When I was a kid I wanted Donna Summer to feel my love. I heard she liked white goes so I thought I had a chance. She probably liked RICH white guys so I was out of the running.
This song blew me away the first time my roomate Doug Barnes, one the greatest DJs ever, played this at Gio´s in Champaign, Illinois. That dance floor hopped, Kristi Johansen´s tambourine almost caught fire. :)
Can't seem to watch other versions of the video. Just love the song and the feel of that music of the time. She was the only true amazing voice of the past as well as Amy Stewart.
@darealdeedee In my humble opinion, nobody else could have pulled it off. Maybe, just maybe one of the Abba women or Sylvester, otherwise no competition for Donna
this is the song which has definetly change the sound of music today, donna is a milestone in the evolution of music , she is a legend and yet so underated , i'm still waiting for the album that will put her at the place she deserves , the greatest vocalist , performer of this aerea.
The biggest shame is that people do not know just how innovative this song was. Donna Summer - like many American artists - went first to Europe to get her feet wet. In Germany she met up with Kraftwerk. Her sultry soul style was fused with their electronic experimentation and Americans did not realize that they were being treated to the first EVER top 40 techno song...A SOLID 25 YEARS before it ever became a trend!
me enkanta esta kancion!!! y este video lo buske por mucho tiempo y no lo enkontraba!! gracias de antemanooo :) donna summer tan subliem komo siempre!!!

I think it was the other way around, Giorgio Morode definitely had an influence on Kraftwerk.
No one can touch Midnight Express.

Donna hasn't anything to do with this song, except the vocal performance! She just was lucky...

@arkady714 She worked with Giorgio Moroder, not Kraftwerk-- Kraftwerk were definitely an influence on Moroder, though.
