@MrDragonknight i've seen a friend using 1090t and he's not really happy with tempeatures. 1100t is a better processor because of the thermal success.
@Games4LifeSWE get the 1090t .. its not that expensive.. but the IIx4 975 does fine for games.. since its 4 cores, the 1090t is great speed and 6 cores..
i recommend the 1090t. but if you're budget tight, go for the IIx4 975 you can unlock the other cores with a good motherboard
@MrDragonknight94 The thing is that i want the very high.-end processor i can get for my MOBO (AM3) and currently, i think this is the very best for my MOBO.
You should buy AMD Phenom II 1100T cause it can runs every application and gaming that you need. Bring game to the next level, also it's easy to overlock with low power consumtion and it cost is very friendly
@juanmanuel7712 In gaming, the i5 2500k. You can argue the i5 is better at everything but I'd say the Phenom x6 is better for video rendering and things of that nature. But, the i7 2600k is probably the best choice.
@awesomereece123 I will use the processor for gaming, modulation and video editing, but most games and editing videos, photos and music, will the i7 is the best in all that? I am content with vallan best games with the i7 with i5
@juanmanuel7712 Get the i7 2600k. It's cheaper than the i7 980x and 990x, works at a better performance most of the time. It isn't too expensive, it's a little more expensive than a bulldozer, not much. And it performs better than any other AMD/i5 processor by quite a bit.
hey, i saw that the amd phenom x6 1100T can only run max 1333mhz memory. why do you use 2000mhz please let me know, cuz if i am wromg i would like to know!
@mastercalle The AMD Phenom II X6 1100T is a processor and the ATI Radeon HD 6850 is a graphics card, they are both needed. In fact i have both in my system and I love them, they work great.
@Soda126 Hah ... same here. Although I did get the 6850 from Sapphire ... better cooling .... makes for a shitload of power, though, a system like that can pretty much handle anything today ...
exce3llent review! is there anywhere that I can get advice on the safest and best way to o/c my system based on the components? based on your reviews, you seem to have an excellent knowledge of amd products...thanks.. g/byte ga970-da , phenom II 1100T, RADEON 6770 (SAPPHIRE), 8 GB 1866 DDR3 (G-SKILL) , STORM SCOUT CASE, COOLERMASTER N520 sleeve cooler, coolermaster silent pro m700 80 plus bronze ,barracuda 1.5 tb 6.0 sata (my first build since an apple IIe in 1988) build day thursday 10/6
@Axcoh I would go with the 1100T personally. you might want to pair it with a cpu liquid cooler, like an h50 or something. pair it with 4GB of DDR3 @1333mhz and an ASUS M5A78L-M LX. That's for more budget oriented, but if you wanna get the most out of a pc, go with a gigabyte ga-990xa-ud3 mobo, 8GB ddr3 @1866mhz, and a WD caviar black 7,200RPM SATA 6GB/s 1tb just to top it off. The PC is highly upgradeable, so as soon as the new am3+ socket CPU's are released you can upgrade.
okay bro soo, i need yer help! i dont know what to choose: 1100t x6 or the 2600k. Im going to be getting a good video card for either so they have good fps. But there is like a $246 difference. Im going to be using the desktop for gaming and multitasking mostly. Also, i want to start burning blue rays. So do i need a bluray dvdr and a regular dvdr to do the job? Or two blu ray drives, ora rewritable blue ray drive? Not 2 familiar about torrents. Idk, im lost lol. Thanks for any help man!
@Orion00152 if you have to ask questions like that i suggest you have someone else work on your pc, no offense. its just easy to make expensive mistakes.
@wwefinfan Games these days don't require super amount of cores but maybe GHz. @BloodlessSalvation i like to run alot of programs while playing my games soo i got a computer from hp with the 1100t 6 core =] with a 2gig geforce 530gt graphics card with 9 gigs of ram sounds good?
Hi mates, I'm looking for a CPU to do my 3D rendering. Can you suggest me one? But please no those professionals with thousands of dollars. I'm looking something withing a range of 200-300 dollars. I currently have an AMD1055T but I need something stronger.
Hey i have the same Prossesor just got it yesterday, Can you help me overclock it to 4.1ghz as you did, maybe you could make a video if is not such a hasol
How does he get it to run at 3.9ghz. I am new to higher spec computers but how do you actually change the ghz what programmes and settings do i need to go on and change
@hikinguphigh Not at all. :) Before the post screen, there should be a screen with an array of options. For example, f11= bios setup end=qflash or f12 = boot device. Now, these are the options for my motherboard. Your motherboard is almost certainly going to be different. What you want to look for is the hot-key that leads to the bios setup. In there you will find a wide array of options to choose from. It's likely to be under something to do with frequency settings.(to be cont. in next comment)
