  • The soloing is great. The "soundbed" gets a little lost and sounds like wall of static after a while, but you have captured Fripp's phrasing and synthetic scales very well.

  • Good job. Try adding some bolgarian scales to it. That's what fripp did a lot =)

  • buen sonido! como lo logras?

  • yes max i moved to alabama. and no u cannot suck my dick... like... ever

  • Good work :) Glad to see appreciation improvisation and modes!

  • Robert Fripp, Egg, Mont Campbell...and you were 16 when you did this--18 or near so now? Bravo, bravo, bravo!

  • no evening star, but not bad.

  • Well done!!........I always wanted to figure out the solo to "Baby's on Fire",.........which in my opinion is one of the greatest solos of all time..............

  • this is the guitar playing that i like. you're not shredding mindlessly, but making sure every note is taken in. and you are not afraid to step outside of a particular scale or mode. sometimes the wrong notes, are the best notes. this was a very pretty piece.

  • This is awesome, and anyone who says otherwise is either an idiot or jealous.

    Well played.

  • sound cool:-)

I see youpluck a string in the beginning then do something with your hand that creates a long sustain sound whats creating this effect?

  • @briankeary I volume swelled into a delay pedal loop, so it sustains forever.

  • Really good, you really play in Fripp's style, greeting from Mexico

  • You are inspired! I'm so glad to see such talent and prowess in one of today's young players. I think Fripp would think this is very cool.

  • nice tone.

  • VERY NICE! I like it !

    sounds like the ''real'' frippertronics...

  • Do I plan to become a successful musician because of me pretending to be Fripp? Not at all. A 16 year old that listens to prog becomes bored every once in a while. ;)

  • ...what? Yup. I'm playing in the style of Fripp from the 70's. I never mentioned this being my only style. You're right- it's very easy to play. Listen to Evening Star - Fripp/Eno. Is that solo hard to play? A lot of beautiful music is also the simplest. Anyways.. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You can love your technique based guitar wankery all you like- I prefer emotion over technique personally. I guess Fripp did loads of second hand ejaculation as well.

  • Well done, sir...bravo! This is the closest thing to Fripp I've found on youtube. If you don't mind my asking, what scale are you using?

  • Thank you! A good question. What I noticed about Fripp's soloing is that it is hard to identify what key he is playing in. You can easily figure out what notes he is using, but most often, the exact scale is difficult to figure. My scale could be B Dorian (if judging by the first note I play), E Mixolydian, A Major, etc. I'd call it E Mixolydian because I go to E for a "safe" not, to relieve the tension.

  • You're great man:) I'm already trying to catch some Robert's style... I got boss me-50 it has "slow echo delay". It sounds like using volume pedal this way. Good work :)

  • Do you tune in NST?

  • Nope, I haven't experimented in that yet. Nobody knows whether you tune the first C down or up.

  • @Tengent Just like a cello! Tune the E down to a C

  • Oh, ok. I'll be glad to try it sometime, I love odd guitar tunings. ;) Many were confused by that.

  • @Tengent yeah! good job man, I'd like to prove to NST, any information? about the 1st and 2nd strings?? up or down!! thanks!

  • Worthy of the great man himself! Keep up the good work.

  • Amazing Too Buddy

    Congratulations & Thanks ^^

  • Very cool. I have a video up of Robert Fripp style playing. Check it out sometime.

  • Very good!!

  • kind of reminded me of Yes

  • that ist great , greetings from peru

  • where did you get it and for how much?

  • (I'm guessing you're talking about the guiter) A local guitar store for $300

  • /:3

  • How is the Russian big muff's bypass? I have a behringer copy (shame :P) and I can still hear the distAand I have the same guitar as you :D

Very nice melodies by the way, your vibrato is exactly like Fripp's

  • A-mazing man!

Love the guitar, love the music, great job. Keep up the good work!

  • Wow, thanks. I am glad you like it, it is appreciated. :)

  • Man, that was OUTSTANDING!! You need to find yourself an old eh 16 sec digital delay...You'd be there!!

  • What did you use to create that loop in the beginning?

  • The delay built-in on my amp turned all the way up. It can only last a few seconds so I couldn't make a decent loop.

  • Wonderful sound!

  • This is amazing. I've never heard a more accurate pass at Fripp's tone, aside from the dude from Bi Kyo Ran. Very nice!

  • dude, i really like this

  • I'm surprised, I honestly could have done a lot better. But thank you very much!

  • Fantastic (!)

  • nice work man! i did a quick video of something like this using a clean tone after watching something on mr fripp working on the ambient sounds for windows vista! very inspiring isnt it! i only did a short improvised idea to see if people could help me out with structural ideas! check it out man any comment would be most helpful! i was a bit wary of using a more harsh distorted tone under an ambient base but this is warming me to the idea of it! i may just have to do something similar! very cool

  • I'll check it out. Thanks. :)

  • Sounds great man! Very Frippy

  • This is given me a mild erection.

  • @LimmingKenny well then this gave me a raging boner.

  • @LimmingKenny there's pills for that.

  • awesome! can you please explain more precisely how you got that tone? is it with a delay, a loop machine or what? thanx!

  • I got it by playing through the rhythm channel with tone all the way down. Add some distortion and there you have it. I looped harmonies at the beginning to give it an ambient feel.

  • thanks, I'll surely give it a try: I've just found an opensource vst plugin to help make frippertronics! ; )

  • You an further emulate Fripp by turning your guitar and amp's volume all the way up and controlling volume through a foot pedal.

  • Yeah, that's one of my most wanted guitar accessories at the moment. I'm a sucker for volume swells.

  • -sways in crowd with candle in hand-

That was like o-o lagitly FABOO<3333

  • That was brilliant.

  • Thank you. :D

  • Epic

  • TOTALT ASS KICK

  • Very nice.
