  • i first heard this piece in college, and i've loved it since.

  • @renascencewoman Thank you for listening and warm comment! It is one of the my favorite songs of him. I will try to sing it again.

  • Your singing is brilliant! :)

  • @Vlogandotherstuff Thank you so much for the compliment. I am honored.

  • I really like how you "drift" up to those high G's. It really adds to the longing Schumann shows in this song, like that one thing (in this case, the G, for interpretation, his love) is almost unreachable.

    Bravo!

  • @rhapsodies10 Thank you very much for this warm comment!

Yes, it is so difficult for me to reach top of the key.

  • Wow, this is really great! Amazing piano and vocal skill! :)

  • Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave me such a compliment!

    I feel flattered

  • @mozartiikodesu nice place to practice and record :-)

the pianopart is just fine and so is the musical line of your singing; in my opinion you should sing it a tone lower, though, a tiny bit darker (will help you as a bridge to the high notes) and the vowels just a bit longer open "...gestàààààhnden... in stead of "....gestannnnden..." for instance. You'll will see tears in the audience! Try? ;-)

  • @erikcouvret

This might be a silly comment from me.

I agree with Your impression about the pronounciation of vowels and Your judgement about finding the proper tone sounds professional to me.

I just wonder, if struggling to reach the highest tone corresponds well with the lyrics of the composition. As if the Schumann intended to overwhelm the singer by an unusual escalation of gentle sentiment.

Does that make sense ? Its just an idea ...

  • @christophmahler

I am honored to hear such a great comment from a native German like you.

Yes, this key is original D-dur. however, sound is too high for my singing.

It would be better if I singing again by more low note key.

If you don't mind please tell me more about Lieder. Many thanks!

    Tatsu

  • I listen with pleasure ...

    Thank you.

    wirklich gut gemacht

  • Das ursprüngliche Gedicht (ohne Noten^^) ist von Heinrich Heine

  • The high notes are not adequately supported although the voice clearly has the potential of singing this repertory.

  • The attempt to play this in the piano and sing it at the same time is really admirable but the singing is not of the same level as the piano playing.

  • I think you should stick to piano playing....

This is one of my favorite Lieder.

  • very well played! Schumann is one of my favorites...you captured his "innig" or inward/heartfeltness

    great job

  • Thank you so much for the compliment!!

    I like Schuman.

  • I enjoyed your humble interpretation (;

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • Just freaking gorgeous. Beautiful work.

    What a masterpiece.

  • Thank you so much for the compliment!

    Schuman Lieder is so marvelous.

  • One of my all time favorite songs. Very lovely performance:) Thank you!

  • Thank you so much for your kind comment! The song and the lyrics got married.

  • A very special union between 2 great artists, Schumann & Heine! Thank you again for posting this wonderful song -b^^

  • Wow, so lovely! :)

  • Thanks Karen!

  • Exccelent player and Great Voice I love it:-)

  • Thanks Abby

I am a big fan of yours!

  • You should try to learn better breathning to keep your voice in form and linked to your body.

  • Hello mozartiikodesu,

would it maybe possible to play the whole thing also without singing. Please dont misunderstand me, I would like to have a well played version like to sing type of Karaoke. I study music in Potsdam and like this song.

    Thanx,

    Michael

  • This sounds very nice, but the tempo seems a bit fast. The key sounds fine, but remember to approach the high notes from above, rather than reach up to them. Drop the jaw, and be sure to keep the tongue forward on the higher notes. When you do this, the vowel sound will lean towards more of an "uh" sound- but if you do it correctly, people other than you won't be able to tell.

  • VERY well done

  • Schumann has two Ns. William Schuman had one, but Robert has two.

your musicality is wonderful. great job

  • Wow, I just heard this song today and I love it! Very good interpretation, and (though I think you already know this) if you can't reach those high notes, a transposition of just one note lower would let you sing it perfectly. Thanks for sharing this with us!

  • Thanks docarii!

Thank you for your wonderful advice.

If it sings in G major, I could sing the music more easily.

I considered that it was the same as you.

The reason in the original tone is the most beautiful on A major for piano.

I would like to sing in G major next time.

    Many thanks!!

  • great song and performance again!

  • Thanks Soja!

This song is very beautiful, but it needs more

    skill to singing by me.

  • i've just had 2 singinglessons and they are jazz/pop lessons not classical.. but for me it helps a lot to sing like you are bored, keep articulating but put less stress on your throat, just open it and let the sound come out.. i'm sure your singing skills will get there when you practice :-)

  • It´s unbelievable. I simply love your voice and interpretation in all your songs.

  • Thanks prisuffi!

    It's my honor!!

I love Schuman's song so much!!

I will show you another songs of him.

  • thumbs up! really good

  • Thanks friend!

  • Gorgeous....I can dream on...wonderfull

  • Thanks Mary!

It's an excellent piece of music representing Schumann's lyricism.

The tune was too high for me. (#3)

  • you should accompany singers, but don't sing this yourself, please! surely you can hear that yourself?

  • Gorgeous Music! Great interpretation! Why don't you and I also give a recital together in this hall, where you are playing? Dorothea

  • Thank you * * * * *

  • great lied

  • I love this song... I heard it in my music appreciation class, and I love hearing. I like the version I heard in class better though...not saying this one is bad.

  • its ok but I think it could be better with a lower version..

    good luck

  • bueno pianista.......

  • Hello Tatsu! Nice to hear this Lied!! It's one of my favourites!! I love it! Beautiful piano sounds. Little pity, you had no microphon for voice, but even thou I could not hear evrz words, it was very nice!!! :)) Greetings!

  • Hi Karo!

I am glad to be praised by great singer like you.

    All your songs are wonderful.

Schumann's DichterLiebe is my favorite. This one is especially very beautiful.
