You have to admit though, the east village looks a lot better then it did 10 years ago. They've torn / shut down a lot of buildings (think Cecil) and have put up a few nicer looking ones. That's a start. No doubt though theres some big challenges in that part of town.

I used to live in the area and this is the same rhetoric I've heard from every other politician on the subject. It's meaningless.

The infrastructure is there as I have been there too and seen it for myself and biked through that area for many years.

Problem is with three homeless shelters, there could be issues with who builds there. I no longer ride my bike near the drop in centre. Twice I have been accosted and one time I was accused of being a narc. I had to go home and look that up.
