i think Sam Jones plays bass on this track , not paul chambers

I also thought so at first.

But according to Winton Kelly's recording discography, they say the bassist on this track was Paul Chambers.

For that reason I stipulated each member based on that description to here.

I'm always amazed by the quality of swing Kelly had. There's so much dynamic within each phrase and the notes that are louder are where they should be to keep the whole thing swinging. He was the most swinging pianist ever in my opinion. More obsessed with the dancing and bouncing quality of his swing than any other pianist.

I really don't think this is chambers at his best. maybe I'm just having an off day, but he sounds really out of tune.

Even if Chambers was a versatile bassist, I think that there were days when he was dispirited.

This may be recording of that day.

This is really nice, but I prefer Oscar Peterson's version. That is not to say I don't think this version is excellent.
