He uses a Yamaha AW 1600 Hard disc recorder for recording the largest part of his kit (2x Rode NT 5 Matched pair OH mics, AKG D112E + Shure SM52B kick mics and a Shure SM57 Snare. He routes his Tom mics (4 Sennheiser, not sure of model) through a soundcraft mixer through the HD recorder pre panned/gained.

Dude, that was amazing. It's like tbartels said about covers, it's important for every drummer to develop their unique style while playing. It's why he never covers songs exactly. Hey, do you have any tips for a beginning drummer? I'm getting my set this weekend. (Figured I'd ask someone who obviously has skill)

@iPsycosis when I started, I "threw myself in the deep end", I tried hard stuff, since I couldn't do that, I chose easier stuff, and so on until I got to my comfort level of playing, and while playing, just try and work your way up to that hard level you started with.

sorry if that came out a bit odd, but it's hard to explain through writing.
