it looks like some sort of pine apple.? I presume you didnt use your hands for this... how close can one get at such temp's?....

Of course you cannot go that close when it is 1200 degrees - and all it has to do I think is to attain that temperature and then you stop heating it. - bw JB21

@aracabushcabar yeah, sometimes it does that... that particular time was a tiny bit longer than usual, but not much. I use biodiesel however which probably contributes to that.

Ya I found it. I have collected Pine cones for fun and profit and wonder how I can use some impressions as decorations on some of my thrown pieces. They make a nice touch with the Christmas wreaths I make too. Stay in there aeh!

it was wrapped up in heat saving material and 'cooked' at 1200 degrees. See 'TomBarnett"
