  • I would have lost all of my shits at this show.

  • great band....sorely missed.

  • Timmy was playing guitar that night??? Strange.

  • SO damn sorry about Tim! Still listen to Brainiac most every day. MFers are SO bad ass... intivative!

  • I was at this show (and several other Brainiac gigs) when I lived in Dayton from 95-98. Their live shows were always fabulous while their albums were pretty much dreadful. If I remember correctly, I saw them with Posterchildren, Tammy and the Amps, and Guided By Voices at various times. I don't think the audiences moved much at any of their shows. You couldn't dance to it and the crowd, which was usually there to see a different band, was not the slam-dancing type. RIP Timmy Taylor.

  • yea i dont get why the ppl arnt jumping around they suck/? fuck i wish i was there

  • @VeroNevermind1990 Cause Dayton SUCKS BAD !!

  • I will have six unseen Brainiac shows uploaded to my channel on Monday.

  • I remember when I lived in Atanta I was selling a bass rig and some guy called me up trying to get me to play bass with his band. He said he moved to Hotlanta with a couple other guys from Dayton, Ohio. I asked him about Brainiac and he said they were not familiar with them. I told him he was clueless and hung up on him. I guess that was kind of snotty but I loved Brainiac so much I could'nt fathom musicians from the same town not having heard of them.

  • I've posted pretty much every song from Bonsai Superstar and Hissing Prigs on here. Check 'em out before they're gone, which I have a feeling will happen sometime soon.

  • everyone is dead still in the audience.. how is this possible?

  • their drummer's drum kit is so small

  • so's your cock

  • @sitstandnow

no it's just the right size

  • "16 sergeants stacked like matchsticks, mercy for me...knock the first one down and they all fall over!"

  • bonsaiisuperstar, thanks for your response. i ordered the right spin.

i remember there was an interview w/ tim about a week before he died where he told his guitar tuning

& what the new album would sound like.

it was 4 a uk publication & would of been when they were on tour over there. if anybody has this,

    PLEASE CONTACT ME.

I love this band more than words could ever do justice.

  • Dont remember the name of that one. Tuning is E, A, D, B flat, B, E. The B flat gives it the "retardo" sound.

  • no. that wasn't the tuning tim gave in the interview.

please, if anybody knows that interview, which i guess is no longer on the net... please post.

  • I'm a huge Brainiac fan.

Does anybody know what 1996 issue of Spin the band is featured in a Fashion Section? As well as any other cool magazine articles.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  • Not sure of the month. Cover has the Smashing Pumpkins looking all alien like. Has pics from SXSW.

  • Thanks! Yeah, I ordered it off eBay.

  • this band was before my time. is there enough live footage to compile a dvd release? should we all pressure touch and go? or whoever?

  • +1...................

  • the singer for this band was a good freind of mine, unfortunately he passed away in a car acident some years back.R.I.P Tim Taylor!

  • I'm sorry to hear that :(

  • Really? You knew him?

Lucky you, you knew a genious, man.

    R.I.P. Timmy!

  • @hdctdc ONLY THE GOODS DIE YOUNG !!! (anyway he's still alive with his music... R.I.P. Tim)

  • Singer and drummer are great. Very interesting band.

  • Brainiac is one of my favorite bands. I would fucking love to see more live vids of Tim Taylor & Brainiac uploaded.

  • You have to check the Blood Brothers, totally influented by Brainiac, and the drummer is amazing too...

  • i cant get enough of that drummer.

    fucking awesome

  • What a band!!!!! Brainiac vi amerò sempre!!!!!

  • Aahh, now I feel much better.

  • It's like an electro-shock...

  • I know exactly where Tyler Trent is. He has sat in the cubical right next to me in our office for the last 3 years here in Dayton Ohio.

  • no waaay, does he ever tell you bout brainiac?

  • Such a shame the sound is not so good.Brainiac rocks

  • The Mars Volta said that Brainiac was one of their biggest influences

  • who cares? what about the lyrics? i've been trying to get the lyrics for almost 8 years :(

  • @gordystruck Cedric said that... and not his biggest influence...

  • c'mon, can ANYONE get the lyrics?

  • I got your lyrics right here!

    "none of your business"

  • ya, they were really innovative. All my friends listen to screamo hardcore... theres no appreciation or even recognition for the bands that started it all like joy division, at the drive in, minor threat, BRANIAC... haha good stuff though

  • Man, that audience is a bit stiff! I think the lack of crowd appreciation speaks volumes. Brainiac were unknown to the majority and loved by a small few in their prime. I still play the shit out of Bonsai Superstar and Hissing Prigs... Let's hope that the kids of tomorrow recognize Brainiac's genius.

  • I am the kids of tomorrow, and I sure as hell do.

  • Where the hell is Tyler Trent? The man is a beast of a drummer.

  • ohio in the early-mid nineties! saw these dudes at The Union in athens. i remember being shocked at how good they were. at that time (i was barely 21) all music seemed fresh and i was discovering new stuff daily. in retrospect i'm shocked at how original and completely ahead of their time brainiac was.

  • oct 30 1994, I was there too. The debut of Bonsaiisuperstar.

  • I saw these guys live in Dayton in 95. I don't think these videos do there sound justice. They were awesomeSexual Frustration killed, but the toughest punk sound in Dayton in the mid 90's was the Wild Bores, with out a doubt, they just quit too soon.

  • I first saw them at Lollapalooza in '95. Incredible show that I'll never forget. Thanks, Brainiac.

  • hahahaha, what is this, an episode of Mystery Science Theatre 3000?? why are the head silhouettes barely moving?? listen to this , id be goin apeshit

  • does anyone know where this show was. I saw them play three times. Once in pontiac, MI and twice in Grand Rapids, MI

  • So funny, this bootleg originated from me! Best band I have ever seen, and I have seen some amazing bands. Most original band EVER!!!!

  • BRAINIAC

  • thank you, thank you, thank you

    this is amazing

  • Brainiac was the greatest band ever! Brainiac represented the essence of the Dayton music sound in the 90's. There epic sets blew people away and they were off the stage before the spectators knew what hit them.

  • Yeah, where the fuck are they playing, a presbyterian deathwatch? That crowd is SSSAAADDD... Brainiac is unparallelled, RIP, Tim

  • there isn't good music anymore...I mean the best is over!

    thank you Brainiac

  • Awesome. Thanks.

  • FAVORITE SONG!!!

  • heh. is that a cardboard cut out silhouette or the crowd?

  • My guess is that Brainiac was opening for someone else that night, explaining why maybe the crowd wasn't in to them all that much

  • @mcweber83191 100% of all bands wish they could open up for brainiac

    thats how it is

  • @mcweber83191 Since Brainiac is in like the top 3 bands of all time, I'm guessing the band that they were opening for wasn't part of the top 3 of all time so it's safe to say this crowd is fucking terrible

  • @mcweber83191 I can explain...it's because Dayton Ohio is one of the lamest towns in America. This is way above there head, Dayton is just a bunch of hillbillies and douchebags.

  • @mcweber83191 Must be in L.A.

  • I lol'd.

  • mas mas!

  • we need more BRAINIAC

  • Thanks! This is awesome

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • Finally!!! I've found some brainiac footage!

    WOO WOO!!!

  • More please.

  • 1 <3 3RA1N1AC

  • HOLY SHIT!! EAT YER HEART OUT.
