  • I went on honeymoon to Breezes July/August 2011 - if you havent been here, you need to, as soon as possible. It is amazing - Cuba is completely free of all western consumerism - no McDonalds, no high street stores or designer brands, it is literally like sepping back in time to a more simple time. Breezes is quiet, never too busy, no yobs, no drunks, gorgeous beaches, the food is plentiful and tasty - if a little basic, but remember this IS Cuba, very safe, very friendly. DO IT NOW!!!!

  • Thanks for the HD post!

We are going next week and are very excited!

Did you make it to Havana?

    Merci Beaucoup

  • @tbird7542 Yes and it is a must see. You will be offered 1 of 2 excursions : 1 full day without the evening show and 1 full day minus the evening show. You will be offered a memorable dinner in a gorgeous place. We loved that excusion and you will find a video of it on this site. Greetings

  • It's a 30 minute ride approximately. Taxi are cheap there!

  • Is this hotel near varadero.?

  • Hi. It takes about 30 minutes by taxi to reach Varadero from Jibacoa. The road is beautiful and you go across the tallest bridge in Cuba from which you must take some pictures. The biggest city between Jibacoa and Varadero is Matanza worth visiting. Havana is about 20 minutes from Jibacoa.

  • @Schutz111

Thats not to bad at all. The travel agent told me that this hotel is across from the golf course??

  • @tickles888 Breezes Jibacoa is about 70km from Varadero, which is about a 45 minute to an hour taxi ride, which will cost approximately 90CUC return.

Havana is about 60km to the west, so it takes about an hour to Old Havana by taxi, again about 90CUC for a taxi for 6 hours. Not bad if you split with another couple, it gives you about 4 hours in the city to explore, which is not nearly enough!

  • If the cats are starving thats a good sign. They are there to manage the rodent population. I loved it there :)

  • You may be happy with your cocktail and your toes in the sun but to see small cats without water to drink is a think I cannot whistand. During my week there I saw clients caring for the cats. If on your side you are happy with that, I have a very bad opinion about you and I am not alone.

  • I agree that there should be water to drink. I do not agree with malnourishing animals. That was not the intention of my comment. I was simply making the statement in support of the resorts cleanliness. This is a good thing in regards to that - ONLY. Does not mean I agree with the practice,

  • However, everything is less than perfect. Starving cats & kittens even not having water to drink, beach not cleaned everyday so buchs of cigarets everywhere! I don't agree for the 4* ther have; it is a 3* to me.

  • That's for sure. Food is excellent particularly at the italian restaurant. Snorkling is great also without having to go on boat.
