I'm sad, I don't want anything of HxH to change. It's perfect the way it is, PERFECT. In fact, hearing upon this news, I've been half thrilled, half worried because of how modernized it'll be. I really hope the characters stay who they are. Even the most minor characters, I love them all.
That said though, I'm still willing to give the reboot a chance..I just think they're going to destroy a lot of characters in the way they were first represented. If the soundtrack of the show and art style is consistent with intent of the first adaption, I'll be happy about it. But what's this about 45 episodes? I don't seem to understand where they're going with that..do they plan on cutting it ludicrously short or what?
..I really only have a problem with the way they're drawing Killua/Hisoka, and of course toning down everything. What is with people and modernizing EVERYTHING they can manage? The first anime adaption has a unique aesthetic that I appreciate more than any other Anime I've seen to this date. Was it REALLY necessary to re-do the entire Anime? Hunter x Hunter isn't THAT old, theirs plenty of older animes still airing to this date that haven't been redone and are doing just fine.
lol Kurapica is so soft spoken(not that he wasn't in the first version) and Leorio still seems pretty bad ass in the beginning. Why are they putting Kite in later if he's such a big influence on how Gon completely changes in the Chimera ant arc? Having him from the beginning would make his importance have more of an emphasis don't ya think? Also I too also like that it's a little foggy and not too bright because thats how HxH should be. Still no sign of Killua :( The song is a great first OP tho

@alucardXlll its airing in the morning so it is inevitable that some of the scenes will be censored. that was shown quite clearly when hisoka teared that guy's arm off. they can't helped so thats fair enough. as for sticking with the exact manga content, the original did that almost flawlessly and there are already some changes in the 2011 series already so i wouldn't quite say its following it 100%, but there most likely wont be any filler as there is a lot of content already to animate.

@X5Exotic Yeah, I was a little worried by how the promotional poster seemed a bit *too* peppy and slick, but I'm glad that the actual animation seems more toned down.
Here's hoping that even while aiming to allow for a younger audience, that the new series attempts to retain some of the artistic and directional sophistication from the original series!
