 allowing for much smother movement

  • @kietliu You're looking at between 1.5-3tonnes per suit. These guys are on average 7-9ft tall WITHOUT armour. With armour they can run all day and all night and hardly break a sweat. They're seriously tough humans that have been genetically engineered to be quicker, faster, tougher, trained for one purpose-war. Search the Warhammer 40,000 wiki for more info.

  • @wasp27 Power Armour is only powered enough to cancel it's own weight. It doesn't make them stronger, it just affords them the same level of protection you'd get from riding in a modern day armoured car.. Or perhaps morel like an average light tank from the late 1930s. So, small arms fire would bounce off them. Astartes bolter shells, which are .75 caliber AND rocket engine propelled for extra armour penetrating goodness.... won't bounce off nearly as much.

  • There is something wrong =/ I KNOW there is supposed to say something on the slow-mo bullet, I have seen this whole movie, but i can't see it in the vid, it's just a blank bullet.. why? I am so confused..

  • @Dahxelb That's another scene. On the bolt that is flying out of the Heavy Bolter, there is the incision "Kill the Heretic.",but again, that's another scene.

  • @GKJusticar55 oh, thanks! I KNEW it would say something in style with "Kill/burn the heretic/mutant" or something. but it was a long time ago, so must have mistaken the scene. thanks for the help.

  • The animations are a tad bit questionable for modern-day standards, but for what it's worth; Ultramarines was a pretty good movie! =)

  • Burn Heretic !! I love this part

  • Goddamn, what is their armor made of paper? Can't space marine shrug off a few bolter rounds before the person is actually hit? Well either way I sure as hell know a space marine wouldn't be phased by ONE bolt pistol shot to the chest in FULL ARMOR.

  • @orkkilla5589 it's just a movie relax. If it was based on Warhammer it wouldn't be an action movie nor half as interesting. Just a bunched of overpowered marines shooting at each other all day, non of them taking a hit.

  • Bolter and Chainsword .... the only way to be

  • wow did you make this? this could be on tv

  • marines dont get gunned down easily like that

  • They didn't even have a heavy bolter, what team leaves behind a heavy bolter! They would of had no losses :[

  • I thought chaos marines were much older and more powerful then normal space marines? Like in some books there are only 1 or 2 chaos marines running an entire system to find some old artifact or something. Or am I thinking of some other chaos thing?

  • @CaptainFeltcher It depends really.

  • @CaptainFeltcher that's not ever true. It depends by the chapters, maybe you've seen chosen chaos marines or alpha legion cultists, the most powerful of the Chaos Forces. These are Ultramarines, and of course they're one of the best chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, like the Black Templars and the Blood Angels.

  • @CaptainFeltcher some chaos marines are real beasts, often an aspiring champion, or just chaos champion, and may or may not become favored the the greater chaos gods, might be granted the title as a chaos lord if the dark gods smile their way, and might even, in some really rare chases, the get the honor of ascending to demonhood. And they started as a single corrupted space marine, often low rank one (because high rank is not easy to corrupt), so anywhere between a mad SM to a half demon CSM..

  • two tonnes of body armor and it cant stop a single bullit. What the fuck?

  • @Snapshot290 there special bullets. no seriously there explosive amour penatration so yeah

  • I THOUGHT IT WAS COOL AS SHIT! GREAT JOB MAN!!! I'D LIKE TO SEE THESE PEOPLE WHO TALK SMACK DO WHAT YOU HAVE! YOU GOT TALENT MAN...LETS HOPE GEORGE LUCAS HIRES YOU!

  • @TheHORIARI Dude, uhm.....I'd have loved to be th one to make this, but I doidn't, this was a scene from a movie.

  • Of course the CSMs died en masse, they were black legion, the biggest failures chaos has yet to see.

  • Pretty good how long did it take to make it.

  • You know what the developers overlooked.

they overlooked that the fact the shoulder trim for the 4th company is green not gold like the 2nd company

  • Friend: Who do you think is the best special task force? I think its the JTF2 they-

    Me: ULTRAMARINES!!!!!!!!

  • For a some what indie movie, this is truly underrated. That and I love me some heretic slaying!

  • Chaos Space Marines, bane of the Imperium. Can't hit for shit.

  • I like this but the space marines seem to nimble.

  • im trying to find out how to make stuff like this but i dont hae any money so im stuck on blender if any1 knows any better free programs let me know please

  • absolutely love what the Chaplain did! BURN HERETICS!

