When he finally,after 6 years at "Guantanamo +",he comes home to find that hes wife is in a "wheel chair" because of a auto accident. He stayed with her for two years before he met hes current wife. He still has contact with is ex wife and pays for here health bills.
I couldn't compare this to most divorces either. While Mccain was a POW, his wife was faithful to him, suffered physically, and was there for him when he got out. To bad for her that she had an accident and wasn't up to his shallow standards of physical perfection after her accident. What a dick.

While I agree w/ you, beer, the unfortunate truth is that there are a lot of people who care about this stuff & vote based on it. The message of the Kerry campaign is you must respond to everything, no matter how retarded you think it is. This is a strong ad but I don't think it's a dirty one. It's the right way to respond to this stupid non-issue.
Depressing that a guy who has gone to a christian church for yrs has to prove he's not a muslim, or that he's as moral as a womanizing hypocrite.

I'm still not convinced McCain's racist, redneck supporters would be swayed by an ad like this. A lot of even weak McCain supporters consider him a slimy guy who will at least uphold conservative values policy-wise, and by the way, McCain isn't the anti-Christ. Really... you really think people who are so ignorant as to believe Obama is Muslim and/or the anti-Christ are actually going to be swayed by an ad like this? Are there really people on the fence between the two candidates? I doubt it.

I think there are some people out there that live in so-called "red states" (or states that lean red) who get nothing but constant negative Obama news, especially when it comes to his religion. For those people, I do think it's possible that this type of ad could sway them. As you said, there are some that have a very negative opinion of McCain to begin with. So if the Muslim attack is a major issue for them, then this is the thing to make them stop and think a little bit.
