  • i cannot like this video enough

  • @motherfucker669 ironic that your bible condemns profanity and hatred of others, and yet you seem so bitter to anyone who threatens or opposes your point of view.

  • That piece of shit is roasting in hell where he belongs

  • @motherfucker669 I think it's a pity for him that there is no heaven for him to go to, god would have had the luck to learn a lot from Him

  • @motherfucker669 You're a christian? Why don't you forgive him? Isn't that what Christ would do?

  • Does anyone know the music used in this video?

  • When the bones of prehistoric animals began to be discovered and scrutinized in the nineteenth century, there were those who said that the fossils had been placed in the rock by god, in order to test our faith. This cannot be disproved. Nor can my own pet theory that, from the patterns of behavior that are observable, we may infer a design that makes planet earth, all unknown to us, a prison colony and lunatic asylum that is employed as a dumping ground by far-off and superior civilizations. -CH

  • We will take it from here

  • What an inspiration he was.

  • Love Hitch!!!!

  • @drstrangelove09 Same here, I think I've about watched every bit of camera that's been put in his face that's available. Let's keep this party going for him, cheers! Only commented bc I saw your username - one of Kubrick's best in my opinion.

  • @PHOSPH3R Yeah, Hitch was great wasn't he?! Glad you like the movie Dr. Strangelove too! My favorite movie. :)

  • Public service announcement:

Three books by Christopher Hitchens that had gone out of print will be revived in paperback and e-book, the publishers of the titles said. Twelve, an imprint of the Hachette Book Group, will release the three books on April 10. The titles are “The Missionary Position,” a study of Mother Teresa; “No One Left to Lie To,” a best-selling examination of Bill Clinton; and “The Trial of Henry Kissinger.”

  • A Hero to Faggots everywhere.

  • @ThePussyKicker You are a sad little man living out a sad and pathetic life.

  • take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness, truth, beauty and wisdom will come to you that way.

  • one of the greatest intelectual's of our time. he gave a voice to millions who have been voiceless in our society. long live the hitchslap.

  • @wakeb1444 couldnt have said it better myself

  • @TOMHYLE88 there is no god and your a jerk. so god sent himself to earth as his son to go on a suicide mission so he could be ok with forgiving you for how he made yoou????ooook

  • @LookForThetruth11 Truthslapped, haha.

  • but he was never happy! im happy as a christian.

  • @thewilllane

"The fact that a believer is happier than a sceptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality." -- George Bernard Shaw

He said it better than I could.

Now why did you assume Hitchens was not happy as he was? You should tone down your arrogance.

  • but he was never happy! im happy as a christian.

  • While you were out, Hitchens called. He wants a drink of water, pronto.

  • @sensibleadult

I suspect he would prefer a nice single malt... but carry on.

  • We will take it from here... but they are mighty big shoes to fill ..

  • God bless him

  • @TOMHYLE88 Good one xD

  • Hitchens truly was a great man. he taught me I shouldn't be ashamed of being an atheist. I've never met the man, but he means something dear to me and his words have made a large impact on my life and I'm sure on the lives of many others. rest in peace Christopher.

  • Great tribute. I already miss Hitch.

  • Funny.... He was a self proclaimed Marxist.... There is some genius ideology... Fundamentally flawed and history proves it... What a brilliant guy.... Why is it that prominent Atheists usually are communist sympathizers?

  • @imax1971 to believe that ideologies such as marxism can actually be applied to macro-social frameworks betrays a naive understanding of history and social structures. all major societies bend towards plutocracy, and industrialization has paved the way for the rise of state-corporatism (now evolving into neoliberal globalisation). and his proclamation of marxism came with a denunciation of socialism (at least later in life). he accepted marx's contention of a materialist based view of history...

  • @wakeb1444 i guess what i'm trying to say is that maybe you should spend some time reading hitch's material before you go and make a fool of yourself in front of every intelligent person on the world wide web. cure yourself of ignorance before you try and take on one of the greatest intellectual giants of our time.

  • "Go love your own enemies, don't be loving mine. My enemies are the theocratic fascists I don't love them, I want to destroy them."- Christopher Hitchens

  • @jordanmylesevans Hitchens - The Brawn...and The Brain lol.

  • The Mack Daddy of Atheism

  • Thank you Mr hitchens! - goodbye and thank you! My friend who never knew me, but gave so much...

  • Mr. Hitchens we will tell stories about you for all time and in that you have become immortal.

