  • Did you use the call of duty soundtracks for this? sounds exactly like it!, this short is amazing!

  • This is awsome How did you do the rotted flesh look at 6:17

  • choclate rain

  • Two questions: 1) What was your budget? 2) Are you planning on doing another one?

  • @Megarith1to3 The budget was only around £100, if not less.

I have another zombie script in the pipeline but it would be a massive upscale from deadrain.

  • the moral of the story is,Do not give-up

  • Gotta say the cinematography for this is fantastic lotsa great angles, and your main characters got the look down perfectly...but on a side note is it just me or does he seem to resemble a hint of barney calhoun from the half life series * just a odd observation XD*

  • shit pretty good man.. ive watched most of all zombie shorts on youtube in the past 8 months or so i dont know how this 1 missed this 1 considering its been on youtube 4 a year WELLDONE.. How old are you ? ive noticed most the better short films are generally made by ppl older than teens ^_^ I'm in Australia and im a film student about to embark on my own zombie short film i cant get it out of my head :D

  • that was awesome.....

  • Im makin a zombie film any advice

  • @pokemaster90111 Good make up - avoid cliches and make the film how you want it. Be ambitious but know you bounds and SOUND DESIGN SOUND DESIGN SOUND DESIGN

  • one thing ive gotta say about zombie films on the tube is the abundance of highpowerd weapons people stumble across in homes

  • @CryingEyesOD I think that may have something to do with most the ppl playing L4D before they wrote the zombie story :P

  • Really nice directing style, quick cuts and lovely story telling

  • What camera did you use bro

  • @underworldvisionlbg A Sony Z1 mate.

  • btw what kind of gas mask is that?

  • @VIDGAMECRAZY Just a ex russian one i picked up from a surplus store.

  • @TOMPYKETTFILMS thanks! that's all i wanted to know. keep up the good vids

  • Nice production.

  • thumbs up for dead rain so everyone on youtube can see it!!

  • that was Hollywood material keep it up!

  • Better than half the hollywood movies I've seen

  • nice job but you definitely did not have 8 minutes of content, after about 3 i fast forwarded to the end to get to the action

  • Wow that Was Awesome!

  • this is absolutely amazing. Not just the effects, the acting, but the idea too! I` so sick and tired of the movies where the hero just keeps shooting everyone and passing everyone by like he doesn`t care. This shows, well... a person! YAY! And the infected rain? GREAT idea!

  • That was amazing :D

  • @TOMPYKETTFILMS It's really good though. It inspires me!

  • nice it's like the first episode of a series :D

  • The rain was a bit unrealistic

  • @DanielAlexichDuran Yeah, Sadly looks dated now - This was my first film and my first time using After Affects. Maybe in the future I can revisit it and hopefully pull off something more realistic. Cheers for giving it a watch though.

  • nice work man thumbs up !

how did you do the blood effects?

  • @thbrainstation I composited them in After Effect using what ever stock footage I could find on the Internet. You don't need to use After Effects though use any multilayered editing software and hopefully they have a screen/dodge mode which should allow you blend them into your footage. Check out 12 days of VFXmas video's from freddiew they cover allot of stuff which should help. Thank you as well for giving me a thumbs up.

  • fcking awesome!!!!

  • @DeAntiguanDoll Thanks for watching :)

  • great zombie movie man

  • loved it!!

  • very well done dude, only things i can think of to work on are the gun sounds were a bit weak (sounded like the music was almost drowning them out at times) and the rain (only 1 size of drops, individual drops were too opaque, and the rain didnt tilt with the camera so tracking issues) other than that i liked it. will def be watching your stuff

  • @BrokenBoxProduction Cheers mate. Yeah this was my first legit short film effort and I pretty much had no experience. How i managed to make something good has come out of it is beyond me :) I noticed alot of things wrong with the rain I must be the most unlucky british film maker ever. Shot a film about rain in the middle of winter and it never rained once though in the future i may revisit the edit give it a much stronger sound design and rework some of them effects. Cheers for watching though.

  • Y'know one of my favourite things about this movie, was the survivor. And how he just got on with it. No whining, no "were not gonna make it" it was just him, his mission and a good story!

    Excellently done!

  • @garfusa2 He's a hardcore character. He knows he can survive. I tend to move away from the conventions that everyone is scared and weak. We all know that crazy person what is completely ready for the zombocalypse and 'The runner' is that person. Cheers for watching.

  • Very VERY well done this is the kind of short film that can make these guys famous

  • @brinabooluvsU Thank very much and hope so :)

  • Very very well done, totally drew me in with no real glaring flaws to take me out of the suspense.

  • This was incredible! I can't believe how high quality this is, You deserve allot more views that's for sure!

  • Nice video

  • this is a vary good video

  • 1:41 RUN FOREST RUN!

  • Brilliant.

  • That was awesome... Although I couldn't do anything as good as that I found the rain fx a little bit immersion breaking... maybe some colour correction as well as a new cloudy sky overlay or something could help fix that next time. However as I said... all of it is awesome xD

  • This was amazing! Not a second of boredom.

  • One of the best short films I have seen! :D Good job

  • @MrJocke12 Sweet, Thank you :D

  • You inspried me!

  • @ANavinFlimProduction You saying that inspires me to just make more films.

  • @TOMPYKETTFILMS I haven't finish the sentence......... You inspried me to make this little tiny movie in Lego! (i don't really know if I will do it or not...... But you inspried me)

  • Good work, man. Way better than the stuff Indie Mogul is doing at the moment :) Where was the sound from? I think that first one was from L4D2, but let me know if I'm wrong :)

  • That was epic, defiantly earned a thumbs up from me, I'll shore it as well :)

  • nice film but only 1209 views :( should have been 100.000+ views

  • @MajorZzTube Cheers mate!

  • @MajorZzTube it will b seen more, for i have suggested it to Movie Quest, and they put it on their weekly playlist this week! hooray for publicity! lol

  • @millegas08 Your god damn superstar thanks :)

  • Should have ended with a point of view of a raindrop coming down, and goes to black before you know if it hits him or not.

    Still great job dude

  • Loved it! Subscribed!

  • @EvilMuffin01 Thank you greatly! Remember to get rad!

  • great job man :) recognised a few places in there

  • what did you use equipment wise for camera and editing etc? really good btw, proper impressive x

  • @jjlikesmusic Shot all on a Sony Z1, no depth kit or lens adapters. Final edit was completed in Final Cut Pro with all visual effects being designed in After Effects.

If you want to know anything else drop us a messages.

    Cheers for the support.

  • This is very impressive

  • @WincProductions Thanks for comment! It was a pain to actually get it off the ground but now I have a final product it feels great!
