I dont understand why secondary fermentation has to be made in a pub? Couldnt casks be left in a brewery cellar for second fermentation and then sold to pub?
Interesting that this legendary show had the same length-of-run as the recent new Discovery experiment, "Brew Masters". Thanks so much for uploading these, they are a global treasure and I wish that Discover still made the videos available for sale.
@andymill32 My own thoughts exactly. Had the tape lying around for years, and discovered recently that you cannot find it back anywhere, not on DVD and not online, so I decided to do something about it! Sorry for the Dutch subtitles, but it's better than nothing.
@AshtonArcher Hi, I use the Grass Valley ADVC55 Analog-digital converter. Before that I used the Elgato Video Capture, but the ADVC55 produces better quality.
@CaptainJos Thanks for that. Sorry to be a pain, but I've been reading about the unit (sounds pretty good), but I don't have a Firewire port on my PC, so what type of cable would I need to get?
@AshtonArcher in that case I'd instead recommend the Dazzle Video Creator Plus HD. I think it's around $100, and it's a very good device as well. Since it uses USB2.0 it's better suited for your needs.
@AshtonArcher No problem. The ADVC55 will work on a new MacBook pro, BUT you will have to buy a separate Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable. The ADVC55 has an Firewire 400 (6-pin) port, while your shiny new MBP only has a Firewire 800 (9-pin) port. If you buy a proper converter cable it will work. I believe Belkin makes a good one. You can check your local dealer, or else I'd be happy to look into it for you.
@CaptainJos Cheers for that - I will get a converter from the Apple website and then once I get the kit I'll be all set (hopefully) I'm watching an ADVC110 on eBay at the moment (for a good price) is that a better piece of kit?
@AshtonArcher Difference between ADVC55 and ADVC110 is that the 110 has digital+analog video output, the 55 has only digital output. For me that's enough, since all I do is digitize tapes.

@CaptainJos Hi, sorry to bother you (yet again), but I've now purchased a new Macbook Pro - will the ADVC55 work with it?