  • Christopher Hitcens was not just an Atheist, he was also an intellectual and if you can't respct himfor that at the least then you damn yourself to your own ignorance. RIP Hitchens where ever your not.

  • What a great tribute to a great man.

    Thank you very much.

  • The most high functioning drunk in history

  • Hitchens was a dick.

  • @SYNYSTERfknGATES Sorry,no trolls allowed...

  • @MrSaxman321 The man flew a banner for the war. He was a dick. Making a statement that someone disagrees with, contrary to your elementary belief, is not trolling you pig suckling dead head.

  • @SYNYSTERfknGATES True. But that doesn't mean he wasn't right.

  • can i ask for evidence?

  • There is not a single day for me without Hitchens. Whenever I relax, I read or listen to Hitchens, missed him a lot :)

  • Wow! Christopher died?! I had no idea.

  • SIr Hitchens, you made me realize I was always an atheist. Thanks for making that light shine even brighter, ever since I discovered your intellect.

  • what a mind, a true, true inspiration. Never met the man, but I am overcome with sadness that humanity no longer has him to draw apon. A one-off has left the building, rest in peace Hitch we will miss you

  • A very blunt and to the point man. He definitely will be missed.

  • he speaks such truths grow up and open your eyes to see he and his message is so important for humanity to real grow.

  • True enough Hitch ...... Religion, is a divisive, evil enterprise that along with Fox News has caused what may be repairable damage to our Republic.

  • Hitchens always owned them like a sir!

  • Watch, on You-Tube, G. Edward Griffin's documentary: "World Without Cancer" & subsequent interviews.

  • Thank you for this great compilation. Only one thing I disagree with - that there's plenty of time in the grave for silence. Lets make him wrong on that and keep his voice travelling round the world til there's no-one left who needs to learn to think for themselves and stand up for the right to do so

  • Excellent work.

  • destroying everyone that stands against him

  • @SufferInJuly Fluor is good for you.

  • One of the greatest men of the 20th century! Thankyou Christopher I shall never forget you and all you tried to do!

  • @TheMuskokaman : Your boyfriend is maggot meat. Move on.

  • @SufferInJuly So you don't like Gays? What's the matter pumpkin too much man for ya?

  • @TheMuskokaman Your personal problems ARE important. Write of them here.

  • @SufferInJuly Tell me oh one who suffers in july does it bother you that some guy is sucking some other guys tool right now?

  • @TheMuskokaman why does it bother you so much?

  • @CompleteCanineCare It was actually a response to a homophobe who has since removed his comments!

  • @TheMuskokaman and my apologies, I was actually trying to respond to him too but clearly got everything upside down and back to front (just like he did!)

  • @SufferInJuly Tell me oh one who suffers in july does it bother you that some guy is sucking some other guys tool right now?

  • Good video.

RIP Hitch. You gave us a very entertaining few years.

  • Great video! I still remember the 'shock' when I first heard him talk. Although an atheist I just had never heard someone speak so frankly about beliefs. An amazing moment. I wish I could relive it.

  • Beautiful tribute to a beautiful human being...

  • I miss you.

  • @jordanmylesevans Nice comment, and accurate about Prof. Dawkins, but not quite true. Christopher Hitchens was a proper, serious intellectual as well.

  • Watched this several times the day after CH died in December and just watched this again today. Put me to tears. It's so sad when a good man dies...

  • I agree on this one with Hitchens, the religion is the root of all evil. Don't seek religion, seek relationship with God Almighty. There are things which can't be comprehended by the wise of this world and you need to be willing to open your heart and see. Nevertheless, I encourage everyone to seek and question things and not to take everything. God IS great and God is good. I challenge you to try it out for your self. Call out to God, if he IS real. Those who seek him shall find him.

  • @jannulik "There are things which can't be comprehended by the wise of this world" is the same as saying "God works in mysterious ways", which is the theological equivalent of pointing and shouting "LOOK OVER THERE" and then running away.

  • @jannulik A relationship with any God is religion...

  • @jannulik Are you on about the god of the bible or your own god? If it`s the bible god then why do you say not to seek religion? If it`s your own god then how did you find out about him?

  • Dawkins - The Brain

    Hitchens - The Brawn

  • @jordanmylesevans

Hitchens was both, and i'm not just saying that.

Dawkins is the figurehead of the atheist movement, however he was not as brainy as Hitchens, Hitchens is far more subtle, and not your stereotypical intellectual.

Thats just what i can see from watching videos of both of them. That said, Dawkins is also a wonderful man.

