ive been doing a lot of reading of your comments wile i was loading this vedio i would try a little simpler try going relly simple like u brush from top down i mean like relly simple like 100 not 101 that way there is not confusion and it makes a great vedio with lots of helpful tips
it looks like she's barely pressing down esepcially when using the curry. if you just set it on them you're not gonna do much. you can use quite a bit of pressure without hurting them.
guys chill! i ride there & its just a fairly mediocre schooling barn. its reallyyyy cheap 4 lessons there but u get good value 4 the price. & i mean its like 1 of 3 non private barns in the area. u cant get any better w/o spending a fortune & driving a waaaays out of ur way.
This was a very poor demonstration of "proper" grooming of a horse. A curry should be used in small circular motions, not huge wide useless circles shown here, never use the large, hard rubber curry brush below the knee or on the face (small, softer specialty curry combs have been made specifically for the face & lower leg), after the curry you should use a medium stiff "flick" brush to remove dead hair & dirt & then use a soft body brush.. this entire vid is worthless for teaching grooming.
She says "...and that will enable more dirt and mud to be caked in their foot." She meant to say that will disable dirt and mud from caking in the foot. *sigh*
She did a horrible job explaining how to use a curry comb. What she should have said is something more like this "This is a curry comb. It's used for bringing the dirt and loose hairs to the surface of the horse so you can brush them off with a body brush. You move it in circular motions starting at the neck and moving back. You should use it on the body of the horse, you don't need to use it on the head. You can use a soft, rubbery curry comb on the legs, but never a hard, stiff curry comb."
I am sorry.. But the dandy brush is to hard for the horses legs and the soft dandy is ment for his whole body... and the curly comb is expose to be in a circle moment and fast

Technically, you shouldn't use a dandy brush on it's legs, where the bones are. And you should use a proper face brush for the face.