  • also since when would space marines of any chapter accuse a chaplain of heresy (later on in the film they accuse the chaplain of heresy LOL midfuck) yeah a marine is a fanatic but chaplains take it to a whole new level

  • i personally enjoyed the film for a low budget indie flick its good and has a few good names in taboot (john hurt!) but i also have to argue at the fact that like what WolfFawkes inexperienced"

space marines dont exist there warriors from decades of battle begging usally as scouts for years a 75yr old marine is still a young-un in there eyes, also each marine is genetically modified a bullet (even from a bolter which themselves are like fast firing grenade launchers) round wont kill a marine

  • I didn't think that Chaos was dumb enough to run in haphazardly. I also didn't know a single squad of Ultramarines could take that many Chaos Space marines.

Meh, what do I know? I like the Sisters of Battle, I must be wrong.

  • Am i watching the same film as u guys, coz i thought this was amazing. Besides the fact that the enemy just kept running in using no tactics at all, i really thought this was good and the voice acting fitted perfectly.

  • @ic3ciara sorry, im on a phone so spelling is off

  • @crabid iin the ehes of the imperium the emporer, being the first astartes, was a god

  • I call complete bullshit of the "Inexperienced" thing here. I think even the film makers forgot that Marines spend over a hundred years training for war and have to prove themselves in battle as scouts before they get their power armour. There's no "First time" about it. If they got their power armour without being in the 10th Company first, then there's a continuity error here.

  • @WolfFawkes Of all the criticism I have seen thrown on this movie, this has been the most sensible and truth-founded. Thank you mister, at least you didn't bitch about the CSm dying too fast, or the graphics or any of that nonsense.

  • @GKJusticar55 I think the CGI was actually pretty decent given their smaller budget. It correctly displayed the grimdark feel of the universe. And the CSMs....Well... hell! They charged blindly. Of course they're going to get mowed down! That's just tactics. The loyalists also fired in very short, controlled bursts. It's no wonder they wouldn't need to reload as much. 20,000 years of combat experience is meaningless if you don't use it.

  • @GKJusticar55 also I don't believe that chaplains are able to use psychic powers but I haven't seen the movie so I don't know what circumstances arrive.

  • @GKJusticar55 If you got the collectors edition, it comes with a comic, they were all recruits that were at the end of their training. But were upgraded a little early to fight in this mission, or something as such.

  • @WolfFawkes Agreed bro.

  • @WolfFawkes Maybe they'd just finished their service in 10th Company and considered this their first battle as 'true' Space Marines...

  • @WolfFawkes You should be calling bullshit on a lot more stuff

  • @Gamberbro237 Not really. The movie was pretty accurate aside from that. Often times marines are just very seriously wounded...but here, they couldn't be their normally "Pure awesomeness" because they're fighting an enemy who was similarly equipped. It's just Chaos has a problem having real warriors by this point. All the great ones died in the Horus Heresy before they were banished to the warp to become immortal.

  • Honestly, Im a WH40K fan, aswell as Dan's novels (supposed storywriter) and Im dissapointed. Even if the animation is ok, it's still far off the years old dawn of war intro, not comparing to the new trailers from dow2. The voice acting is horrible ( not convincing at all) and the story, hmm.... i just leave the story alone.

  • anyone know if another movie is coming out soon or in production?

  • this movie was absolutetly terrible.. and im so tired of seeing the ultrasmurfs

  • They're awfully timid for Space Marines. Figures they're 'inexperienced', but really, they don't even get their armor before they're experienced so it still doesn't make sense. There are Imperial Guards with larger testicles then these guys, and their balls aren't even genetically enhanced.

  • unlimited fucking bullets

  • The voice acting is the only good part about this movie

  • The only thing I don't like about this is the fact that the Chaos Space Marines are in fact same in just about anything as the Ultramarines, but are showing them falling easily to Bolter fire while the Ultramarines take multiple shots before they die...also, if the fact is true and the UM are infact inexperienced, CSM have experience of hundreds, if not thousands of years of warfare, especially if they are the Black Legion.

  • its awesome how they gave the Chaplain 2 wounds :P

  • Note majority of those Ultramarines are actually newer "inexperienced" members of the Chapter.

  • this was literally the only good part of the movie

  • I'm new to the Warmhammer universe and just got done playing Space Marine, which I loved. Is this movie worth watching? It certainly looks to have the same continuety (especially in graphics and sound) as the video game.

  • @somethinglacking1 Not really, not if you are new to to Warhammer. There is an awesome film "Damnatus", though, which defenitely does.

  • @Lesandro6203 Thank you! I shall check it out :)

  • 2:40 Lotta good those giant pauldrons did ya.