@hikinguphigh So just poke around in the bios without changing any of the settings. If you think you have, don't worry about it. You can exit without saving and nothing you did will have any effect. Overclocking can get a bit harry once you encounter stability issues, especially when you don't have an unlocked CPU. I might be posting a vid about this soon, so check out my channel over the course of the next few days, I should have something up.
The stock cooler that comes with this CPU isn't bad at all. On my rig (which has a lot of ventilation), when idled the temp is 17 degrees, but when at 100% load it gets to 51 degrees (55 degrees when overclocked to 3.7Ghz). I am not much of an overclocker, so I just run it at its default 3.3Ghz most of the time ;)
I'm going to buy two 6950s at 1 GB. If I overclock them, will they be able to run upcoming games?....for example Battlefield 3. Oh and my new core will also be a 3.3 Ghz AMD 1100T. 8 GB RAM ddr3....I'm ready right?...right?
I would like to point out to a lot of people who are horribly misinformed when it comes to CPUs. Your network connection and graphics card are going to account for 90% or more of your gaming performance. The reviewer in this video even says so at around the 5:00 mark.
A cpu like this is designed for heavy cpu threaded tasks, that can use the processing power offered by this beast, not your average game that is only using 2-4 cores at the best of times.
@OverclockerXno1 my cpu is not use for gaming or not because i try team fortress 2 on everything on low and i get alot of lag when in big fights but its still to good to play through.btw i have windows 7 ult, and nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 430
Intel change socket design a lot more often and currently Intel CPUs are generally much more expensive too. So, upgrading an Intel system is not so fun. I've had my current E6600 for several years now and it's first now I'm thinking about upgrading CPU but all socket 775 CPUs that are for sale at the moment are not compatible with my motherboard.
I'm going with AMD even though Intel's CPUs are faster. Intel is way too expensive and you can't wait too long for upgrading.
@OverclockerXno1 I would say no because nothin maxes the sixcore while the Graphicscard is used fully... I am using the 1055t @ 3,5 GHZ with the eah 5770 and i am not gettin into trouble...
hi i have a amd phenom ii x3 720 2.8ghz and i wanna buy this AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition, just wondering, how do you enable turbo mode?, and second thing, i have a bios were cant overclock i cant change anything in the bios will those thing change in the bios ?
What program was he using to get the CPU Temperature? Because I have this CPU and the fan is constantly running full blast... I want to see what the temperature is
OK maybe in today gaming the I7 is slightly better but in a few years(or more years) when 6-cores will be the standart the Core i7-2600k will be useless
And the AMD is cheaper so it's clear its the smarter and more future proof choice
@Hapikern yeah my mistake, hyperthreading is Intel's name for Simultaneous multithreading, AMD uses Simultaneous multithreading too, but their technology is weaker so they didn't name it.
The FX has 8 threads and 8 cores
And an thread is not equal in performance with an core, not even 6 are
@Patrunic Hyperthreading adds only 4 logical cores, which gives like 15% more performance in multi-threaded applications. It doesn't mean double the performance.
@sardo97 As far as price to performance ration... YES! THIS IS WAY BETTER!
Most games dont use 6 cores... Or even 4 cores for that matter... You could get a great gaming CPU plus 2 extra cores, I mean come on, if a game is optimized for 2-cores and you have 6 it cant hurt right?! So I'd go with the AMD 6-core, or even a 4-core AMD if you want to save even more cash.
where he said the cpu is not meant for gaming hes right but wrong , right now games are bearly requiring quad cores , tri cores , but coming up in 2012/2013 games are going to be requiring 6 cores
for future questions : the 2500K is better than ANY AMD CPU atm and the price is on par with the Phenom II X6 1100T ( at least in my country ) so unless your budget is limited get the 2500K :)
@iOzzyyyyy 2500K. google "2500K vs 1090T" or 1100T and you'll see the intel is much better. I had to choose between a 2500K and a 1100T 3 months ago and i'm glad i chose the 2500K.
@Darkteammadfiz Even Intel i5 2500k outperform Amd x6 1100t in almost every aspect. Get the i5 if you're in the $200 budget.
Amd used to be really good in term of performance/price but now their performance are mediocre compared to Intel.
But Amd is going to come out with a new processor engineered and designed from scratch with a new architecture which they claim could outperform Intel i7 by 50%. Don't know when they will be available though.