  • @jordanmylesevans ...

Harris & Tyson - The Diplomats

    Dennet - The Academic

  • @Helptheherd You're delusional.

  • @LTMagic21 atheism is the path to suicide- stop spreading your evil belief system to children

    God bless

  • @Helptheherd believe what you want, but we are an atheist and we are proud to be.

  • @LTMagic21 You are just plain stupid or uneducated. Maybe both.

  • @fire112germany I am "plain stupid and uneducated" for refuting a most ignorant and bigoted statement, "atheism is evil"? You are so misguided and wrong on so many levels. Please go.

  • @LTMagic21 I am sorry. That wasn't meant for you. My mistake.

  • All the focus on Hitchens' atheism risks people forgetting the contributions he made in many other areas, like the debate over torture, the war on drugs, abortion, war crimes in Bosnia, Israel-Palestine, etc.

  • Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: II Peter 3:3-6

  • Because Only Jesus Christ died for Sins of all human being. Because Only Jesus is alive today. Because Only Jesus claim to be Savior of Souls. Because Only Biblical prophecies and prophecy by Jesus were truly fulfilled and still fulfilling in our days. Because No other god showed his love by coming as Son of Man among earthly men and died in the hands of earthly men.

  • @samaroo96 SPAM.....

  • @samaroo96 SPAM.....

  • @GodlessHappyAndFree <~~~~~~~~ ME TOO :D

  • This great man =/ He is missed.

  • Beautiful video. Thank you.

  • I have been an Atheist for several years now. Listening to this man's words has had a great impact on my life. I don't know how I missed the announcement of his death, but today marks the only day I have wept over being an Atheist. The idea that I missed out on the opportunity to tell this man what he meant to me has driven me to tears. The world will be less without him. I will (think) for you Christopher; though I know you cannot hear me.

  • @tremble9120c1 To bad that many of the thing he said are lies.

  • @TheAwesomeMaths "To bad. . . " ? "Many of the thing. . ." ?

I would start to worry if even one of you could write a coherent two-cent string of English. Up to now, I have not worried.

  • @manthasagittarius1 Well, my native language is not English but I can back up my claims.

Just one example: in his book 'God is not Great" he talked about Dietrich Bonhoeffer ( a Lutheran pastor, founding member of the Confessing Church who was executed by the Nazi for opposing them) and said that Bonhoeffer's Christianity mutated into an "admirable but nebulous humanism" which is a horrifing attempt by Hitchens to revise history.

  • @TheAwesomeMaths for different sects of the same religion, the fundamentalists and extremists are not unknown to show animosity or to act out violence towards other groups of their own religion. I'm not sure if you even realize how poor of an argument you've tried to make.

  • @Techupz Maybe you did not read my comment. I said that Hitchens tried to revise history by sayng that Dietrich Bonhoeffer was not a Christian.

  • @TheAwesomeMaths Indeed my first response was not directed at your comments about Hitchen's claim that Bonhoeffer's Christianity mutating towards a "nebulous humanism".

However, if we look at how his Christianity morphed when the Nazi policies were beginning to take root. The new stance against was possible only by the cherry picking of verses and the rest of it was his personal compassion and ideals. Therefore the attribution to humanism.

  • @Techupz Bonhoeffer did not cherry pick any verse and he was a Christian to the end. His Christianity was the source of his resistence to the Nazi. I like how New Atheists always try to rewrite history whenever it does not suit them.

  • @TheAwesomeMaths So then he supported the bible in the entirety? and did not have to metaphorically interpret any verses? For anyone to believe that the bible is the true word of god, it has to be perfect. If they believe it to be perfect, then any interpretation by humans would be to taint such a thing and its message.

I like how the religious likes to interpret the perfect word of god and claim its the word of god that they're acting out.

  • @TheAwesomeMaths There's nothing horrifying about it, nor is it a calumny of Bonhoeffer, whom he is not accusing of "not being a Christian". You seem to think Christianity is an on-off condition. Much of the Christian tradition shades off into humanism in aspects of practice and belief. I think you need to put your finger on what Hitchens is referring to in Bonhoeffer's writing and what he means, instead of just reacting. Or if you know, describe it better here.

  • this is a well-made video

  • Thank you Christopher Hitchens for all you have done. You will live on in all of your memories.

  • i DONT CARE what anyone says! God Bless AND i hope you were wrong bud! because i would like to meet you in the afterlife! and i dotn think its a party i think its more like a river! and we are the fish adn sometimes we are the water depends on the day! Anyway i will miss you and all that!

