While playing Dead Space, you need to follow these simple rules to survive.

.1 If you see a corpse, Zombie-monster-demon or not, stomp on its body 10 times before you confirm its dead.

.2 If you open a door, make sure you have you weapon ready and fully loaded.

.3 Be ready for anything, any fucked up thing that has 6 arms, any zombie-demon thing that can kill you instantly, any spider thing that just fell from the ceiling, anything.

.4 and most importantly, shoot the limbs!

I'd recommend it, if you played Doom 3, Resident Evil 4, and System Shock 2 a ton, you might have too familiar of a feeling, but I was a big RE4 fan and Doom 3 fan and I like it quite a bit.

Quite a treat graphically if you have a good system for the PC.

Biggest thing is to always been prepared for anything, get full health and ammo and have some on you and in the safe at all times.

shooting the enemies limbs off causes a lot of damage. say one of the creatures runs up to you, just slice off the legs to slow it down, then slice off an arm to finish it off, lol. and it only takes one bullet to kill some enemies so its realistic in that aspect, tell the truth, probably one of the most realistic (and gory) games out there

Get it on console, where you can DL additional weapon and costume skins. The game is medium in length, I knew someone who beat it in 6 hours but it took someone else 14, and they were of equal skill. Then you can go back through with all your upgrades, or start over on higher difficulty. Add to that the fact that the game is like BioShock in that there is alot to explore, sometimes you might miss one thing on one gameplay, but find it on another. Rent before buying to decide.
