A few hundred or a few thousand years from now, maybe Halo will be considered realistic, just like how Jules Verne and Arthur C. Clarke got a few details right before science had caught up with them. Maybe it will be considered more like fantasy, kinda like how Arthur C. Clarke missed the mark when he had us traveling to Saturn and Jupiter and dealing with intelligent computers a decade ago.

@kvbcorrie Well, pretty much all of the ships travel faster than light, that's how they get from Earth to Reach to Alpha Halo to Delta Halo to that big halo factory thing. And yes, the energy weapons, as you said, are used by the covenant, which doesn't make it any more realistic. The Spartans might not be right-out cyborgs now that I think about it, I think I got my Halo and Marathon mixed up there. Still genetically enhanced though.

I played both Halo and CoD, why the fuck you compare these, as said, they're completely different, and if you haven't played CoD just STFU Halo fanboys, I played CoD from the first one, when CoD was only a WW2 FPS, like I played Halo from Halo: CE, definitely some of the best games I have ever played.
I was 7 when I first started playing Halo, it's an honor to have stuck by Bungie and Halo through all their hard times, knowing that another amazing game was only around the corner, and sure enough, I didn't appreciate it when I was younger, but looking back, I still get that same amazing feeling whenever I play Halo: Combat Evolved. Nostalgia, and epicness for the win!
people should stop bashing COD. i LOVE halo and the story line in MW2 and black ops are actually very good. MW2 was like a thriller it was full of twists and action, and Black Ops always kept me wondering what the numbers were and also had good twists. COD might not have the soundtrack but its has the story aswell

Halo rocks, haven't beaten reach on legendary yet, but i'm working on it. Hopefully they make dlc so that extra players are shown in coop campaign cutscenes.

@Empolean230 No, ODST's are just as easily infected. The Infection Forms shred armor like toilet paper, which is why even Chief's armor can only protect with shields. Even then, one Infector got through and nearly killed him.
Cole Protocol...That was an AWESOME look into the ways Elites live. But it wasn't a best-seller...I'm sure Fall of Reach was, and maybe First Strike...NOT sure, though.
@Empolean230 No, ONLY the part with the ODST's was annoying. The Covie-side view was really good...however: the death scene for Keyes' crew was very lame. The death scene for Zamamee or w/e was REALLY lame, especially after all the buildup. I mean, "hop in a Shade, get nade'd, dead...the end."
The Grunt was sad, though...knowing he was about to die and taking one last moment of peace...
It was an "OK" novel, but they could have done MUCH better.

I think Halo 3s sountrack was the best. Both Halo 3 and 2 were mostly remakes of the Halo 1 soundtrack. They added some melodies that I really didn't enjoy in Halo 2, however Unforgotten was great. Then again, Unforgotten is just a remake of a tune I heard on older Bungie game. The guitar in Halo 2, to me, ruined the atmosphere, it didn't suit anything. The Halo 3's more orchestraic attempt really set the moods, and to me was just overall better.
Call of Duty was fun until they Fucked it up by making a modern combat shit. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO WORLD WAR TWO?
CoD sucks now because of MW, MW2, and Black Ops. I played World at War for like ten minutes and it was fun, good graphics and all - but why is all this going? what happened to good ol' Big Red One when you could just beat 'em down? Or Finest Hour, the epic Russian beginning?

@TaliPani That's not true, it seems that like a lot of Halo fanboys you don't know that MW2 is a sequel to CoD4, which have a good story, excellent soundtrack, and a multiplayer with no overpowered killstreaks, actually, it have only 3 killstreaks. And MW2 story isn't that bad, it is only poorly explained in-game, as I said, it's a sequel to CoD4, and the soundtrack DEFINITELY ISN'T bad.

in my opinion the thing that made Halo CE so good was the sense of exploration, halo 2 had it as we'll but the funked up the gameplay by confining enemies to a small path, halo 3 fixed gameplay but didn't have the sense of exploration, and using the flood as a plot device got kinda old..... although they say halo reach will bring back the exploration of halo 1, and the gameplay of halo 3, wich will hopefully make it an awsome game, posibly rivaling Halo CE. Forklifts Forever!

