  • 0:16 - Sounds like De Niro.

  • What ive done in the past.. ive been in dat circle... when i watched this movie i cried and rememberd what ive done. ty for posting this <3 ;(

  • why is this scene so speacial? anyone?

  • @TheSnowMan717 The only value this video holds is purely sentimental.

Maybe some can relate to the battle with addiction. Others like the soft religious dialogue. Even more can simply relate to the struggle of life, and the appreciation they have for the one person they love the most, who's saved them and become their "eskimo" - that's why it's special to me.

If it means something to you, I'm glad I've given you something of value.

If not, thanks for watching anyways.

  • Two things I love about this scene have to do with the superior editing.

    1. as Doug is walking to the meeting, we see him pass his temptation in the form of a drug dealer standing on the steps of the project. they clearly know each other from times past.

    2. after the meeting scene, we go directly to Doug watching Claire come out of her building. She is HIS eskimo but he doesn't know it at that point,

  • Wow sorry but this is a dumb excuse, did the guy ever think that Maybe God sent him that Eskimo? Seriously how irrational, if you have ever studied the Bible God used other people to carry out His will all the time in Old and New Testament. Their is more proof for the infallibility of The Word of God, and the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ than their is evidence that George Washington was President. People are too gullible and lazy to study and look for themselves.

  • @godssentluvangel You are clearly too gullible and ignorant to think for yourself. Rather than simply repeating what some fundamentalist Christian told you without even consulting "the books" (including the dictionary), you should do some research, open up your mind and start using the brain that was developed for humans through evolution.

  • @godssentluvangel 4. There is absolutely no scientific evidence proving even the EXISTENCE of Jesus Christ, let alone his supposed "resurrection" or other superhuman abilities (eg. walking on water) - and there is definitely no scientific evidence proving the existence of any "god". On the other hand, we DO have all the evidence needed to support claims that George Washington existed, and that he was the president of the United States.

  • @godssentluvangel Perhaps you should consult a dictionary - you clearly have no idea what the words "irrational", "infallible" and "gullible" mean.

    1. Please learn how to use English grammar properly before you get into a philosophical debate about religion with anyone.

    2. The belief in any "god" is in no way a rational belief.

    3. You cannot use the Bible as proof to back up your own beliefs. That's the equivalent of me using the Lord of the Rings to prove the existence of Hobbits.

  • @godssentluvangel People are also too lazy to study grammar. (their vs. there) ;P

  • @godssentluvangel

so basically all you have is a theory that the eskimo was god.

  • @godssentluvangel god is not real he was man made by people that were bored and crazy...look at all the people after jesus..whom claim to be god/christ...and are no more than cults..what makes them so different??? than the magical lies of jesus???? only death is real fear cancer! not satan not god!

  • This is one of the most sobering scenes of all time

  • can relate to any aspect of life

  • You honestly can't really know what that is like until you're actually there. I thank god for AA. The people there are honest at least. In this world, I'll take the honest sinners than over the lying saints.

  • @soprisrb I know exactly what you mean, i've been there, im sober 6 years now, it's not easy, but when you have good supportive people around you, like your friends & the AA it's a massive help!

The Town is an excellent movie & this very scene is very powerful!!!!

    Slan

  • Eskimo speech starts at 0:40 But the whole thing is beautiful.

  • @AntiRedSon The video starts before the actual speech because I wanted to keep the context behind it, for viewers who might not have seen the movie or don't remember this scene. Thanks for watching.

  • GOOD MOVIE...

  • best scene in a movie ever. thanks for posting this

  • @PapaKen321 No problem, it was one of my favorites and I wanted to share it.

  • Your description is beautiful.

    I'm in love with you.
