  • I hate avatars

  • Note on Difference Ferngully is better than Avatar. There I said it! Can't wait for the Avatar zombies to attack!

  • what a Great Movie! I saw it full in HD at M0viess.got.to

  • God, L00K at that! I Just Saw this M0VIE IN HD now here at MoviezFull.up.to It's Unreal!

  • that was so beast

  • When I first saw Avatar it reminded me of Fern Gully and Dances with Wolves. But it's nothing new. Most of the movies you see today are remakes of older movies. First Blood (Rambo) was a remake of the movie Lonely Are The Brave (1962) with Kirt Douglas. Beyonce video for Single Ladies is a copy of Walk it Out Fosse.

  • G0SH! Ever Seen this this M0VIE at M0viesFull.got.to Must See! Check link out!

  • fern gully is a great movie thats why some good movie like avatar emitated it..

  • this is the reason why i feel something in avatar that ive seen before.

  • I had always knew that Avatar is a rip-off of Fern Gully. That's why I was so disappointed when I first saw Avatar and I'll never watch it again.

  • Yes I can tell that it was all on the same wavelength. The least that Avatar producers and whats his name cameron could do is to give a credit for concept and story. But they didnt do that. They did not want to bite into profits. It's called stealing.

They are no better than the bad guys in fern gully and avatar itself. Thieves who steal intellectual property.

  • Great work and I see the striking similarities.

  • You know I would usually agree Avatar is ripping off its just a common plot but the similarities are too specific to a t. The tractors, the scene with encouraging speach, the tree, the glowing plants... It isn't only about the plot anymore. On first glance, the only difference between the two is Avatar has *revolutionary* visual affects and the natives were blue.

  • HAHAHAHA i like i like.. good job! :0)

  • fern gully. jake sully.

  • I watched Avatar for the first time last night... and thought, "Damn...James Cameron totally ripped this idea off from Fern Gully"!

  • as soon as i watched avatar in 2010 i remembered this film, iv hated the new avatar ever since !!!!!!!!!!!! make up ur own movies gosh, not imagination these days. Fern gully great movie :D watched when was little

  • Look at That! This Movie can be watched for free at GetFullMoviezz.18.to

  • good movie when does it come out? ¯\(ºдಠ)/¯

  • I watched This Movie FULL at GetFullMoviez.cn.to

  • does aanyone remember a movie about, like, an explorer, and he has a square globe, with a termite or something living in it? cannot remember at all.

  • I don't think it's a ripoff , but the simple minded environmentalist notions of people tend to produce eerily similar results.

  • Very good mash up!!!

  • No. Avatar DIDN'T rip off FernGully. Seriously.

The script was written about 18 years ago, and they made it now because they had the tech to do it.

  • @Opalthreads the script for avatar was written in 1994. Ferngully was written in the late 1980s as a book and adapted into film in 1992.

Avatar also ripped off Pocahontas and Dances with wolves. Seriously watch them and look them up, some of the scenes are blatant remakes.

  • @Opalthreads Fern gully was released in 1992.

  • @Opalthreads Avatar didn't rip off FernGully, it ripped off Pocohauntus. It's the same damn plot but with blue people and futuristic tech :-P

  • @Opalthreads And they didnt just rip off the story they ripped off full scenes...think about when they are running through the rain forest and the water lights up and in avatar there is a scene nearly identical

  • @dcastillo2008

    SORRY SORRY SORRY SORRY!

I was ignorant. Please accept my humble apologies.

    ._.

  • @Opalthreads :)accepted!!

  • @Opalthreads YAH! You're gonna believe that? James Cameron said that so he wouldn't be sued.

  • Yeah avatar was good but ripped of FernGully way too much... Which is an awesome film lol buy it on eBay NOW =]

  • @CorkyBabyYeah check out the best trailer mash ups at my channel!

  • this only proves that avatar simply copied off of ferngully...

  • this is sooo stupid! i see it now, well avatar is a copy of ferngully >.< but o one knows ferngully anymore -.-**

  • Avatar is FernGully, Dances with Wolves and Pocahontas players by giant smurfs.

  • Avatar was a needless re-hash of an already played idea. Fern Gully kicks ass and Avatar doesn't deserve any of the popularity it has.

  • james cameron totally ripped of Ferngully. I've been saying it since it came out. This proves my point right here.

  • Fern gully Wins!

  • i have to admit that this movie was better than avatar in every way except graphics.

  • our film teacher showed this to us

  • lol the plane sounds and batty's flying hahaha

  • vøll_geìl_gebt_mÀl_bEì_göÕglê:_geldeasy_ËîN_vÓll_krÄss

  • Please, are we really saying Avatar was a complete copy of some cartoon movies about protecting nature? What a joke to compare Avatar to those kiddie movies (Do you know what I really LOOOVE about Avatar? NO ANNOYING BREAKS INTO STUPID SONGS!...okay toxic love rocks...but still). Let's forget about the original character design, scene design, and impressive mesh of CG + film (because those things don't matter). Besides...the Avatar story is JUST beginning.

