the beginning is such a spooky greatness that is so unforgettable. WOW i spelled unforgettable and there was no squiggly red line under it (spelled it right) ;D
i bought this record for $1.50 a week ago and so far ive listened to it 68 times and the songs are not old to me i love elo i first got interested in elo on July 9th when they opened for Kiss in Newfoundland since then i have loved them i had front row...glen burtnik was playing with them and gave me a high five and i lost my mind :P im only 14 but i dont care what my friends say...im gonna blast ELO anyway
@SporeKore You have a point but if the uploads had HQ sound I'm betting some DRM dweeboid would try to have 'em removed. Let's just appreciate that these great songs are even here.
What is the extent of the connection (if any) between this song, Janelle Monáe's Tightrope (The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III), 2010) and Rip Rig + Panic's Do the Tightrope (Attitude, 1983)?

This was the 1st Elo song I ever heard & have been hooked ever since. I was 12 and had never heard anything like it. IF you are very lucky in life, a band or singer will come along which makes you think: "If I had the talent and ability, that's what I'd write": ELO is my example of this, and even at the age of 47 that has not changed. I am a taxi-driver, and I play it frequently as background music in the cab. People of ALL ages ask me turn it up. 'Nuff said.
i seen them live in 1978 toronto stadium, i dont remeber it, i got fucked up before the show bt i do remember i think they opened the concert with this song, it was fuckin awesome.
@matthewjwhite1234 Had to tempt fate, didn't you! Now some cunt has disliked this clasic. I hope he (and others who tick dislike) catches his cock in his zip and then catches a rather nasty infection rendering his fuck stick useless
@pinkandjefflynne Don't let the idiots get to you. They are all over the Internet. This *is* one of the best songs ELO has done. The memories this song invokes...
ELO are a class act.I have enjoyed them since'76 and cannot fail to be impressed by the way they have stood the test of time. Jeff Lynne was producing songs at a prolific rate and had to stop himself from burning out.A World Record was superb but for me Out Of The Blue is the classic album,it just runs perfectly.Jeff Lynne is a true genius and he still wants to do more.I wish they had done a farewell tour but it was not to be,Jeff Lynne is and will always be a legend!
I listened to this with my dad when I was little.. he had the album on vinyl. This started my love for music - fck genres and musical categories, this is just amazing
I'd forgotten the name of this classic. So, i trawled through ELO Discography, and did a process of elo-mination :p and WHAT a joy to hear this agian. Jeff Lynne, you're a genius.
I always thought this would be a great concert opening song. The beginning of the song with the lights out and a spaceship coming down. Then the lights shine on Richard Tandy playing the keyboard, then all lights on the whole band when everyone kicks in. I was 7 when this came out in '76. I begged my parents to let me go to the concert with em and they said no. I guess they didnt want me around all the dope smoking idiots-haha.
Man what a tour this was.Its one of those nights i would like to travel back to in time just to experience that again. The whole band were just on fire that night at the Spectrum in South Philly. Perfect singing, harmonies and crisp, clear sound. One of the best concerts ever.
Modern songs typically have 3 chords. Rap has none. Hip hop might have one or two thrown in. Needless to say, a lot of the common "music" out there has devolved a LOT in the last decade. The wonders of the public school system...
does anybody know where i can get the piano music for this song???

Hey dude, love your ELO uploads. But can I make a suggestion? You should try to do it higher quality. 240p is too low for the greatest band ever.
