I like it EXCEPT THE LONG AND BORING COMMENTARY at the beginning and at the end; these two persons like to listen to themselves speak (and I really don't).
Omega125th, thank you for posting. I heard the St. Paul Sunday Morning program when it originally aired, even made a cassette of it, but it was incomplete. I wrote to them years later asking if I could get a copy of that program, but they said that was impossible due to the rights of the performers. Do you have the entire program?
my local broadcast of the program was wned-buffalo....they aired this particular show twice.
this was the second of two shows NSS did w St Paul Sunday Morning about 1.5 years apart in the early 80s (and what great shows! many listeners wrote in to give their complements)
i have snippets of both shows of which you can view/listen in my upload section
am slowly sharing my collection of NSS performances on YouTube

The host sounds like Bill McGlaughlin. The guy who hosts the exploring music radio show.

A super piece. 'Harmonious Blacksmith' prompted Herbert Pocket to bestow the familiar name of Handel on Pip.

Like the "old" Swingle Singers, these one is exceptional.
I am amazed about what they are able to do with their voices, quite with the same colors of the instruments.
Try to listen the old recording. Fantastic too.

Nice! Just wondering did the Swingle Singers do Bach's Kunst der Fuge?
IpsaPaphum 3 years ago
They've done a few of the contrapunctum. I don't think they've done the whole work.

Since I have played this piece seem that they have performed the entire work (all the variations).
It is very difficult for the voices...

One of my favourite classical music piece, and it's quite nice with the swingle singers

The host indeed sounds like Bill McGlaughlin, but his voice seems a little higher than normal.
