I just heard of "moody" or "inconsistent" and Smogon says it's broken. I thought, "Broken? It sounds like acupressure. Such fun." Then I watched this battle... With protect and sub it's just too easy to get your stats boosted. The soak/energy ball combination is fantastic btw.

I have a moody Octillery. It kicks so much ass on the switch ins! Such amazing power with Moody, Managed to grab two special defensive boost which saved my ass and one accuracy boost. Mopped the floor with this Japanese guy who had two Minimize boosts. I'm blessed that such a Pokemon was able to obtain such a powerful ability that I damn nearly cried.

(Just pissed off every smogonite in America).

I have that exact same gardevoir o.o It has the same moveset, (from what I know in this video) it's scarfed, it's EV spread is similar, it's timid and it's named White Mage. That's really creepy ._.

i disagree with smogon banning inconsistent, its not a surefire way to get evasion boosts, its kinda like a free acupressure boost at the end of every turn (with one stat drop) and they never put a ban on acupressure

Inconsistent will slowly but eventually make your primary stats +6. It's always that way on the Pokemon Online simulator. Everytime I am able to set-up with Octillery and/or Smeargle for an extended period of time on PO...I have like 4-5 stats at +6

That was sped up like times 3 or 4. Must have taken for-ever to record, thats reason enough to not use inconsistent octillery. He's not the only one who gets inconsistent, right?

I bet GameFreak mainly wanted to sell lots of stuff to kids who love the animé, but still GameFreak puts in all the game mechanics in the games (which I highly doubt any of the kids really take note of) my guess is that GameFreak from the start only saw pokemon as a kid show like any other, but they realized more than just kids like to play it and they put in some game mechanics that allow pokemon to be a popular strategy game.
