  • @TIMxVDxSTEEN Yeah right. If you're gonna hate, go do it yourself and we'll see. And even if you did SOUND better, you still wouldn't be better because you would be lacking that Boricua sabor that NOTA brings. BORICUAS 'PA LANTE! GO NOTA!

  • if i sing along with this i sound so much better!

  • mohwak guy is so intense .. reminds me of the voice guy in police academy series

  • Way better than the original....

  • this should have over 1,000,000 views :-)

  • @xlmeay

pardon the interruption, but i have to speak up for committed. The reason they never did a 'slightly religous' song, was probably because nbc wouldn't let them. it WAS natioanl TV after all, and nbc probably didn't want to appear to support something so 'offensive'. (Note: i'm not saying it's offensive, but a lot of people these days find christianity offensive)

  • @drama4Him4ever

I'm one of those who find superstition offensive, but I don't think that's the main reason, though avoiding controversy was probably part of it. If the network required them to sing only secular songs, it's probably because they were competing for a recording contract and they wanted to prove to Sony that the winners could produce an album that had broader appeal than just gospel and would sell more copies.

  • one of my all time fav!

  • ahii esta mi primo luby lo kiero mucho el grupo esta brutal.

  • I loved it, they know how to beat-box and they have rythm! boricua force! XD

  • AWESOME!! you fellas have fans for life here. five and counting. do you have an album out yet? I can't get enough!

  • @misty12336 they have 2 "albums" Notavocal channel

  • With this song I fell in love with Nota! hahaah They're just GREAT!

And they're LATINOS! ^^ Gosh, i love the lead singer *-* I could listen to him singing "down, down, baby are you down down down down down" the whole day ! ^^

  • you guys should have lost. the Beezlebubs were ten times better. and i thought that you sang this song the worst.

  • impossible compare NoTA with On The Rocks because they are a big shits together!!!!

  • love this

  • 14 people werent down ... now its 15 xD

  • Still the best performance this show ever had. :)

  • :37 Someone Burped

  • 1:34 they were sharp. Like REALLY sharp. Other than that, this was amazing! I can see why they won. And that percussion was CRAZY!

  • @CourtneyEWashington Actually, rethinking it might have just been a key change. But isn't it kinda strange to have a key change at the very end of a song? :/

  • I don't like the nasal sound of the front man

  • I love this song and plus there so good

  • their vocal percussionist looks badass

  • This song won it for them.

  • super like! amazing... :)

  • This is the song that got them the win...

  • Wow 11 people have no taste for good musical talent these people rock idk what they were thinking but who knows i think they just missed the "like" button ^_^

  • The bass in this is amazing.

  • They one from this song

  • they are really good. they work good together

  • OMG THIS IS SICK!! WOOW LOVE THE LATIN SALSA N BACHATA FLAVA THEY ADDED!! SO AWESOME!!

  • You cant compare Nota with Committed because both groups have different styles of music. Nota and Commited are excellent groups in thei own style . its like comparing Salsa music to R&B

  • @suemmys yes but that said, I still like committed better

  • @suemmys good point but you can see how well nota can pull off adding that latino music into a song that doesnt even come close to latino music and still make it sound awesome is what makes them the best this show has had so far

  • @suemmys

well... yes and no. Committed is better at pulling off their style because they are simply tighter in their harmonies. This is harder to see in this video because of the arrangement, but even in this, for example, the harmonies that start at 1:14 are NOT as well done as most of the harmonies Committed was singing. Musically, Commited is better. You cannot tell me that Nota is a more talented group

This being said, Nota is very very good at what they do. They are fantastic performers.

  • @suemmys

You can't compare the styles themselves, but you can most definitely compare the groups. I can imagine Nota being in the top four of Season 2, but I doubt they would have won.

  • @IveBenCrazy I would disagree. Nota had a completely unique style to them, and they had no songs that went over badly. Committed in reality, had a very similar style to some of the other groups, and the runs and harmonics they were doing were so different than that of the Backbeats. Committed just stuck to their one genre and style of song, so they did well (and on one of their songs, did horribly) because of it.

  • @IveBenCrazy Consider the songs that Committed did. This Love, Apologize, and Usher. Every single song done exactly the same way, and the songs are from the same sort of genre. What did Nota do? I'm Yours, Down, Stayin' Alive, Jackson 5, and Sledgehammer. Very different types of music, from different genres. Guess what? Nota was able to do fantastic on every single one of them. Being the most talented group in Acapella is being able to do any sort of song you want, and performing it.

