@Chelinoization Yes, the UK & US have always been warmongers, but in the past Germany was as well. It isn't today of course. You're right, the UK & US din't know about the Holocaust when they decided to fight Nazi Germany, but they did know that Nazi Germany was hell-bent on "Blitzkrieg" in an effort to increase its own power. Even if Nazi Germany hadn't tried to gain air supremacy over the UK's skies, the UK would have felt extremely threatened by the thought of Germany being the master of
@Chelinoization Europe, in a similar way to the way it felt threatened by Napoleon's attempt to become master of Europe. Germany had already considerably dented the UK's place in the world as an industrial powerhouse, which was even more important to the UK than its empire. Of course the fact that Italy intended on ruling much of North Africa, which would diminish the UK's dominance in the Eastern Mediterranean, which was the route to Suez & India, the jewel in the crown of the British Empire,
@Chelinoization & the apparent aim of Japan to expand into the British colonies in South-East Asia probably made the UK feel threatened as well. The fact that all 3 of these countries had become allied made the UK feel very threatened indeed. There reached a point where war was just around the corner. Of course they say that Hitler didn't really want to fight the UK, but his allies, Mussolini & Hirohito, certainly weren't so scrupulous. Also, invading Poland probably didn't help, seeing as the
@Chelinoization Poles were allies with the UK, cos they wanted to preserve it as a buffer state between the naughty Nazis & the bulshy Bolsheviks. Of course this was maybe just an excuse, like the invasion of Belgium was in WWI, cos the UK certainly didn't fight the Soviets, even though they invaded Poland as well.
please, start your brain, before you write.sure all the wars was`nt good.but what do you doing whithout the germans???no tv,no fridge,no rockets,no a-bomb,no walk on the moon, and and and,are you proud now???what was your last big think,hm....financial crisis, thats great and thak u for nothinks...
@odin240270 I think the world would be a better place without the a-bomb, but that's just my opinion. Of course that doesn't detract from the many contributions to the world made by the Germans.

Yes, Britain and France had their own agendas which were not totally moral, and which they have tended not to mention since the war, preferring to portray themselves as the selfless protectors of democracy etc., but it was Nazi Germany, along with Fascist Italy and Imperial Japan who made Britain and France feel threatened enough that they thought they had no choice but to declare war after Nazi German invaded Poland, a country which Britain and France had signed mutual defence treaties with.
There is no such thing as selfless interests in any war by any nation. Nations enter wars in pursuit of selffish interests and thats the thick an thin of it.
@robsargent4 ever sind wwI the uk wanted to wipe germany out of europe, so that they would be the #1 power in europe. they also turned down numerous peace offers by hitler in 1939 and 1940. and of course they had their own agendas. but you dont learn that in school.
why do you think there are still so many dokuments and stuff locked up and not made public? someone has something to hide...
I don't care whether Nazi Germany wanted war with the West. They wanted to create a "living space" in central and eastern Europe and that was the spark which started the second world war.
...then the officers were sent off to a posh camp where they could spend all day making vaulting horses, digging tunnels and building gliders. The ordinary blokes were sent somewhere a bit more downmarket.
It's true that Hitler's main target was in the East : Conquering land over the "Slavic undermen" to feed the German people's expansion, and destroy "Jewish Bolshevism". He expected the lame western democracies to bow again - a major political mistake. When France and Britain declared war, the German army just retrieved its old offensive plans against France and updated them. Hitler still had no plans to invade Britain, which he came to regret in July 1940. Hence, his failure.

The fufrer was "planning" since you invaded Poland mate
GrittyPunk 2 years ago
Hitler did not plan war with UK, British Historian Alan Bullock proves it together with ducuments signed by Hitler.
Britian wanted war in 1914 and they needed a new one in 1939