  • @powerman923 The Axe Hit Im In Between The Pauldrons And His Breatplate Theres Weakness There It Was A Damn Good Shot I Think I Slid Slightly Off The Side Of His Breatplate Thought

  • @Diamondbane Breastplate*x2*

  • THAT is from the official movie? Horrible voice acting, nothing funny or exceptional in the dialogue (except the snarky remark of the Apothecarius), awful CGI that a 10th grader on a laptop could make better. Lots of dust which is lame, weak animations (the guy jumping into battle does not move his MOUTH when talking) and bad fight choerography. Seriously, they should simply have asked the makers of DoW 2 to lend them a hand. I can only imagine the makers were Ultra Marine detractors, really.

  • Burn the heretic!!!

  • The old adage 'if you cant do something properly, dont do it at all' springs to mind. Havent seen the entire movie, but on that evidence i wont be watching it. Terrible voice acting. Truely awful. The special effects? Some might say whats special about it? I have seen better amateur attempts on youtube. I honestly dont know what they were thinking. I love 40k but thats just embarrasing. How can they commission a movie so vastly inferior to the games produced by Relic?

  • Sisters of battle nuff said

  • Yeah! Für den Imperator! xD Ich kann 21 Warhammer 40.000 Romane mein Eigen nennen

  • i though spacemarines

  • damn the Chaplain is like "come at me bro"

  • Ah to be convince of a noble cause to kill. FOR THE EMPEROR! HAIL! HAIL! LONG LIVE THE EMPEROR! lol

  • /watch?v=mkxdXj7PxRU

this video + link music = masterpiece!

  • That voice acting is bloody awfull :(

  • @skinner014569 No it isn't.

  • @skinner014569 The voice acting was one of the best features of the movie.

  • @skinner014569 animation is awfull not voice acting

  • @skinner014569 The voice acting is actually pretty damn good. THey got really good voice actors for it too, check IMDB. They didn't just pull random assholes off the street like Syfy channel does for their original movies. They got bigger name actors to do it, one of them being the son of another actor who portrayed The Doctor in the earlier years of Doctor Who.

  • @skinner014569 John hurt!? the chaplin! SEERIOUSLY!?

  • @supervillan John Hurt was Pythol. Not the chaplain.

  • @GKJusticar55 Donald stumper played Pythol Carnak was john hurt seriously look it up :P its no big deal all great actors anyway :D

  • They use the Psalm with a little twist lol, and that's what the Satan's doing for thousands years. Psalm 121: The LORD will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going

    both now and forevermore.

  • BURN THE HERETICS! ^.^

  • is that Sean Pertwee?

  • @DeffKrieg

You bet your keister meester :P

  • I use to Be an Ultra marine then i took an arrow in the knee.

  • @Thederrick120

shouldnt it be a " a bolter round to the knee"

  • the chaplain looks fuckin nasty. good job!

  • @raargh2 You have a point and I apologize

  • head wound... fatal

  • Please note that this movie was only done with the PERMISSION of GW. Codex Pictures did this out of own pocket, no funding from Games Workshop at all, so before you go bashing it, think and perhaps check your facts. As far as I am concerned anyone who bashes this is not a TRUE fan, a true fan would be merely happy that there is a movie at all that hasn't been banned for not being GW sanctioned regardless of quality.

  • @Cyclone126 i disagree.Being a fan dont mean remove your critic sense. Its not a matter of graphic.Every aspect of this movie was poor. How SP were portraited, how the story unfold etc

its just one of the many examples of GWS horrible use of their IP.How many failed videogames we had to suffer before DoW?how many "fanfiction" books before new authors lifted the quality of their work?

GWS need to understand that selling overpriced miniatures to teenagers wont keep them floating for much

  • nice playstation era animation there gw

  • this looks..... terrible

  • Heh not even the SM can stand before the greater good so bring it on

  • FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!!

  • I have no clue or any idea about this, I don't have the knowledge im guessing this is a kids movie..

  • @SweatyNutSack69 Haha no, Warhammer is a fine and bloody movie as well as being a successful gaming franchise... NO KIDS ALLOWED

  • @SweatyNutSack69 This is based on the Warhammer40000 universe, where torture, genocide, and xenophoby is normal for the good guys (you can imagine what the bad guys do)

Humanity is a galaxywide dictatorial theocratic empire where citizens are nothing more than numbers and slaves, in conflict with dozen of alien races from 10000years

THIS however, was a low budget, badly done attempt to do a movie based on it. As you can see, it failed (horribly) to live up to our expectations

  • Comment removed

  • LOL

  • horrible, horrible lack of sense in this movie. The Black Legion, were led by Horus himself in the old days, they are certainly far experienced than a unit of newbie ultrasmurfs! And to die in hordes!

