  • Im soo use to the sound of coquis that most of the time i hear them when someone points out the topic! :D Does someone get what i mean??

  • Someone pay for my ticket back to PR... NOW :(

  • Theres no such thing as the Hawaiian coqui -___- it was brought from PR to Hawaii

  • I lovee tht sound hawaiians r juss haterz

  • The only coquís to sing "co-quí" are two kinds only found in PR. I miss that sound!

  • I cant sleep without that sound

  • i miss that sound D: lol

  • What is so different about coquis in Hawaii vs PR? I really loved the coquis when I visited PR this summer for the first time. I live in a city and I am a nature freak so their sound and the obvious tropical nature in PR was refreshing.

Get some crickets Hawaiians, after hearing THAT all night coquis should be welcome!

  • my Isla de del encanto, amo mi isla!!!!!! Boricua!!

  • I remember the time when I was just a infant in PR and my father and mother stayed there since it was their homeland and at night I heard them "Coqui, Coqui, Coqui"

The coqui, natures little chirping frog

  • El Orgullo De Ser Boricua!

  • everyone vote for el yunque puerto rico to be one of the new 7 wonders of the world. if you love puerto rico or if you are puerto rican you would vote. we deserve this. vote at new7wonders . com !!!! BORICUA!

  • WISH I WAS THERE .....

  • Ay, yo quierooo

  • man this was soo soothing when you go to sleep and its raining omg best combo ever

  • its butiful

  • ugh i wish the drug and violence and politic didnt ruin this place. i miss that sound and temp T_T

  • @zerox227x I know! I miss the sound too... just not the temp

  • @zerox227x I have to invite you to my grandmas house on El Viejo San Juan. At night, the neighbors can hear them by hundreds!

  • This is the sound of the island's soul.

  • Puerto Ricans love them but here in Hawaii they are a destructive little buggah

  • @gregorys90 They're eating all of Hawaii's mosquito and small insect population...dam coqui. You can send them back to PR, we'll receive them back with a national parade.

  • @gregorys90 I heard about that.. what is it in Hawaii that is causing so much trouble?

  • @cjgofs

  • @cjgofs What causes trouble is that people used to enjoy quiet nights contemplating the stars, cosmos and life. That has been forever taken from us. No more peaceful nights....ever. No longer can you quietly let your mind wander. Now your brain is continually pierced by incessant, shrill chirping. I used to hear whales blowing and singing at night from my bed. No more thanks to this pest. Without predators here they are even adapting to chirp at all hours of the day. What a nightmare scourge...

  • @tofufarmer My post is referring to Hawaii, The Big Island btw. When invasive species are unleashed in foreign environments where they thrive, you are asking for disaster at a minimum and a environmental catastrophe at worst. They are an obnoxious nuisance here. I truly wish Puerto Rico could have them all back... YESTERDAY!

  • The Puerto Rican equivalent of the spring peeper.

  • the most relaxing sound

  • Que orgullo ser boriqua!!!!

  • thou shall respect the coqui !

  • beautiful !

  • Relaxing? El que encuentre ese jodio alboroto relajante merece que me metan un martillo mohoso por el culo!

  • @darksoulpr sabes un@, el que se merece que le metan el martillo mohos por el culo eres tu, por estar criticando a los pobres animales

  • @darksoulpr Hahaha, I don't know, when you're tired at night after just having eaten a huge meal and you lay down in the hammock in the garage and swing there for a little bit, the sound of the coqui is pretty much the icing on the cake. It's just such a homey and nostalgic sound - it lulls me right to sleep.

  • @darksoulpr Dios te Bendiga y gracias por hacerme reir tan duro que estoy llorando.

  • Oh Puerto Rico! I love my Island forever and ever and ever. I lived with my grandpartents in Aguada when I was 8 years old (43 now) and I went to sleep to these sounds and awoke to the warm sun on my face, the crow of roosters, the chirps of chicks, and the moo of the cows. I am sure that when I leave this earth my soul will visit the island one last time before I leave this earth. God Bless our Puerto Rico. Peace. Love.

  • @DarkTrades You took the words out of my mouth! Made me a little teary eyed too! Lol. I love my Puerto Rico. No place greater!

  • @DarkTrades I live in Aguada, we are the best, because Por Aguada Fue!!!

  • @ReyRichy LOL, I wish could hear the Coqui singing all night. It seems like it sounds a lot better than these crickets. I'm guessing the Coqui eats the crickets or you just can't hear them over the Coqui.