  • @kittakitta its a direct rip off of avatar. to the T the entire story ... watch the movie

  • @mramazingracist100 Yes its the same book, different covers. And why Avatar is going to get even more retarded is when they are going to make a shitty story for avatar 2.

  • i love it

  • Avatar was a good movie...but I just feel Ferngully was alot better..could be the nostalgia...but i don't know for a cartoon i really liked it and still watch it

  • @CGJUGO80 avatar cant compare

  • i wonder if james cameron new he was ripping off, this, pocahontas, dances with wolves, and the smurfs when he was writing that abortion of a film

  • well I think that Avatar was a new interpretation... for the generation that didn't grew up with Fern Gully and Pocahontas

    XD

  • I saw this tonight on TV and was like, "Hey.. This reminds me of Avatar." Then more of the movie kept unfolding, I shouted surprised, "HOLY SHIT! This is pretty much Avatar!"

  • @thinkinblue613 lol avatar is a rip off and crap

  • @mramazingracist100 Yes hes quite retarded.I think he cant compensate a simple thing as this not to see ripping off.And by the way he can eat shit because the cartoon was probably way harder to make. The draw 1000 pictures for every little movement back then.

  • the ferngully makers should sue avatar for copying them

  • @TheMilkyEnemy i agree

  • It makes me sick that people see Avatar as an original concept it's so similar to Fern Gully I can't believe James Cameron got away with this.

  • I have the MOST ORIGINAL idea for a movie in the world. It is a documentary called '' when Hollywood started ripping off other movies''.

  • this is amazing! love it

  • Yeah me too thought bout the plot bein used so many times especially Atlantas same story

  • When I first saw Avatar at the movies, I knew that this movie was similar to Fern Gully. Especially when she showed him the plants and they were glowing. Funny thing I saw Fern Gully at the movies as a kid! And BTW Avatar sucks!

  • this is so great, it's like you extracted a video from my mind! fuck you james cameron you unoriginal asshat! go make some 3D titanic noob

  • they're literally both the same movie, haha!!

  • I watched Furngully for the first time in YEARS (forever) and I was like, "WTF is this?! Avtar ripped this off! F***!" I kinda hate Avatar now. :/

  • @NightmareLoveForever Well, dispite the similarities, I kind of found Avatar to still be a fun film as at least it has a couple of epic battle scenes.

In fact, After seeming Avatar in 2009, I kind of wanted to see the other films that James Cameron was known for so I torrented the 1st 2 Terminator movies and later, watched the VHS copys that my big sister had and then eventually, Bought The Terminator on DVD and T2 on Blu Ray at the end of this year (Got T1 on my 17th Bday

  • Avatar is Ferngully,Dances With Wolves, Pocahontas, and the smurfs old masjed up XD

  • yeah, i was hoping someone would make something like this. stories are very much the same. still both great films though :P

  • Holy shit Avatar ripped fern gully off big time

  • very awesome! (and yea this along with Brave Little Toaster were my childhood icon movies too) I also wonder if any1 in Camerons creative team plays or knows of World of Warcraft cuz the entire Na'vi story is bascially a ripoff of the Night Elf lore including the 'world tree' idea, fuck Cameron, go do something ORIGINAL... dick

  • @ViperRob42 Dude, the Night Elf lore is almost entirely taken from other sources. The World Tree is an ancient Norse concept (Yggdrasil, anyone?). And the Warcraft people are well aware of the references they are making to other mythologies/stories (like the idea of Orcs? Or the huge similarities to Warhammer mythologies - which came before Warcraft?) - they even include little jokes about it! I think they even give their World Tree a similar name to Yggdrasil! Play less WoW and read more!!!

  • @dalellll I never said the night elf lore was original moron, I know that

  • @ViperRob42 Haha! Yes you did! You totally thought it was! You're hilarious. You even told Cameron "go do some original", and called him a dick for it, and now you're all, "Oh noes! Quick! I have to rescue my reputation on YOUTUBE! Let's troll the person who pointed out how dumb i was being!"

The best part is, the people who MADE World of Warcraft are like, a billion times smarter than you re: mythology and stories, and you think you're *defending* them! Thank-you for the free entertainment.

  • this was awesome work

  • fern gully was infinately more entertaining

  • Dont think that Avatar is a copy of Ferngully

Think that is better version and a remake of this movie

    I like so much Avatar...

  • I like this. It's clever. First time I saw Avatar, I thought "it's basically Ferngully for adults."

  • haha i thouhg they meant avatar the last airbender copied ferngully so i was like wtf? but yea avatar the movie does copy this

  • Quite3 a mix :-) It was all collective consciousness :-)

  • Genius!!

