@speedstick77 No, no! Rudolph von Beckerath himself loved theatre organs, and always enjoyed hearing 'non-traditional' music played on his organs. I work for one of Beckerath's apprentices, and I have heard this from him. The organ is the most wonderful and most versatile instrument there is, and it can sing in any language and style. Relax a little, and you may even enjoy it!

Maybe if you add some Celestes and String stops on the organ with the correct combinations of other stops, you might be able to make an accordeon like effect.
That's just the kind of "different" piece I need. Sounds like a nightmare to read though. Maybe after I get my next pair of new glasses???? Great post!

That is an exceptionally fine instrument. The music presented is a travesty.

@12odin12 Well, some german romantic organs have stops that sound similar to accordeons

How to make an organ sound like an accordeon!
Is this a piece you would play during Holy Communion?

Actually, the function behind an organ and an accordion is essentially the same...

Not really!
Blowing and sucking air around a vibrating membrane is not quite the same as blowing air through a whistle!
(And no, I haven't forgotten about reed pipes). A pipe organ is not a harmonium!!
People don't usually come to church to hear fairground organ music.

Oh, I think it's the same. It arranged much differently, true, but when you get right down to it the principle is indistinguishable.

Awesome! I am currently working on one of Beckerath's largest organs, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and it's nice to see another one on youtube.
