You will notice that enemies explode with firecracker/star like effects. Hal worked on Kirby and SSE, so there are going to be similarities in the platforming and art design. If anything people were saying that SSE was similar to kirby(somehow you got the reverse). Finally iirc when nintendo first announced brawl...

1-The gameplay of this game is like kirby superstar from the snes, with the ability to summon partners to help you but wotha a lot of improvments, like new powers and more partners

2-Iwata is the Executive Producer of Brawl and the productor of Kirby Superstar so there is no coincidense with the gameplay

BUT you did make a point with the Dedede Robot and Galeon, maybe Iwata posposed the kirby adventure when he was ask to do Brawl
