I see several DPU trains in East Texas usually Unit Grain, BNSF Coal Trains, and on UP mainfests coming out of Missouri. Usuall a GEVO, SD90MAC or SD 70Ace on the rear.
Wow, that's a looooong train! Trains are still the best way of transporting goods, environmentally friendly and usually not too slow. Quite noisy though.
The Last Caboose is registered DODX... Department of Defense. X meaning private car. Either it was being transported to a Armed Forces Base or serving as a escort with the current stock.
BRING BACK THE CABOOSES :-(

I favorited this video! :-) You know, it's rare that you see freight trains with cabooses on them nowadays! :-(

those are common in many areas such as western pa or areas in the west where there are big grades, they use dpu's or helpers

trains in the rocky mountains in canada have four locomotives...two at the front...one at the rear...and one mid-train

You're right, why they have an EOTD or FRED on the Caboose? It not supposed to be the end or the train anyway? LOL.

This is a "dead-head" move back to storage. Even when these cabooses are occupied, they still use a FRED.
