what training would ye recommend for an u12 cyclist in the national championships, ireland? im currently doing 4 training sesions a week, two of which are intervals, 1 is a long endurance cycle at the weekend (usually about 60km) and the last one was a recovery cycle but i now will probably do hill repeats instead. any advice would be great. thanks
I am not a complete person without cycling. Through all the suffering, there is always the hope of the finish line that drives each pedal stroke. It will ALWAYS be worth it. Beautiful video.
where are the helmets ?... in aus its illegal to ride without a helmet, but hey whatever floats youre boat!, crazy you come off a road bike and splat, i admire the balls, im a helmet man!!!
everybody knows we all have faults, failures, regrets so on. cycling is the hardest sports out there...evenan amatuer knows there is no such thing as a romantic pic of cycling that may be portrayed.its hard, uncomfortable and 99% going home and telling everyone I ended up in the bunch, chain broke, punctured or got blown out the back of bunch. if i have children i will point them in the direction of you Jan..MR JAN ULLRICH.. LEGEND! if you happen to see this video.Maith Thu!! great vid
cycling is good for health, economy & environment! i wish all people in the world turn to cycling as much as possible if the distance to travel is not too far, instead of car, bus or train that surely pollute the air with their exhausts. cyclists are the pioneer environmentalists, me being one of them :) all the best wishes to the cyclists around the world!

Cyclists, especially these types, are nasty cockroaches. They need to be scrawny like a horse jockey, but also need some strength to pump their pedals. The result is aggressive mutants that are nasty and they hate anyone who gets in the way of their addictive pedal pumping. They are also impudent because of the pressure on their tiny balls from the bicycle seat. They are irritating pieces of head lice and should be sprayed with poison. Aggressive and frustrated. The poor wretches.

well it has to do with the figure, and with this figure you can built up your specialities. When you're small and light, you could become a climber more easy, If you're a bit heavy and big, you could be a good sprinter.
Anyone can learn how to ride a bike, as long as you put enough time and discipline in it. I've been biking for 10 years now. And i see i'm growing and growing.
I hope I improve on being able to simply ride one. My handling skills leave a lot to be desired.
Going along, I looked back, looked forward again, and suddenly my front wheel was going from underneath me. Straight over the handlebars. Must say, it was quite a thrill.
So much respect for these guys. Scratch that, I have respect for all dedicated cyclists.
Over 100 Kph downhill is not that hard to achieve if you know what you're doing. I clocked around 100 kph descending Mont Ventoux last summer. Knees pressed to your upper horizont. tube, low on the steer, all the way back on your seat(or even behind it if possible) and try to keep your back low and flat. This'll give you an most excellent aerodynamic position(well, about as good as it gets on a bike and without an aerohelmet) Use pulse breaking instead of long pushes on the handles.
the most recommended sport by physicians. You only benefit from cycling. Trust me, Motorcyclists in their harleys have admiration for us cyclists. Mmotorcyclists ride their bikes.....we do also but..............WE ARE THE ENGINE.

I cycle 75 miles every morning before I go to work. I do 75 miles in just under an hour. I've got an old Raleigh Chopper which I have modified with some 16" carbon rims for weight-improvement and some mirrors and a sound system. oh, and it's got 3 gears.
I don't mean to sound a prick but haven't you noticed the scandal in the US? Also some major cross-country skiers have been busted earlier than these cyclists.
