  • genius!

  • Dankje wel goudvinger voor het uploaden van al de elo muziek.

  • I will always love E.L.O i youst to listen then i was a teenager.

  • WOW ELO, grew up with it and still love it. Crazy how classic their music has become. Rock on ELO!!!!!!

  • Dankjewel Goudvinger !

Als kind was ik gefascineerd door deze plaat, en speciaal deze intro. Onvergetelijke muziek.

  • LOL, TIGHTOPE

  • have to concur, this might be the best song jeff lynne wrote on the best album he recorded. it sure stands the test of time.

  • the beginning is such a spooky greatness that is so unforgettable. WOW i spelled unforgettable and there was no squiggly red line under it (spelled it right) ;D

  • @drumforlife720 As long as you love ELO, you can mis-spell! LOL :)

  • i bought this record for $1.50 a week ago and so far ive listened to it 68 times and the songs are not old to me i love elo i first got interested in elo on July 9th when they opened for Kiss in Newfoundland since then i have loved them i had front row...glen burtnik was playing with them and gave me a high five and i lost my mind :P im only 14 but i dont care what my friends say...im gonna blast ELO anyway

  • how soothing are the strings in this song - amazing. 'A New World Record' is simply a masterpiece.

  • Check out my novel based on this ELO album: The Mission of the Sacred Heart

  • it's passed..bouring i think

  • Hey dude, love your ELO uploads. But can I make a suggestion? You should try to do it higher quality. 240p is too low for the greatest band ever.

  • @SporeKore You have a point but if the uploads had HQ sound I'm betting some DRM dweeboid would try to have 'em removed. Let's just appreciate that these great songs are even here.

    Another good upload, goudvinger. Thanks.

  • @Breyers2TheXtreme

Now that you mention I must agree. Congratulations! :)

  • full bodied sound

  • Fonky Family - Dans la légende and Army of the pharaos - Battle Cry

  • @Alinovitch3 et Sinik - Réglement extérieur

  • I like pie.

  • Army of the pharaohs - Battle cry

  • @Blaow3000

    yeah Baby.

  • i love this song

  • sounded really cool when i was a kid and still sounds cool to this day!

  • co za asy

  • i listened to this song as a kid and still listen to it now, it never gets old!

  • What is the extent of the connection (if any) between this song, Janelle Monáe's Tightrope (The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III), 2010) and Rip Rig + Panic's Do the Tightrope (Attitude, 1983)?

  • that one loner on the dislike button.... stupid 7 year old justin beiber fan...

  • This intro has been sampled by hip hop artists from New York to Germany to Croatia and it's still one of the best original songs ever!!

  • 3:06 best

  • WONDERFUL!!!

  • This was the 1st Elo song I ever heard & have been hooked ever since. I was 12 and had never heard anything like it. IF you are very lucky in life, a band or singer will come along which makes you think: "If I had the talent and ability, that's what I'd write": ELO is my example of this, and even at the age of 47 that has not changed. I am a taxi-driver, and I play it frequently as background music in the cab. People of ALL ages ask me turn it up. 'Nuff said.

    Cheers,

    Hugh

  • @Hughjarse63 You said it my friend. Jeff is the man and should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!

  • @Hughjarse63 My first ELO song what i heard was So Serious :)

  • And you... you're just rude.

  • @Ssongg Your mum just told me you ate your bogeys when you were a child, a habit you keep up to this day

  • This song reaches kind of Nirvana just at the end.

  • This is THE best song ELO ever did...

  • This is THE best song ELO ever did...

  • @pinkandjefflynne. A little bit extreme but I get your point. Some dickheads just have to do stuff like this and be idiots. Who couldnt like this?!

  • i seen them live in 1978 toronto stadium, i dont remeber it, i got fucked up before the show bt i do remember i think they opened the concert with this song, it was fuckin awesome.

  • awesome!!

  • Dans la légende.

  • first video ive seen with no dislikes.