  • @xlmeay And as good as the arranger is (honestly, I preferred the Backbeats arrangement over all), the actual performance of the group is also a factor, and Nota isn't quite as good in that regard. Keep in mind, though, this is all just my opinion of course, and Nota is an AWESOME group. I'm trying to compare the best to the best. But it is definitely possible to compare groups in how well they perform their own particular style. That's all I'm trying to say.

  • @IveBenCrazy So how can you say that Nota did not perform well? Both the crowd and the judges loved the latin flavor that added to their songs everytime, and the fact that they had such insane vocal percussion was also their performance "WOW" factor. I was stating that though you can look at how well they did in their own style. I said that Nota has a unique style, while Committed didn't really have a style so different than the other groups. Each group won for different reasons.

  • @xlmeay

I feel like a broken record. They are amazing, obviously, because they won. They perform well, and the latin flavor was awesome. But they were not always clean. Whether or not you have a unique style, you should still have to out-sing the other groups. Nota did that sometimes. But not all the time.

  • Comment removed

  • @IveBenCrazy Your point is moot because Commited was not always clean, and they did not always out-sing other groups. Whenever any of the members used falsetto (The song Apologize is a good example) they went terribly terribly terribly flat, and Commited was out-sung during the entire Guilty Pleasures episode.

How can you say that Committed out-sung the other groups, when groups like the Backbeats consistently did more difficult arrangements and did more creative things with vocal effects?

  • @xlmeay

They were not the most in tune, but they kept up. I'm not entirely convinced that Nota could do the same. As you said before, if it were all on harmonics, Committed would not have won, and to be honest, they were not my favorite of the season. And most of the problems Committed and Street Corner symphony had were in the leads. There were chords that didn't sound right in some of Nota's stuff. It's just being picky, but if I ever worry about the group on stage, not sure...

  • @xlmeay

also, the reason both of these groups won is probably related to the fact that they just got popular. Completely unrelated, and complete bs. But as far as that goes, unique has troubles. Just sayin'.

  • @IveBenCrazy I would most definitely agree with you that each group won because they were popular. Nota (though I was happy with them winning) totally played up the show in Puerto Rico. The radio was going off constantly telling people to support and vote for them. A similar thing happened with Committed. They totally played up the "We are a very religious group" angle, and that got them a lot of votes. Except they didn't even do anything in a slightly religious or gospel style. They did Usher.

  • @xlmeay

at this point, if you post again, I'm just going to give up. I'm done arguing, because the seriously are both great groups. Just leaving you with something to think about. Here's my white flag.

  • @IveBenCrazy Were it just about being able to do harmonics the best, then Maxx Factor or Groove for Thought should have won.

  • @xlmeay

It's not just about harmonics, but to be the best, you should be able to stay in tune basically all the time. And being able to dominate a particular genre of music is still just as viable as doing great in many. I honestly would have liked to see Groove for Thought advance a little further simply because of their "Cooler than me" arrangement. Being able to convert any song to your genre is awesome. Unfortunately, that's a lot about the arranger for the group.

  • @IveBenCrazy And stop just trying to make me look like the enemy. I'm not saying they're bad. I am defending a point that they won the season 1 definitively, but it would be much more difficult to do the same against the caliber of groups that presented itself in the second season. They deserved first, and they are an amazing group. I'm sorry that I inputted the opinion that may have made you so defensive for them. Relax. That was never my purpose.

  • The jonas brothers wish they were this good

  • @Paulinaawesome14 got dat rite!

Just saw their new video for "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on their channel - NOTAVOCAL ... its AMAZZINNNGGGG

  • I'm watching this year's premiere right now.... it doesn't look good so far.

  • @Zachariahmiester Did you stick around for Committed? Wow. If they don't win, there is something wrong with this show. Hands down the best of either season by far.

  • @Force2BRW i will be so mad if those old dudes win this season

  • @ferrarienzo564i hate the back beats...well they are good in all but they should have been out last episode....they only mad it cause the did like a sad song and they were crying probs. and the hole time it was that one girl singing.......i think thewy should have been out instead of on thee rocks it should have been placed like this i think 5 backbeats 4 on the rocks 3 ....im stuck between street corner and old guys...1 commited

  • @alyykatt4 I disagree. The judges had to pick between a group with a super thick, solid sound, and one with an average sound, but can be really entertaining. As Ben Folds was saying the entire competition, he wanted to see artistry, and that came too late for OtR.

  • Puerto Rico representinnnn<3

  • I always think of them when I hear this song. :]

  • that soloist's voice is like silk...smooooooth.
