Personnally, i think he cheated. 2:30 memorization is almost impossible. I solve a 5x5x5 Blindfolded in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. What about you guys ?

@MLBofficiel i dont think you solve one at all. You are bluffing, its not about how long it takes to do it that is the part that should be questioned (7m vs 1h), its the fact that it is even possible to memorize a sequence of turns and algorithms which could be 100+. I do a 5x5 in ~11m noblindfold.

@Daaviator5896 In blindfold cubing, you must memorize sequences, not turns, because it's not memorizable, but 5x5x5 Blindfolded is possible, just practice.

at the end when he solves the cube, his hands somehow press exactly the places where the timer pads are, even tho he's blindfolded. shouldn't he grope around a bit or smack a bit off the centre of the pads? proves he could actually see

Even if he CAN see what he's doing, he still solved it. Anyone saying he cheated, why don't you show us that you can do a

5x5x5 cube in <7:31. To me, this is the the same as getting angry at a kid for being better than you at a video game. Some people are just naturally better at it than others, and there's no point in trying to change that.

The official WCA board proved that this guy cheated.

they let him solve the regular 3x3 blindfolded without anyone obstructing his view, and he was able to solve it every time. However, when they obstructed his view, he Did Not Finish Everytime. They then saw that his blindfold was too high in his videos, so he could obviously see under it.

He actually was cheating. All cubers know the story of Matyas Kuti, and after he was banned from competition for 3 years, everyone learned not to cheat.

There's a separate section of the competition for just 5x5x5. This is for the blindfold solve of the 5x5x5. It is proven that he DID cheat and was suspended from competitions with all his records (Or cheated) off of the leaderboards on the speed cubing site. Though I get what you are saying that he DID solve it, but he didn't do it in the right section of the competition. If they wanted a 5x5 solve there's another place for that. That being said, cheating is the word in this situation.

i would daresay 90% or more of speedcubers who can solve the 5x5 can actually do it faster without being blindfolded. this video is controversial because it was proven that he cheated, and all his official times in blindfold category deleted from the official WCA website. but yeah, leave the trolls alone saying FAKE, GAY, GET A LIFE, etc etc

a person is ment to hold a peice of car between the solver and cube for a few minutes. to see what the reaction is. only way of telling if theyre cheating.

He barley looks at the cube. No one is that sure of success if they have not seen the puzzle since the inspection.

The head movement at 7:00 is also an indication.

I really do think he can solve the 3x-5x blindfolded, but not fast enough, or maybe he had trouble remembering the inspection, and that's why he cheated.

For all the guys who says he didn't cheat or are wondering whether he really did or not. Let me clear it up by saying, yes, Matyas Kuti did cheat on this, and his other blindfolded solves. He had all of his records in other blindfolded solves stripped along with this one. He was banned from tounaments for 3 years.

I don't want to sound like an ass, but I really hope he learned his lesson. He's a great cuber, but cheating is just not cool.

it is the Kuti-peek. if any1 dosent no what it is, it is where matyas KUTI pretends to memorise the cube, puts the blindfold on (a bit) and PEEKs under it. :P