  • Fuck Iran! RIP Christopher!

  • Now that was worth hitting that "Subscribe" button! Thanks for uploading.

  • im convinced that the human race is evil theres not one good! no not one! all have sinned and greatly offended the holy God of the bible the just punishment is death then hell. eternity in the lake of fire. because God is good God hates evil. Gods will is that none perish. Jesus Christ bleed and died on the cross paying for the law you broke in His lifes blood you must repent turn from sin and trust alone in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation. Amen.

  • @mamainmancj Go preach your bullshit somewhere else, you deluded freak.

  • @mamainmancj We are well aware of the details of your particular mythology.

Yes, and if you had lived in Old Testament times, and you ate shellfish or picked up sticks on a Saturday, you would have greatly offended the god of the Bible, and would have been stoned to death. The god of the Bible also thought it was necessary to command people to stop boiling goats in their mother's milk.

Your mythology is absolutely absurd, on every level.

  • @mamainmancj Everyone but you?

  • @mamainmancj And where is your evidence for that?

  • @mamainmancj And your evidence for that is?

  • @mamainmancj You must be a spammer. ?

Let's see here, "punishment is death then hell. eternity in the lake of fire" REALLY?

This is an action that is taken from a God is good and hates evil? Perfect example of why free thinking people despise hateful people like yourself.

  • Hey guys, I’m trying to get a website going, and hopefully a book one day, called Letters to Hitch. Basically it’s a tribute to Hitchens, and a place where people can go to, to talk about him, share stories, etc. The site is in the beginning phases, so it may not be 100% yet. But with support from Hitch fans, hopefully one day it can become a monumental tribute to Christopher Hitchens. The site is:

  • Comment removed

  • Once Christopher Hitchens, said GOD IS NOT GREAT. After few years GOD revealed that HE IS A GREAT GOD. Unfortunately, Mr. C. Eric Hitchens could not learn from his cancer. He had good enough time to repent just like two robbers had chance to Accept Jesus on the Cross. But One mocked Him while other understood the Reality of Christ and requested from Jesus to remember in His Kingdom. Every human being get last chance to leave proud and to know Christ. But Some are wise while most are Foolish.

  • @Theworldbehindme

    Go fuck off will you?

  • @Theworldbehindme You sir, sicken me. You clearly believe yourself to be a good man of faith, yet you have the audacity to go around spamming every video with Christopher Hitchens, preying on peoples sympathy for the loss of a loved one. It disgusts me you would use a deceased family member to try and defend your argument, believing it will help you rise to an imaginary playground in the sky after you too, are dead. If that is what it is to be religious, I want no part of it.

  • @Theworldbehindme Fuck off deluded freak. Die in your fucking slum

  • @Theworldbehindme Indeed. Another attack. How 'christian' of you...

  • Though Christopher Hitchens died in defense of his faith in atheism. He was little nerves and confused during his denial on God issues. I can understand his pain and sickness. But his last few segments in video clips were not looking 100% confident on his decision of atheism. What ever he pronounced in public is one thing but what he could be thinking alone in bed is other thing. He was looking desperate like searching some thing Real. God knew his heart, he had chance to accept Jesus. But he l

  • @samaroo96 i hope you're trolling, because if you aren't you'll be in a shit-storm from other video viewers soon

  • @CareFreeWherever Don't react emotionally. Watch few video clips of his last days. He does not looks the same Christopher who was talking lots of against GOD and Jesus. After his Cancer, though he was still condemning Religion and religious people. But none of them are against GOD, Jesus, Holy Spirit. I simply watched his last days videos and understood his inner battle against GOD. What you think, its up to you. I am free to express my thoughts. You like or not is your problem

  • @realtyofislam who was reacting emotionally. it was a bland warning

  • @realtyofislam He had cancer and none of us can know what that is like until we go through it. He was most likely thinking of his family. if you want to know what his thoughts towards god was (which god by the way - there are so many I can never remember which one we're talking about) watch his Jeremy Paxman interview.

  • @samaroo96 He was steadfastly athiest until the bitter end, please don't fool yourself into false confidence by dimishing Hitchens in such a back-handed way. For that matter stop preying on other people who lie on their deathbeds in a weakened psychological state, offering them empty words and hollow salvation from death. The religious make me sick.

