I think this film sh**ts on Lord of the Mings. Burglecut gettin crapped on his head , Volcar the greatest warrior in village, Meeegosh > Val Kilmer s best role since Ice Man. (or heat) This is definitelt to all others to quote ERIC " OUT OF THE WAY, PECK"
man, this was actually pretty good!.Well, it was when i was 12. Obviously fairly cheesy now, especially after 'Life's Too Short'... but this is a great fantasy movie worth checking out.
But now, you can't appreciate the film and just want to laugh at Warwick..(sigh).
Willow is basically a fantasy take on some of the ideas George Lucas had when he was creating the story of Star Wars. One possible version of Luke was a Dwarf, and another was a young woman instead of a young guy.
thumbs up if your here after watching Warwick Davison Life's too short, but after watching the trailer you have no desire to watch the actual film. lol
when I was in grade five they randomly took the entire school and brought us into the gym, sat us on the floor and put this on a giant projector. we watched the entire movie. to this day i am still confused as to why we stop classes to randomly watch a movie but i'm glad we did. nobody talked for most of the movie, we were so engrossed by it.
I remember this movie when I was a little kid, still one of my favorite movies ever I was like 4 when this came out and I'm 27 now, just lastnight watched the special edition of Willow, brings back a lot of memories. Great movie
There was a trilogy sequel to that movie that came out in the 90's.
Willow gets hard-as-fuck and in the first hundred pages murders a teenage boy with his bare hands.
Tyrion has his wits, Willow changes his name to Thorn Drumheller and does some face-smashing and mad-magic. The actor who player Willow has been on Lucas for years to make that trilogy, and I can't blame him, it would be easily worked into movies.
Sucks that they never made a follow up to this. :-/ I used to play the shit out of the arcade game, and it took me forever to get past the wagon part in stage 2.
@subslament it's actually one of the best action/adventure films of all time... kids that just watched reading rainbow would have nightmares after seeing this :)
This was one of the greats ,I feel sorry for kids growing up now who don't know this stuff and get the game dungeons and dragons if you haven't already
FROM THE CREATOR OF STAR WARS EPISODES 1 2 AND 3 COMES AN EPIC DRAMA SO CONTRIVED, SO IMPROBABLE, THAT NO ONE WILL EVEN REMEMBER THIS MOVIE IN 20 YEARS

Face it people - George Lucas is one of the most overrated directors and never made something good except the first 3 Star Wars episodes and for 2 of them he only gave the money.
This is the sort of film i watched when i was young, this and the never ending story, labrynth, legend, return to Oz, dragonslayer, and the land before time etc. With the exeption of the land before time all the others used actors and animatronic puppets to create their creatures, now its CGI CGI CGI!!. Its a real shame.
@merovingianking1 And CGI is suppose to be a bad thing? If it weren't for CGI, things like photorealistic dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, or the King Kong in Peter Jackson's remake, or any of the creatures in his Lord of the Rings films, or the bullet time in The Matrix, and much more couldn't have existed.
Don't hate on CGI just cause some filmmakers abuse it.
@crazymustan Jurrasic Park was so well done. It is hard to tell it is even CG!...but today you can spot it right away. In 1993 they were better at CG then they are now haha. In 1993 they were better at everything to be honest...everything is all cheap and corny nowadays.
Honestly, today's CGI is good. As long as the storylines are good, then why not add fantastic graphics and realistic creatures to a film? When I see old movies with terrible CGI, it makes me cringe. Yes, it looks terrible.
But CGI is only going to improve with technology. Look at Avatar - would you rather watch stupid people running around in alien suits, or perfectly realistic 3D alien-like creatures?
Computerisation is the future. Get used to it. xD
How does the phrase go: "necessity is the mother of invention". That is the one measure by which old school fx will always have an edge over cgi. Because of their inherent limitations they required more ingenuity, sometimes resulting in designs that were beyond simple imagination.