@TheVirtualRalph no in IPS instructions per second. Every cpu company has their own core design(combination of Arithmetic problem solving units and registers, instruction storage) and intels core designs since the core 2 duo have had a higher IPS count than AMD per core. It is logical to have fewer stronger cores than to have multiple weak ones especially if your programs only run on 1 or 2 threads. The GHZ hype is over its all about efficiency now if a 1ghz cpu beats the 3ghz im getting the 1gz

i wil l buy this cpu AMD Phenom II X6 1100T but works that on win xp and on M4A785DM PRO
619volkan 7 months ago
The stock cooler that comes with this CPU isn't bad at all. On my rig (which has a lot of ventilation), when idled the temp is 17 degrees, but when at 100% load it gets to 51 degrees (55 degrees when overclocked to 3.7Ghz). I am not much of an overclocker, so I just run it at its default 3.3Ghz most of the time ;)

oh and btw my system is going to be a gaming rig so please help me with this

What would you choose, Intel Core i7 950 3,03 Ghz or this one? I am seriously leaning towards this one.
187ed187 7 months ago
@187ed187 At 4Ghz the X6 is apparently on par with a i7-930 or so. Whatever your moneys limit is i guess..
Slowshyy 7 months ago
Would you reccomend getting this now or waiting for the FX-8130P 8 core to come out?
SHaDoWofAniMoSity 7 months ago
I will tell you one game that is engineered around multi-cores: Rigs of Rods. That's why i bought this processor
FoxMcCloudMyHero 7 months ago
I'm going to buy two 6950s at 1 GB. If I overclock them, will they be able to run upcoming games?....for example Battlefield 3. Oh and my new core will also be a 3.3 Ghz AMD 1100T. 8 GB RAM ddr3....I'm ready right?...right?

@Stealyourcrap your worieng if your gona run bf 3 -.- my intel i5 760 and ati 5770 will run it at high im soo sure in that...

RPMprocess 7 months ago
@RPMprocess Network connection got nothing to do with performance does it? O_O

OverclockerXno1 7 months ago
@OverclockerXno1 my cpu is not use for gaming or not because i try team fortress 2 on everything on low and i get alot of lag when in big fights but its still to good to play through.btw i have windows 7 ult, and nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 430
dark8216 7 months ago
@dark8216 considering that lag will be due to server latency and not system specs I would say your system is running fine

Quasi84 7 months ago
I KNOW THIS MIGHT SOUND STUPID BUT CAN U USE THIS CPU WITH AN INTEL MOTHERBOARD ? PLEASE RESPOND
1SH0T2K1LLS 7 months ago
@1SH0T2K1LLS
Nope. Intel processors have different sockets.

Is this CPU better than an Intel Core i7-2600k For gaming?
sardo97 8 months ago
@sardo97 YES.
OK maybe in today gaming the I7 is slightly better but in a few years(or more years) when 6-cores will be the standart the Core i7-2600k will be useless
And the AMD is cheaper so it's clear its the smarter and more future proof choice
Ucsemis 8 months ago
@Ucsemis future proof? HA you have no idea what you're talking about. Also the i7 2600k has hyperthreading so it has a hypothetical 8 cores so gtfo.
Patrunic 8 months ago
@Patrunic yeah..the FX with 8 cores has hyperthreading superior to the I7. so it has hypothetical 20 cores....
your 2600k dosen't look that "visibly smart" now
Ucsemis 8 months ago
@Ucsemis AMD's new FX 8 core processors doesn't have hyperthreading of any equivalent technology. They have 8 physical cores.
Hapikern 8 months ago
@Hapikern yeah my mistake, hyperthreading is Intel's name for Simultaneous multithreading, AMD uses Simultaneous multithreading too, but their technology is weaker so they didn't name it.
The FX has 8 threads and 8 cores
And an thread is not equal in performance with an core, not even 6 are
Ucsemis 8 months ago
@Patrunic Hyperthreading adds only 4 logical cores, which gives like 15% more performance in multi-threaded applications. It doesn't mean double the performance.
Hapikern 8 months ago
@sardo97 As far as price to performance ration... YES! THIS IS WAY BETTER!
Most games dont use 6 cores... Or even 4 cores for that matter... You could get a great gaming CPU plus 2 extra cores, I mean come on, if a game is optimized for 2-cores and you have 6 it cant hurt right?! So I'd go with the AMD 6-core, or even a 4-core AMD if you want to save even more cash.
DrSpike666 8 months ago
where he said the cpu is not meant for gaming hes right but wrong , right now games are bearly requiring quad cores , tri cores , but coming up in 2012/2013 games are going to be requiring 6 cores
sladewehner1 8 months ago
@sladewehner1 BFBC2 uses all 6...BFBC3 will probably do the same.

for future questions : the 2500K is better than ANY AMD CPU atm and the price is on par with the Phenom II X6 1100T ( at least in my country ) so unless your budget is limited get the 2500K :)

@iOzzyyyyy 2500K. google "2500K vs 1090T" or 1100T and you'll see the intel is much better. I had to choose between a 2500K and a 1100T 3 months ago and i'm glad i chose the 2500K.

Darkteammadfiz 8 months ago
