Most of these shows vanished into thin air before they really got a chance because I never heard of most of them like The Fitzpatrick's and Logan's Run(TV series).
"WONDER WOMAN" moved to CBS in the fall of '77 [Fridays, 8pm(et)] as "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN", with the time frame moved from 1942 to "the present", and a sexier, "updated" costume for Lynda Carter (courtesy of designer Donfeld); what you see here is actually the opening title [and VERY fleeting pilot scenes] from the ABC version, as no new footage was ready at the time this was assembled. Same with "THE TONY RANDALL SHOW".
@fromthesidelines I wondered as a kid why they called it "new adventures" when the show wasn't even on the air all that long but then after reading more and investigating,I realized they moved networks and set it in the then-modern day.I don't know why they didn't set it there when it was on ABC.
Dick Tufeld is the announcer for this presentation.
"THE BETTY WHITE SHOW" [Mondays, 9pm(et)] was a disaster; MTM tried to create "new" characters based on those that Betty and Georgia Engel had portrayed on Mary's show, but it just didn't work. I'll never forget the last episode in January 1978: "Joyce's" series, 'Undercover Woman', is saved from cancellation, because, according to 'John', "one of the chimps died" {meaning her potential replacement collapsed}.
Can tell Wonder Woman was already an established hit...and they were still using the credits from the 40s season 1 from ABC...interesting! It looks so out of place in this
Two things that are great in Saturday morning in 1977: 1) Bugs Bunny and The Road Runner returns for another fun-filled season of classic laffs and 2) Mr. Magoo returns to regular television since 1964.
Good Grief CBS.....some of these shows look just terrible. But I did love Logan's Run and could stare at Wonder Woman all day.

What do you want to bet if The Betty White Show came on today it would be a hit?
KStarCLG 1 year ago
@KStarCLG Of course,it would! There's this unexplained sudden interest again in Betty White after her long and stellar career.

It was around this period that ABC became the No. 1 most-watched television network. First time in its history.

I remember watching the Tony Randall show...he played a judge, and Alice Ann McLerie was his secretary, I believe. Very funny show.

CBS's slogan 4 its 1977-78 season was "There's Something in the Air".
"The 32 Days of Fabulous February!"-a slogan CBS used during da 1978 sweeps. BTW; I didn't exist 'til 1988, 10-11 years after that season.

The most significant thing about the '77-'78 CBS season to me was the departure
of "All In The Family" and "The Carol Burnett Show" from Saturday nights.
It was the end of an era, indeed.

I loved the clip for Rhoda..I would have flipped for it back in 77. There was no Joe and she was just newly divorced.

Lou Grant had a pretty good run...Wonder Woman kicked ass (Lynda Carter = MILF)...some of those others were ho-hum.

All of those shows sucked hard, except for Wonder Woman.
Logan's Run is the worst of them all. "We're looking for a place called sanctuary" ...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!

..except for Wonder Woman and Lou Grant!

Yeah, you're right about Lou Grant. I completely forgot to add him to my comment.
Y2p731 3 years ago
@Y2p731 It seems there's always a few new shows that are not destined to make it through the fall season every year.let alone the whole season.

"The Tony Randall Show" deserved better than it got, it was a very funny show. WPIX in New York reran it for a bit in the early 90s.