  • @matthewjwhite1234 Had to tempt fate, didn't you! Now some cunt has disliked this clasic. I hope he (and others who tick dislike) catches his cock in his zip and then catches a rather nasty infection rendering his fuck stick useless

  • @pinkandjefflynne Don't let the idiots get to you. They are all over the Internet. This *is* one of the best songs ELO has done. The memories this song invokes...

  • @pinkandjefflynne Wow. Why do you say those things?

  • @Ssongg 'Cause Jeff Lynne is of god-like status to us mortals.

  • I cant believe it! No dislikes!

  • king gordy - intro (feat adolf hitler) listen now

  • ELO are a class act.I have enjoyed them since'76 and cannot fail to be impressed by the way they have stood the test of time. Jeff Lynne was producing songs at a prolific rate and had to stop himself from burning out.A World Record was superb but for me Out Of The Blue is the classic album,it just runs perfectly.Jeff Lynne is a true genius and he still wants to do more.I wish they had done a farewell tour but it was not to be,Jeff Lynne is and will always be a legend!

  • I listened to this with my dad when I was little.. he had the album on vinyl. This started my love for music - fck genres and musical categories, this is just amazing

  • E L O....the masters of musical art.

  • the intro is stunning, but the rest of the song is just woeful i'm afraid

  • lyrics are phenomenal!!!!!

  • @puppet6475II not thier best but very good

  • Jeff Lynn, The Sixth Beatle!

    He is amazing.

  • Over 30 years later, that intro still kills me!!

  • i love listening to ELO when i skateboard

  • Musical geniality!

The way classical instruments are brought together with modern instruments are

    just musical geniousity.

You can dream yourself away in this music.

    It is so grand.

Jeff Lynne is our times Mozart.

  • I'd forgotten the name of this classic. So, i trawled through ELO Discography, and did a process of elo-mination :p and WHAT a joy to hear this agian. Jeff Lynne, you're a genius.

  • Just so you know! Your titile says tightope you forgot the R. Not being a critic. Just saying.

  • You make me sad.

  • Battle Cry........ Army Of The Pharaohs

  • Killer intro! And a great song.

Hadn't heard it for years and years, had it on tape years ago.

    :o)# Regards,

    Marc

  • I always thought this would be a great concert opening song. The beginning of the song with the lights out and a spaceship coming down. Then the lights shine on Richard Tandy playing the keyboard, then all lights on the whole band when everyone kicks in. I was 7 when this came out in '76. I begged my parents to let me go to the concert with em and they said no. I guess they didnt want me around all the dope smoking idiots-haha.

  • ILLLLLL BAND

  • It sounds like an At the Gates song.

  • They were one of my ALL-TIME favorites. Tightrope ROCKS!

  • i wish they still were around im 13 i love there music

  • ELO-they were one of the first big stadium rockers who were big on special effects long before Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd U2 & co......

  • Man what a tour this was.Its one of those nights i would like to travel back to in time just to experience that again. The whole band were just on fire that night at the Spectrum in South Philly. Perfect singing, harmonies and crisp, clear sound. One of the best concerts ever.

  • This is - I think - the best song from the best album ever made!!! The intro is fantastic, I will never ever get tired of listening to this!!!

  • couldnt have said it better myself haha

  • That sums this album up PERFECTLY!

  • Thanks, yepp, I believe it does!

  • that makes you awesome.

  • Wish I could see this in HQ! Just kidding. Thanks for all the ELO. I forgot how much I loved their music back in the day.

  • thier best album by a streak

  • Modern songs typically have 3 chords. Rap has none. Hip hop might have one or two thrown in. Needless to say, a lot of the common "music" out there has devolved a LOT in the last decade. The wonders of the public school system...

  • elo rocks!

  • That is an understatement!!!

  • Love the back up harmonies

  • The low voice reminds me of the one from Eldoradooverture an Fire on high

  • yeah without this there is no good hip hop ! listen to JEDI MIND TRICKS

  • And is there anyone decent who says hip hop is good?

Anyway, the song is great and the album is a Record in Prog..
