@troyhopson thzey are no great whites. they are mako sharks ans therefor much more aggressive than the great white. the Maori call the mako shark "mak mako" which means "human-eater". in the movie the sharks are much too big. a mako only gets 4 meters long

a) Susan (Saffron Burrows) originally survived. LL Cool J died. However, test screen audiences apparently wanted to see Susan die, so they re-shot, briefly, her death. (If you look closely at the end, some of the shots on the dock with Thomas Jane & LL don't match up [eye-levels, etc], as they only re-shot her death)

b) audiences liked LL's character. So, they let him live, as they wanted at least 2 survivors.

This movie was a scary movie. However, I think that it is atonement in person's food to cruelty. The problem is not solved only by opposing the animal that has the fang. It seems to sympathize with the shark unlike the movie of Jaws now. It is understood somehow now though younger brother said, "The shark is originally good-looking".

@manMAFBoo, no all three of the sharks in this movie are Makos because the Great White has triangular serrated teeth and the Mako has more like sharp, needle-like teeth for trapping slippery prey on both it upper and lower jaw.

@TheMonsterSkull, sorry but all of the sharks in this movie are Makos. Though the last Mako does look like a Great White size wise because the average Great White is what, 16 feet long? Though it can grow up to 21 feet long maximum. A full Mako is 15 feet give or take? Anyway, I think it's awesome that the effects team used mostly animetronics and CGI when they needed to it. Deep Blue Sea is a must have. I had this on VHS but I don't know what happened to it.

@kommisar By taking of her wetsuit and standing on it she prevented getting electricuted herself, and then she would be dead. Seeing as water, and any other wet surface would guide the electricity. The wetsuit acted as an isolating barrier.