COD: No story, crap graphics, useless boring multiplayer, no characters, plain old enemies, gaes all about the same things, no soundtrack, no legacy, crap everything.

@TheVideoperson25 The cold war never materialised into direct conflict.. The first gulf war was fought solely against the Iraqi military, not terrorists.. and NATO has been fighting in Afghanistan for 10 years, I fail to see how that is not an actual conflict..

@Empolean230 Ah, there's ANOTHER thing about that novel I hate: MC, instead of being the strong, silent warrior EVERYONE knows him as, he's actually portrayed as a big softy, talking openly to anyone about anything...just bugged me.

I probably have to read TF again don't I? xD But seriously, the Chief acted like he does in 2/3, he spoke occasionally. I can't remember many occasions (Apart from with the crazed marine in the facility) where he spoke in a campaign level. That sounds bad, knowing what parts of the book are "a campaign level" xD. But yeah, he only spoke to the crazed marine during those parts, from what I remember.

@Empolean230 No, ODST's are just as easily infected. The Infection Forms shred armor like toilet paper, which is why even Chief's armor can only protect with shields. Even then, one Infector got through and nearly killed him.
Cole Protocol...That was an AWESOME look into the ways Elites live. But it wasn't a best-seller...I'm sure Fall of Reach was, and maybe First Strike...NOT sure, though.

@Empolean230 No, ONLY the part with the ODST's was annoying. The Covie-side view was really good...however: the death scene for Keyes' crew was very lame. The death scene for Zamamee or w/e was REALLY lame, especially after all the buildup. I mean, "hop in a Shade, get nade'd, dead...the end."
The Grunt was sad, though...knowing he was about to die and taking one last moment of peace...
It was an "OK" novel, but they could have done MUCH better.

@Empolean230 "The Flood" was the only Halo novel I considered as total crap and not even worthy of being "FanFiction"...it seriously added SO MUCH that doesn't make sense, and for the heck of it, I don't even think the Autumn was even EQUIPPED with ODST drop-pod stations...

I think Halo 3s sountrack was the best. Both Halo 3 and 2 were mostly remakes of the Halo 1 soundtrack. They added some melodies that I really didn't enjoy in Halo 2, however Unforgotten was great. Then again, Unforgotten is just a remake of a tune I heard on older Bungie game. The guitar in Halo 2, to me, ruined the atmosphere, it didn't suit anything. The Halo 3's more orchestraic attempt really set the moods, and to me was just overall better.

Call of Duty was fun until they Fucked it up by making a modern combat shit. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO WORLD WAR TWO?
CoD sucks now because of MW, MW2, and Black Ops. I played World at War for like ten minutes and it was fun, good graphics and all - but why is all this going? what happened to good ol' Big Red One when you could just beat 'em down? Or Finest Hour, the epic Russian beginning?
Halo is better than the new CoD games now.

You play HALO if you want a atmospheric single player shooter with a good story.... and you play COD if you don't care about the story and soundtrack and only want instant multiplayer action with a motivating ranking system (dä dädä dädä)

@TaliPani That's not true, it seems that like a lot of Halo fanboys you don't know that MW2 is a sequel to CoD4, which have a good story, excellent soundtrack, and a multiplayer with no overpowered killstreaks, actually, it have only 3 killstreaks. And MW2 story isn't that bad, it is only poorly explained in-game, as I said, it's a sequel to CoD4, and the soundtrack DEFINITELY ISN'T bad.

The Halo:CE soundtrack (like, the actual soundtrack album) was easily the best, it was pure halo, none of this random shitty rock band bullshit (listen to Connected, the last track on the Halo 2 soundtrack, eurghh) at least the Halo 3 one is okay

I am sooooooo gonna buy this game on my Xbox and play through the whole thing once Reach comes out. First I gotta play Reach, and then seamlessly transition into Halo CE!

in my opinion the thing that made Halo CE so good was the sense of exploration, halo 2 had it as we'll but the funked up the gameplay by confining enemies to a small path, halo 3 fixed gameplay but didn't have the sense of exploration, and using the flood as a plot device got kinda old..... although they say halo reach will bring back the exploration of halo 1, and the gameplay of halo 3, wich will hopefully make it an awsome game, posibly rivaling Halo CE. Forklifts Forever!
