Really? I love David Benoit's Nicky. He's sooooo much better than Christian Anderson, who's the only person I've really hated in that part. But you can't really judge him from this clip. Besides, he does the Ernie laughXD
@FranBMan Ah I hated David Benoit - Loved Christian and Mark Goldthorp. I also really dislike Jason Heymanns Nicky, I got the impression it was his Nicky who was gay, not Rod xD
@BAGibb But didn't you think Christian just played Nicky as an outrageous cartoon character? Nothing he did was rooted in reality. He's supposed to be attractive and likeable, but Christian played him as almost a grotesque - I just found his performance really weird. Whereas as David Benoit played him as the sweet chilled out guy he is. The thing is about this show, is that the puppets provide the cartoon element, so the actor needs to provide the reality.
@FranBMan Ah true, I haven't seen a performance of Christian Anderson, but from what I have seen YouTube I quite liked. Nicky is just a hard character to do really and I think Christian tried to make the role as funny as possible which of course takes away some of the realism. Its quite hard to add any varying degree of emotion if you just try and do the comedy, and vice versa. But I dont think it makes Christian a terrible Nicky.
Jen Barnhart and Ann Sanders are the only reason this doesn't suck.
