This excellent performance by Birgit Nordin comes from the 1976 movie adaptation of "Magic Flute" by Igmar Bergman. Although the entire opera is performed in Swedish (instead of the original Deutsch), the director of the movie was successful in preserving most details of Mozart's original stage production.
I am not aware if this is available for download, but the 1976 movie is widely available from outlets such as Amazon.
I love Pamina's facial expressions during the Queen's laughter. And the high notes, while not exactly perfect in tone, have a certain subdued, cold manner. She makes it work!
This movie performance is too static. There are allmost no acting at all,... to little expresion,.. "Der Holle Rache" looks as she is thinking about something else, as she isn't present there,... and there are too many foreground scenes,...
Birgit Nordin's powerfully expressive voice and Bergman's inspired direction (for TV not cinema screen) result in a really chilling Queen of the Night.
That would go so some why to explaining why it is almost all close-ups of faces (with only one longer shot in this whole sequence, for example), quite the opposite of what one thinks of as "operatic" (or what I normally do, at least). That is, unless Bergman's films for cinema are done like this as well?
REALLY BAD!

This woman is just not a good queen of the night. I mean, props for trying. But no ma'am. Try Diana Damrau. She is MUCH better! Amazing, actually.

the acting performance Bergman got out of her, however, is without parallel

Ingmar Bergman himself said that he was looking for actors for this movie, that looked good on screen, rather than professional singers.

atrocious when compared to branagh's latest.

well, that's a film from the 70s...

Branagh has certainly provided us with a beautiful and entertaining picture book, if that is what you like. I prefer Mozart and Schikaneder.

this was good, but the queen didn't put enough expression into her face, and her high notes were not very ringy.