  • @dciple12 My Dad died with Cancer in 2010. He was just an ordinary man. He also did not had much qualification and wealth as Christopher Hitchen had. But he was Christian and believed in GOD from genuine heart. My dad was 64 years of age. I remember every day he use to give thanks GOD for life, food and all stuffs we need in our daily life. I have never seen him worry, sad, fearful on his deathbed. He was relaxed as knew where he was going. But Mr. Christopher was looking worry and sad

  • @Theworldbehindme Or he was looking like a guy dying from cancer. Was he sad to be dying? Probably, I am sure he didn't want to die just as I don't want to die. Was he worried or afraid? I think not.

  • @Theworldbehindme Continue to live in your bubble reality, I'm not interested. But don't go on to a tribute video for someone who recently died and spout this sort of trash. Pathetic that you would bring a family member into this as some sort of "evidence"... Your dad is wormfood, but he is still in your memories, what exactly is so scary about that notion? Sorry to be harsh but that is reality.

  • @Theworldbehindme What is Hitchens burning in hell? You came over here to tell us that? You sick evil deluded freak. Get the fuck out.

  • @Theworldbehindme Christopher was perhaps looking sad because he was suffering and because he was leaving loved ones behind. And it is so typical of the 'good christians' to come on an epitaph site and attack the people. Very 'charitable' of you...very 'noble'...very 'christian'...

  • @samaroo96 You people truly know evil. 'He had his chance to accept Jesus' - I'm sorry but why specifically Jesus? Why not Allah, Vishnu, Zoroaster, Zeus, Kali, Buddha, or for that matter the Emperor of Japan?

  • Can't believe that he is gone.

  • Check out, " best of the hitchslap" this video uses most but not all the clips in that tribute video

  • I have seen this video so many times now. It's the perfect representation of the essence of Hitchens works. He's not in hell, nor in heaven. He's resting in the only place worth being after death, namely in the memories and hearts of his fellow men.

  • Great great man...will miss him.

  • Think is free, use it

  • The best I have seen on YT , I have watched it a few times & every time it still brings a lump to my throat . death is certainly not preferred , but its pretty rank also to be at the "party" on your own & be having no fun at all.

  • Great video tribute to a great and courageous thinker!

  • This man undoubtedly changed my life in such a profound way that I can no longer uphold the doctrines of religion. For the first time in my life I can honestly say I am free. Thank you Mr. Hitchens for your eloquence, your fearlessness, and your devotion to truth.

  • I am a Christian and have been watching Mr. Hitchens here on YouTube I have to say even though I dont agree with his views, he is very intriguing on his points and was obviously very intelligent. i have faith in the things atheists choose to want proof for but his lectures were interesting.

  • WEB: Earth is loaded with room. We could put the world's entire pop. into the U.S. Doing so would make our pop. density 1,531 people per sq. mile. That's a far lower pop. density than what now exists in N.Y. (11,440), L.A. (9,126) and Houston (7,512). The entire U.S. population could move to Texas and each family of four would enjoy 2.9 acres of land. If the entire world's population moved to Texas, California, Colorado and Alaska, each family of four would enjoy nine-tenths of an acre of land.

  • I miss you dawg! :'(

  • The religious people commenting on this video are absolutely disgusting, how dare you assert that he is 'burning in hell'

Are you Christians that pathetic that you have to wait until your opponents die to attack because you can't come close to challenging them in debate? pathetic.

You just prove what Hitchens said, religion makes people stupid and hateful.

  • On page 293 of "Roget's 21st Century Thesaurus in Dictionary Form," Edited by the Princeton Language Institute, Barbara Ann Kipfer, Ph.D., Head Lexicographer (1993) ...we find the synonyms for: FAITH : acceptance, allegiance, assent, assurance, belief, certainty, certitude, confidence, constancy, conviction, credence, credit, credulity, dependence, faithfulness, fealty, fidelity, hope, loyalty, reliance, stock, store, sureness, surety, troth, truth, truthfulness

  • @procommenter ""Roget's 21st Century Thesaurus in Dictionary Form"

    Thesaurus. Thesaurus, not dictionary!

Those are words that can be used in place of faith, and refer to colloquial, as well as other definitions etc.

We are talking about faith in the theological sense, which is to simply believe it without or even in the face of opposing evidence. You know what we mean so this is somewhat mendacious.

  • ...we'll take it from here.

  • a wonderful tribute.

  • thank you :.) good night <3

  • Inspiring he was...and is..

  • " Thanks so much Christopher " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's funny that his name was Christ...