  • brilliant

  • Comment removed

  • This PWNED Avatar!

  • avatar does take a lot of plot from this movie but the basic character plots and personalities are taken from Disney's Pochohantas and some further plot elements as well

  • @Zareth6 That's exactly what i was thinking...Pocahontas. But a lot of your best stories come from taking history and changing the names and places I think. I thought it was amazing when i figured out that the story in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace was based on Egyptian historical events from the time of Hatshepsut and her nephew lol.

  • I completely agree that the storyline from Avatar is exactly the same as Ferngully, Pocahantas, Dances with Wolves, and probably countless other films. But I don't think anyone is really trying to claim that it's very original. I think Avatar's claim to fame is the cinematography. I love Fern Gully (it's my childhood), but that cartoon has nothing on the advanced digital technology that is displayed in Avatar.

  • Original they say? I've already come up with three brilliant and Original Ideas!

  • Also does it really matter if the ideas were taken from someone else. the point of the movies are to express the need to stop deforestation, saving indigenous cultures and other similar issues. is it so bad to continue to try and make a point???

    i love both movies

  • I have no problem with mashups like this... but that doesn't change the fact that they are troll bait. FernGully is really quite dissimilar to Avatar. They share the use of environmental destruction (in particular the clearing of forests) and the cooperation of members of opposing groups as plot devices, and put forth a strong environmentalist message. That's about it. Note that the dozer scene in Avatar could be claimed similar. Pocahontas? Um, no. Avatar was written before it was released.

  • @torukmakto4 doesn't matter if it was written before it was released the other film was released first. Is like saying inception had the dream idea before the matrix because it was written 10 years ago. Matrix was released first so there for it was one of the first movie that had the idea of dreams. Its a matter of whats first for people to see not what we hear.

  • @ModernDayReview88 Yes, when talking about these originality claims, it DOES matter who wrote what and when, regardless of release dates. It may not matter in the public's eye as far as how a film is thought about, but it still stands that Cameron didn't derive anything from Pocahontas. That's a fact.

  • Comment removed

  • @ModernDayReview88 There is proof. The original iteration of the script was known as "Project 880" (this later became the codename for the Avatar project throughout its production) and WAS written in 1994. I have no reason to lie, but if you don't believe me, go do a little research on your own.

  • @torukmakto4

didn't ferngully come out in 1992 though?

  • @RaDiAtOr730 Yes it did, but I was talking about Pocahontas. Its similarity to Avatar, while still coincidental, is still greater than FernGully's.

  • both likable movies, thank u for making this!!

  • i love how everyone is dissing on fern gully when it was made decades before avatar was even thought of. you cant call fern gully or pocahontas a rip off cause they were way before this time. i remember watching avatar and thinking for those who exact movies. who cares if they have similar characteristics. like other movies dont copy eachother. we live in the book into movie era if i may add

  • whats the first song? its not the gladiator track by hans ._:

  • 35 people need a Pizza Roll

  • The trailer music sounds like Gladiator main theme, by Lisa Gerrard, in my opinion.

  • Fern Gully SUCKS. I've seen it before. Avatar shits all over it and is actually worth watching, even if the stories are similiar.

  • Uf If Avatar is the same as Ferngully, then who thinks The Matrix is the same thing as Japanese animation like Ghost in The Shell, Akira, Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll and Cowboy Bebop?

  • hahaha! that was awseome! The similarity is really fascinating! Good job, you!

  • omg the part with ummm... the grandma lady. thats trippy. 1:30

  • 84panne, maybe it was written in 1994 but the idea was developed in 1990, or so I've read. Besides its more like Pocahontas if you ask me.

  • @ StyXauraelixir

Cameron came up with the idea and script in 1994

  • I never liked Fern Gully

    AVATAR is awsome

    Fern Gully is gay

The only thing similar about the two is the forest being cut down

  • I love how the same people who said this movie sucks, are the same ones who thought that District 9 was a good movie.

  • @TheKray11

District 9 was nominated for best film at the oscars...

  • By the way this a good mash-up. The choice of images and the timing is impressive.

  • You are all misunderstanding.

Ferngully - (fav film as child) was published by Diana young in 1991.

Avatar was written in 1990 if I'm mistaken but James Cameron couldn't work on it because the technology hadn't caught up yet (technology he helped develop)

but everyone knows Avatar is not about the story which has more similarities to Pocahontas, but its famous for being the first film of its kind to be made from start to finish in all its 3D glory. Its a cinematic masterpiece!

  • @StyXauraelixir

1994 cameron wrote the script in 1994

  • @84panne Seriously I would love to see this so-called script that everyone is talking about. well, Anything could be fabricated. It can be lies.

1994 Avatar script was written. OK where's the evidence that Cameron wrote it?

But in reality yea, they do have some of the same elements, but so did Mononoke. Did Fern Gully also rip off of Mononoke Hime as well?

