  • lol weird.

After seeing this I got inspired to use a slide to play Indian style. cause I usually just down tune a major 3rd on all strings so i can do the crazy sitar like bends.

But I tuned all of my strings like this (EBEEBE) and just picked and let the sympathetic resonance (like a real sitar) take care of the rest.

well anyways thanks for the idea!

  • For deep Hindustani slide inspiration, search Youtube for Debashish Bhattacharya. IMO, the most adept of the Indian slide masters, and an all around beautiful person. Check him out.

  • Thanks I will be sure to check him out!

  • sounds very Indian. (at least near the beginning.)

  • this is beautiful. i love 7/4 time !!! nice job

  • Thanks so much. I am glad you heard something you like!

  • good stuff!! i am trying to incorporate everything i do (guitar, bass, DJ, drum, etc) into some kind of live set so i am perusing different loop based performances trying to get ideas. Thanks for your help and keep on jammin'!!

  • Glad you heard something you like. This particular improv is a rather simple form. Only two loops at work: one short 7/4 phrase and then one longer loop that I record melodic parts in. For this long loop I alternate between overdub, replace, and undo to create different musical sections. For chord changes, I am using foot pedals to govern pitch of the short loop. (3:26-4:05) Similarly, I use pedals to kick the longer loop up an octave a couple of times.

  • Man I love this. . Do you have it up anywhere for download/sale?
