Using tweezers, I was able to remove the filling and push the phones successfully in all the way. I don't know but it may be your promblem that I too had.

3.5mm is the diameter of the connection, not the length. The diameter remains the same whether its a standard stereo audio connection or a stereo audio with microphone connection.
I must say that the headphones were one of the things that I really didn't like when I got my iPhone. I hate ear buds, especially the Apple ones that come with it because they are so uncomfortable and hurt my ears. I did however get a converter at Best Buy that I love because it lets me use my Phillips headphones that I actually like. Also, if you like the ear buds but not the ones that come with the phone, I recently found out that the Gummies actually fit so there's another option.

Secondly, if you get headphones with a staight jack (as opposed to right angle ones shown here) then they should fit. I bought some Virgin Megastores Earphones, best £3 I ever spent, I suggest getting those cos they should fit the iPhone.

Word up DrkstHr7. The ones who come with are great, plus the have that little remote the allows you to answer a phone call, pause and skip music without having to take up the iPhone from your pocket.

To use REALLY NICE headphones (I use AKG K240 Monitor headhones) for mixing stuff and its jack does not go in. The headphone problem is NOT APlle's problem. It is the company who made those nice after-market in-the-ear earbuds. They probable came out BEFORE the iPhone did so it is really no one's fault here, sir. Not even yours.

easy fix- mod your headphones... get a exacto knife and cut around the jack 2-3mm of the plastic(depending on type, 2mm for straight, and 3 for 'bent' plugs)

This problem was already solved by Apple. An Apple iPhone TTY adapter has been made so that you do have the cability to plug in your "high-dollar" headphones.

hello the problem is that the ipod head phone dont cover up outside sounds. he bought sound cancelation head phone for he can hear the music better. if i brought a iphone i would want to use my E500 head phones which cost me $499 for the E500. i would want to use my headphones that completly remove outside sounds. thats a huge problem if for people who like to use better headphones.

i like going back to watch these videos. now that all these "problems" are solved. simply buy an extention jack for what 10 bucks? on the site. i have some nice bose headphones that i couldn't use at first, but just spend 5 bucks, and problems solved.

To use REALLY NICE headphones (I use AKG K240 Monitor headhones) for mixing stuff and its jack does not go in. The headphone problem is NOT APlle's problem. It is the company who made those nice after-market in-the-ear earbuds. They probable came out BEFORE the iPhone did so it is really no one's fault here, sir. Not even yours.

i have also ecountered this problem...
easy fix- mod your headphones... get a exacto knife and cut around the jack 2-3mm of the plastic(depending on type, 2mm for straight, and 3 for 'bent' plugs)
i know... i too think it is rediculos that we must mod our own headphones to work... but steve jobs is an evil dictator... watcha gunna do... you know, other than buy another phone

first of all your expensive headphones dont have a mic on them do they so you cant answer a call where the ihpones buds you can that is why its resest so you use there headphones and u dont miss calls. Though they made an adapter to solve your problem so enjoy not asnwering ur calls now with ur old headphones.

hello the problem is that the ipod head phone dont cover up outside sounds. he bought sound cancelation head phone for he can hear the music better. if i brought a iphone i would want to use my E500 head phones which cost me $499 for the E500. i would want to use my headphones that completly remove outside sounds. thats a huge problem if for people who like to use better headphones.