Marines walking on thin wooden bridges, bolter rounds not exploding, Battle Barge being very empty, this is just a steaming pile of crap.

  • A ChainSword nice!

  • Comment removed

  • This is why you keep Chaos Marines with Bolters and leave close combat to Khorne Bezerkers

  • @CutingDoom Yes.

  • 1:04 gotta love the duel weilding chaos marine though

  • cerberus has aimbot :D

  • >:^( PURGE THE HERETICS, CLEANSE THE FILTH OF CHAOS WITH FLAMER AND BOLTER >:^0 AHHHHHHHHH

  • Two things: the chaos space marines took their tactics from orks and the space marine's dice must be jacked.

  • @TheOverlordJay2 nope

10000 years of chaos induced drugs can do things to a guys aim

  • are bolter rounds really powerful enough to punch through aquila power armour so easily

  • @Arzaker if you think about it on the chouse it is. on the noremals not as much. the tatiors have outdate amor from prehareu to hauers and the norsms migth have gotten some upgarted in the time between. idk just trieing to help.

  • @Arzaker well the fact that bolter rounds are mini rocket propelled rockets, i'd say so, and who knows, maybe they were using Kraken penetration rounds.

  • @Insanitygamer

large spinning shells with compact explosive compounds inside that are capable of giving a normal man a closed coffin funeral you have point

if a standard bolter is good enough then a kraken would be even better

  • @Arzaker well by the rules of the game it has AP5 vs. Armor Save 3+ so no, but according to some legends about long forgotten ways how to really do bolter ammo, it is designed to penetrate something hard and then when it hits something soft there after it will explode. Not like a grenade but like a fleschette round. Just to make things clear, they still do bolter ammo, but hardly anyone knows how, they just do as the "old books" tells. "put the metal here, and the machine does the rest."

  • @Arzaker No, they have AP5, clearly not nearly enough to penetrate 3+ armour meaning they have to rely on weak spots.

Not to mention; "the emperor will protect me", sounds an awful lot like those ultramarines worship him like a god, that's a bit wrong is it not : /

  • @crabid i always thought they usually serve him like a king rather than a god

  • @crabid You forget, the Emperor is seen as a god in the Imperium. He didn't want to be, but ultimately had no choice as the Ecclesiarchy declared him so and raised shrines to praise him. Hard for a man, near dead in a stasis field and on life support to voice his opinion about his own preference on deification.

  • @WolfFawkes Aha ok, post heresy heresy! Guess I need to get through the heresy books faster.

  • @Arzaker that depends on model type of bolter rounds and placement of shots a space marine in the most recent version of the aquilla could probably take several hits from a bolter before hes at least incapacitated . CMS? because they dont readilly have upgrades on weapons or armor its a complete toss up for them

  • now, as a casual warhammer fan, you will like this movie, as someone who lieks the LORE then you wont at all becuase it barely follows it. if memory serves me right, this is the movie where the space marines act like jarheads and crack one liners....Also the chaos are 100% out of character....Unless they have 50% of their bodies to be mutations THEY ARE NOT GOING TO GROWL LIKE A TYRANID OR CHARGE BLINDLY LIKE ONE....a khorne army would charge like that but scream BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD

  • @madmike1 and they are not knorneites because they are not world eaters. i don't know what the ligion is but they migth but i think if you go by legion it is not. i never saw the movie. no offens just wanted to help.

  • So the Chaos marines killed 100 Imperial fists but couldn't Handel these muppets

  • Wow, this is shite.

  • @Syrath101 agreed. awful stuff for kids. And the voices are piss poor

  • I see the entire film a lot of taims, but, WHY, only WHY their armor cant stop only one bolter projectile? It seems so strange see Space marines die for a single bolter shot :\

  • when did this movie come out

  • is that dudes face a skull or??? helmet

  • @danjup1 Thats a Chaplain, their helmet is skull shaped.

  • Crap movie. All CGi cutscenes in all 40K games the last 10 years looks better. And the story wasnt well executed either. Shame (sad).

  • @jadeLoTuZ Dude, seeing as this was made by an UNPAID FAN, and those cutscenes were made by multi-million budgeted games designers, I think this is pretty fricking awesome.

Besides, they're better than the Fire Warrior cutscenes.

  • not bad but the chaplain should be wearing terminator armor if u ask me

  • my reaction pa report by those who do warhammer 40000 1:26

  • The animation is worse than the Cutscenes from Dawn of War 2. That's a shame.

