most of, if not all, of the christian/catholic religous system was modeled after the same concepts and ideas of paganism.....does christmas and easter ring a bell???? yeah, pagan ideas, stolen and renamed by christians and are given all the credit, pfft! @acjpb With all respect, historically the Catholic Church was modeled after the Goddess traditions that have been around for thousands of years. They literally superimposed the religion to match the old religion in order to convert the masses to the new religion. And I personally revere the image of Mary as I would any other Mother Goddess image. (As an archetype.)