  • @Japanamaniac Shut up, you dumb twat. Cameron DID create the script in 1994 Mononoke really? That's a fucking anime FROM JAPAN you idiot. that really doesn't apply to avatar and Fern Gulley. Shut the hell up and go post you dumbass comments elsewhere. >:X

  • @StyXauraelixir

wrong cameron wrote the script back in 1994

  • I thought Ferngully as soon as i got done with the movie Avatar the only thing is Avatar has great looking but never seen any reason why it is said too be a great movie.

  • such a old movie!!

I watched it when I was like 7 years old!!

  • avatar got some DIsney Atlantis too. Michelle Rodriguez was in both movies lol playing the same exact part.

  • LMAO OMG, my mom was right its exactly like avatar. I couldnt remember but i cannot believe how similar it is.

  • aaaa ferngully was soo 80s its annyoing and disturbing to watch

  • @KadeshLeMort - Fern Gully came out in the 90's.

  • @KadeshLeMort Yes you to are disturbing, since you say Ferngully to be annoying.

Seriously ! WTF! What is good then?Man Ferngully is one of 5 or 10 cinematic achivements in the history of the human kind that isn't just an entertaining bullshit.Which finally is no longer appreciated as it used to be what is clearly a sing the humanity is starting to mature.Even if small number now people nowdays dont want just mindless shows, they aim for something with a true meaning.....

  • DOESNT matter now lol cuz the ferngully ripoff made over a billion dollars worldwide cameron could care less about what happens the australians who made this movie need to take cameron to court and get some of that. but i doubt they will win

  • Avatar is amazing- idk it doesn't remind me of non of these movies they compare it to. In my opinion avatar is unique.

  • @teta809, you have to watch Fern Gully. Depending on how much you love Avatar, you will cry or laugh.

  • @teta809 Avatar isnt unique. Ferngully was made and written way before avatar, and avatar just stole from it.

  • Avatar didn't really grow on me. Watched about half and just completely lost interest. There wasn't really a message in there that hadn't been shoved down my thoat a thousand times before. I am a Cameron fan, but Avatar didn't exactly give me the "wow!" factor. Needs more than stunning CGI to win me over.

  • @ballebanan That's all Avatar was, a stunning CGI movie. Not that great of a movie, It was what I would imagine an acid trip to be like. It was like let's put some jelly fish in the air, make colorful dinosaur like creatures and call it a day. I turned it off shortly after he flew on that stupid thing. The movie was not good at all.

  • @runningbandit If you remember the scene from "Ferngully", how Zak jumped up to the machine to try and stop it, and the people in there said, that looks like Zak. Same thing in "Avatar", they Jake jumped up to the camera and the people said, "Looks like Jake".

Ferngully, Crysta gets upset that Zak is craving the tree.

Avatar, Neyteri gets upset when Jake tries to catch the tree spores/seeds that feel from the tree.

    And many more.

  • @ballebanan I somewhat agree, but the movie still blew me away. The story is imaginative enough even thought it follows a certain cliche. Its really all about the experience rather than the plotline.

  • Funny how theives like Cameron can steal ideas, add alot of visuals to it, and call it their own....Why cant hollywood let young creators join in on the fun and create ORIGINAL films.

  • we should totallly kill those farmers trying to make crops in brazil so that the earth can naturally make creatures and plants that will make michael j fox a good actor again, how bout killing babies for stem cells? earth mother commands it, take up bow and arrow after the peyote.

  • Nice job!

  • Avatar is just Ferngully with show-offy effects. Seems kinda like you see Ferngully, you can tell how Avatar will end. But that's just me.

  • Actually the first thing I thought as I was watching Avatar was that it reminded me A LOT of Fern Gully

  • yeah and tarantino ripped off in every film hes made. its hollywood!

  • @megamaid100 uhhh... like what? what may i ask is reservoir dogs a rip off of? pulp fiction? please, explain

  • @notchjohnson1 reservoir dogs<city on fire and django(ear cutting scene), true romance<badlands, jackie brown is a remake, pulp fiction is taken from about 10 different films. rent some movies that were made before 1980 and youll figure it out.

  • @megamaid100 you could literally say that about any movie. you can find any scene that can come a little close to some other scene somewhere. its obvious especially because tarantino gives credit to a lot of movies that inspired his, but to say he is ripping them off is just plain biased and in a lot of our opinions, fucking stupid. im sorry but you can find comparisons behind a lot of movies but dont say tarantino rips other movies off when he doesnt you fucking moron

  • Comment removed

  • @megamaid100 wait wait... did you literally just call me dicknose? lol, keep watching your cartoons about fairies bro

  • AVATAR was a zigutrabimzillion (a word I made up) times better than Ferngully: The Last Forest.