  • lel ultrasmurfs

  • i actually like chaos better

  • Haha, yeah this is pretty much what a tabletop battle between Sternguard Veterans on high ground and attacking Khorne Berzerkers looks like.

  • Unreal (

  • It seems that the chaos space marines rolled a 1 on every armor save they had.

  • @abc114able Their plot armour is weak.

    The Emperor Protects.

  • @LordSia13 Certainly so.

  • @memorex3248 And what if they had none of that? Oops I'm sorry possible survivors, we don't have backup, so, if you're out there, you're fucked. So you're blaming the Ultras for having no cover? That ain't their fault, besides, Oreas died because he stepped forward and he got picked off. Who or what says that a battle barge goes in with no support? Excuse me, didn't DanAbnett write this script? Were you actually paying attention while writing or even watching this movie?

  • GKJusticar55 well getting shot at, I mean why bother looking for cover it could only save your life, no problem. They also where the only force sent in, no air cover, no orbital support, no additional units. Good call. And facing an overwhelming force head to head in open terrain, again with no cover. Fucking brilliant.

  • GKJusticar55 no you idiot. When a drop ship or anykind of aircraft goes ANYWHERE it is always backed up by escorts or gunships, they never go in alone. Ever. This is also what wingmen are for. And yes a mysterious signal, but don't bother on giving them intel as to the conditions on the ground, the terrain, the weather, what to expect or what to do if say for example everybody is dead and theres a fucking demon waiting for them. I noticed you didn't bother with them standing out in the open well

  • 2:40 That is the fucking definition of badass.

  • Comment removed

  • @Itachi21x Khorne berserkers are nowhere to be seen here.

  • @GKjusticar55 let's go back shall we? First of all, sending in a drop ship with no support/ no cover into hostile territory. Second, no briefing to the troops about intel, mission objectives, terrain info, battle place, contingency plans, etc. Walking across a bridge with NO COVER and staying out in the open when under heavy enemy fire. Good job. Not checking your corners as your clearing a room is another good way to get killed as was shown and having no idea how to even tactically fall back.

  • @memorex3248 They had no support, and a they were in a hurry to address the distress call, the nearest support available was six weeks away, they had no intel, since it was just a help message, your etc is actually null and void since it doesn't suggest anything else, and besides, that's why you send in Space Marines, because you have nothing to go on. They checked their corners, a shame that even if you did, the daemon in shadow form would kill you anyway and besides, it killed only one marine.

  • @memorex3248 codex astartes states that ultramarines(and all others in this case) are to go with the mission or die die trying, famouse quote here, "if a jobs worth doing, its worth dying for" and besodes, theyr freaking ultramarins agaisnt the retarded forces of khaos. most of em shoulda lived i think.

  • Movie wasn't that bad, could've been longer... and better... but overall not a bad watch if your board and nothing better to do. I enjoyed it.

Also, Space Marine tactics are like those of fucking 3rd World Countries. Utter shit and no idea about the even the basic concept of strategy. Its no wonder they all die within the first 20 min, cause they have no idea what they're doing.

  • @memorex3248 To the first part of your comment I can absolutely agree with.

To the second part however I must object, for I believe that when you wrote that, you had your head firmly implanted in your rectal cavity.

  • @memorex3248 And kind of pointless to wear that kind of armor when nearly everything seems to penetrate it.

  • @progress200 to be fair, a bolter round is a small nuke.

  • @ftrain65 No it isn't, it is a small mass reactive shell, it's a rocket.

  • @memorex3248 ok, they do have an idea of what they're doing, and they have tactics that giants with ridiculously strong armour would have, the only reason they die so easily in this is because they're fighting chaos space marines, who are the only foe in the galaxy (other than tyranids) which space marines should be wary of, orks are idiotic, eldar are weakly armoured, rogue Imperial guard are just cannon fodder... if you read the book helsreach, you'll understand how good their tactics are.

  • This is a movie? Holy crap I have got to get it! I think they got the fire speed and sound of the bolters perfect. However the Chaos marines wouldn't charge in and get wiped like that, they would rush their cultists forward as fodder and then charge in behind them.

  • @rlilewis I know dude, take a look at the comments down here, that's all people bitch about "I saw this movie, it was utter shit." "Bad CGI, bad animation, bad storyline, lore holes, the list goes on and on" etc, the list is painfully long, to me it is good, don't expect transformers graphics because you'll get none.

  • I saw this movie, it was utter shit.

  • @screwmanx And why's that? Btw it wasn't it isn't and it never will be.

  • @GKJusticar55 LOL the list is endless. Bad CGI, bad animation, bad storyline, lore holes, the list goes on and on
