I just bought their Motown Anthology that just came out that has all four albums and it's wonderful. What a talented family. I really wish them the best. They seem like kind people. On a goofier side note, James is still dreamy.

I pray for the remaining family on drugs. By Jesus' power you all can make it. I'm so saddened by the father. So so saddened. He literally brought demons into that home. Abuse. Emotional. Verbal. Sexual (my God). There were alot of demons he allowed within himself. Then placed them on his children. Bobby's life is so heartbreaking. How can his father live in peace knowing how he has hurt the lives of his children in so much anguish and pain? My God. I don't see how he can live with himself.

EVEN after being famous and loved by so many. ABUSE IS EVIL AND JACKS UP YOUR MIND. BUT ABUSE BY A PARENT MAKES A PERSON MENTALLY DISTURBED.
Wow! To imagine them beyond the impact they already had is...Wow! They had a HUGE impact on my musical history as a child. There was DeBarge and New Edition. Besides Prince and Micheal Jackson, there was no one greater. ALL of their songs put out on radio were CLASSICS. I Like It, All This Love, Time Will Reveal, were like, SO SO SO well loved, just high Quality music. Classics etched in time. Add that to them being BEAUTIFUL AS H*LL! Just GORGEOUS to look at. And you had pure stars.
It always amazes me how the industry never takes any blame for what happens to artists like this. I was there and I know for a fact. that some of their pain came from the disappointment of working, achieving so called success and not seeing the wealth they should. Notice there were no shots of their fabulous homes or cars when they showed their success, only screaming fans. These record companies use the talent then throw them away and continue to make money off their hits after they're gone.
A lot of artists tend to turn to God when their careers suffer. Not so convinced God would get the attention if they were still riding high in the secular world.
@DUGMAC1973 stop being doubtful. Pray for the family. They have been through so much. There is pain in life period. There is suffering in life which is the penalty of sin itself. He truly has the whole world in His hands.Triumph comes from all of the hardship. Lets just support them.

El was released from jail in 09'....he's cleaned up himself and is back with a new CD..."Second Chance"......he performed at the BET awards last year and he killed it!! He still has that voice....
Only babyface would comment on the girl being light skinned. I just wish her and the other generation of Debarges a successful career without the tragedy of the past rearing it's head again. They are without doubt a talented family.

It's a long standing joke between DeBarge and their friends in the industry. They all laugh about it. I've heard it many times.
