  • This is like the ultimate 80's cliche presented by Snooki. I adore Visage of course, but slightly trainwrecky.

  • He lives 2 minutes from me, and i see him around every know and then

  • I remember actually buying the Beat Boy album right when it was released in the U.S. I turned on some of my high school friends to it. I prefer the previous albums better, but Beat Boy still has it's moments.

  • Visage being stronger in 1985?

    I think NOT!

  • luftsteg og vindfrikadeller

  • typical - an artist blaming the record company for their records lack of success..

  • @hcvang

    Sorry, that´s bullshit!!

  • @MultiGinger666 Sorry, no it isnt =)

That record was garbage - sorry.

  • He's beautiful.

  • @goombabear Yes, he is. I´ve just met him in person and he is also very nice!

  • @goombabear Yes, he is. I´ve just met him and he is also very nice!

  • I really love this interview. Steve is so cool! But who is that guy interviewing him? A very special artist needs an equivalent interviewer. That guy has no feeling for what Steve has been doing or has been involved in. What a shame!

  • anyone know if steve & record lable ever released anything he's talking about "Beat Boy" bronski beat ? "The Beat Goes On" sonny and cher ..."Have you heard Fade to Grey Chantal ?" yes steve been listening for 25 years brilliant.

  • original pleasure boy!

  • ALPHAVILLE MASTERPIECE!!!!Sorry for some english person don't like this Wonderful German Band!!!Anyway STEVE is Fantastic and Rusty Egan too!!Ultravox is a Great project from ever,With John Foxx(first era) and Midge Ure(after) !

  • it's interesting, Midge Ure claims ownership of Fade to Grey, but without the style&voice of Steve, it would never have gone where it went.

It is too bad though, because the debut Album of Visage is the only really good one - the later ones are nothing in comparison.

The production values went to Ultravox, but Ultravox was in no way as cool as Visage.

  • But whence Steve Strange's style and "voice" without a catchy song such as that to sing?

  • hold it, hold it, hold it there.

To say that U-vox was never as cool as visage makes little sense: Ultravox was a real working band, with an enormous background and very respected; Visage was a project, not a band regardless of what the junkie up here in the video says; without Ure, there would have benn no Fade to Grey; without Fade toGrey, Visage would have never made it out of The Blitz, period.

  • at least some knows whats going on.

U are correct go to the head of the class

  • You've Got it Right :)

    There got it wrong

    They Have a Lot Learn

    (Quote from taboo the musical)

  • @progress2007 You're joking?! Well you're entitled to your own taste and opinion but I think The Anvil is an amazing album, in fact better than the debut, though I still absolutely love the first one. The Damned Don't Cry, Again We Love, Whispers - nothing in comparison?! Oh well, as I said, to each their own. Ultravox and Visage both supercool in my opinion. Sounds like Steve was too much into funky stuff, he should have kept to the euro electro stuff. Nice what he said about Boy George & co.

  • @chrisnoaro1 exactly, i think the anvil is better as well.

  • @progress2007 i tend to dissagre. the debut is a classic on all counts, but the anvil is of equal quality, and doesnt get half the credit it deserves in my oppinion.

  • poor steve!

he can bearly form a sentance properly anymore, cuz of those drugs :(

  • ah the glamour zurich carpark shortly after this visage disappeared into oblivion dispite the strong barnacle line up

  • "We had a lot of management difficulties"!

Is that old slang for doing loads of drugs and writing shit music that no-one wanted to buy?

  • Um, yes...

  • ano this isn't really relative to this vid but...... Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, Visage nd Pet Shop Boys Are the best ever!!!!

  • you forgot Alphaville

  • rrr i forgot lol

  • We're all trying to forget Alphaville!

  • sorry depeche are way bigger. wheres Steve strange now

  • @deancooky probably in rehab. lol.

  • Lovely ol' drug addled Steve, I wouldn't let him touch my Barnet ! I'll have whatever he is on please.

  • Good old Steve..I can't take my eyes off him when he's on celebrity scissorhands..All his little jerky movements(nerve damage caused by heroin & cocaine abuse)along with his quirky mannerisms & spiky humour (& hair!)..Looks pretty good considering. His biography was a good read. I'm very pleased he's one of rock n roll's survivers & still going strong..Stick with it Steve! Good on yer mate!

  • ok .. number one: ''nerve damage caused by heroin & cocaine abuse'' what are you a fucking doctor?! sorry, waitingforriki PHD, maybe you are an expert in the field.. i doubt it with a name like that though.. --[here's where you take the piss out of mine, go for it]--

number two: ''survuver'' ?? i hardly think steve has 'survived', hes pretty much the walking dead.

number three ''rock and roll'' ??!! Visage were (or are) more like sausage fucking roll.

  • He's stoned for sure, but hey, he's still alive today and going strong...

  • whats with the barnacle name? weird. it's funny that he's solo doing a solo project singing solo by himself where his solo singing is done solo by himself...solo and even alone on his solo song where he is solo singing solo all by himself in a solo song.

  • george and adam ripped him off

  • Sadly he was a complete heroin addict a that time

  • Well, he doesn't look nor sound like an addict to me!

  • You're kidding? because of the management problems I've now decided to do a solo project, because of the management problems,I'm working on a solo project, singing solo myself....he's wired for sure...because of the management problems!!!

  • yeah, great, haha ha.i think, also, the other guy is addicted on something.

btw. is steve alive today? do you know?

p.s. the most stupid place for interview.

  • yes, he's alive thankfully...search youtube for 'what happened to the gender benders' it's a 4 or 5 part tv programme..very good and spills all you need to know on the period...Steve is a legend and hopefully he'll enjoy the rest of his life...free!

  • I am glad to hear that.

    Thank you man for this.

    Regarts.

  • "the record company wasn't behind it"- unfortunately an excuse (in this and most cases) for people not being interested anymore. "we want to keep it quiet"- reminds me of spinal tap saying "our appeal has become more selective".COCAINE FUELLED ARROGANCE from a one great pop star.

  • Poor Steve.. if he just stayed off of the junk.. maybe things would have been different..? Its hard though.. It is possible to get off of heroin.. I would know.

  • Steve may have been wasted during this interview but he looked GOOD!!!

I'm a huge Visage fan but I must say that Strange Cruise project sucked big time!

  • He's off his nut!

  • A usually talented man with freat looks...

  • Wow... he's wasted! :-O
