Oh My God What a fantastic discovery here on youtube!!!! This so reminds me of our good old parties back in the mid late 70´s (down here in São Paulo, Brazil) at the prime of disco music! Each song was a work of art, and this one, on the tops! I remember they used to play it on tv as background for surf scenes too..
Shellybellysf. Love this!! I remember being in ft lauderdale on vacation at this gay club called the poopdeck! When the dj put in on it cleared the floor..couldnt believe it!! I could tell it was from
T.S.O.N.Y. The Sound Of New York ! ! ! Viva Crown Heights Affair y Viva the 70's ! ! !
Thanx Bhamdave52 for posting both versions. This is one of the greatest Dico songs ever. This song is pure Dico 70's. I was a young soldier when Dreaming A Dream was released & far from home. This always takes me back whenever I hear it. Sadly we lost the Great Sax man Bert Reid on12/12/2004 to lung cancer. This was a magical time when music ruled the airwaves. R.I.P. Bert Reid & Frankie Crocker.
bkadst I was right there with you. Doing the hustle and enjoying everyday as if it was the last. The music was slamming and the people were great! Knickerbocker Park, Bushwick Park and Linden Park wow what memories.
@2009Denisem Sweety,by posting on here, whether music,or comments,we are making it count. Peace to you too ! I just wonder what happened to all our friends from those days. Thank God you and I are still here and somehow giving remembrance to them & the good times we shared....And yes, i do remember the lights and playing scullies, cocoleo 1 2 3 and kings on the stoops. Hey,i still play handball at the age of 50..,im a baby boomer, what could i say?! And loving it !You take care now,precious..,
I love this jam so much. You could hustle to it or breakdance. I especially like that it is both the vocal and instrumental version, kinda nicely mixed. My favorite part is the vocal, where they sing,"I had a dream,a dream of you and meeeeeeeee..,ahhhh,go head baby!!!
@2009Denisem I hear you ,baby ! I remember the block parties, where no one complained about the music they were hearing real loud, and the hooky sets our parents used to come get us from, then stay themselves? Lol..,Daggg,mama ruined everything ! But i thank her in a way,or else i wouldve been barefoot, pregnant & uneducated ;) God Bless Carroll Pk,The "Salsa" Discotech,The "Delavan",The "Red Plum","Orange Peel" & the 70's era period ! Just give me one more day to go back and i'll make it count.
We loved this song in Queens too! Did we hear it non stop for like 2 years??? I can remember the DJ announcing that it was the Number One song! Wow! Memories Macnish Avenue in Elmhurst, New York. This song was everywhere.
This absolutely IS a fantastic song, one of the nearly-lost disco greats. About time YouTubers started getting on the case of the Crown Heights Affair! The combination of these two versions is so good I can't stand it. Thank you!!
If you are intrested in downloading these songs onto your Ipod or Iphone. Download youtubeclipextractor it only $19.95 (no tax) and you will be able to download videos or if you prefer you can download this song as mp3 music only. It's really cool I think you would enjoy it
Hey Guys: Welcome back to Brooklyn . I was there @ Knickerbocker Park on the Irving Ave. side. We use to hang out there while the D- Jays were Jammin this.OH those memories!! That was the best times of my life The 70s We use to hang out all night long till the sun come up. I use to live @ 205 Irving Ave near and Himrod St
@bkadst OMG! me too! When we use to hear there was going to be someone playing in the park, we used to run. Those were the best days doing the hustle and just being kids.
Just got a flashback of being in the Bushwick parks on a Saturday when the DJ would blast 'Rock Creek Park' or 'It's Just Begun.' Miss those days alot.
Yeah, the parks in Brooklyn used to pump those jams, sometimes with 2-3 different DJ's playing in different areas of the park. I lived in Bushwick Brooklyn from 1969-1985, Knickerbocker Park and Linden Park would be packed with people dancing the hustle on Saturdays.....Those were the days home-boy!!!
this is a song ive been searching for a long time.the instrumental is available everywere but not the vocals.thank you sooooo much im sooo happy to hear this ,brings back so many memories of prospect park..n bklyn

Since I've discovered YouTube, I've been able to 'go back to Brooklyn' whenever to
maintain sanity! This is one of the many
all-time 'park jams' you would hear. I can
also remember hearing this and many
other hits on WWRL AM 1600 with HANK
SPANN! "Glad to have YOU there, for the affair!"
